- Do YOU remember this show? Let me know in the comments!
This is the opening theme to the lost 1990's relic known as Roundhouse. This show ran for 4 seasons on Saturday nights on Nickelodeon (SNICK) in the early 1990's, and it basically taught me all i needed to know about what was cool...in the early 1990's.
I took great care in restoring the audio and video from an aging VHS source that sat in my storage for over 30 years. Surprisingly, it had been recorded in Hi-Fi at the time. This preserved much of the original audio fidelity that just doesn't exist on any of the versions I've seen floating around the Internet. Much like the restoration I did on the "Chamber of Horrors" cassette a couple years ago, this employs a lot of processing in order to breathe life into such an old recording. I did the best I could with this one, having picked up a few new mastering tricks along the way. Roundhouse is one of my favorite parts of a storied childhood. Enjoy!
I’ve never watch this but for some reason I remember the song 🤷♂️
It was all over TV for a few years, so it's in our subconscious!
@@SilasHemmingway yea most likely
I used to watch this early 90s on cable, obsession with the intro song
Rip Dominic Lucero
Why do you mean?
@@anthonyTang-d5w Dominic Lucero passed away almost 30 years ago from Leukemia
I distinctly remember watching this show in my parents' bedroom while they were in the living room trying to get through Hyrule Castle in Link To The Past (the version you go to after you get the Master Sword, where Agahnim ends up sending you to the Dark World). I played too back then but I sucked (I was 5 XD), so in order to make meaningful progress I had to play from their copied file XD
I totally watched this show as a kid(I was 9 in 92). The dude on the motorized lazyboy I remember vividly.
Fun fact, a few of the cast members were actors in the Newsies movie.
Roundhouse was way ahead of its time. Even though i was only 5 when it came out, it was so good to watch.
It truly was like being a part of the "adult" club when watching this.
@@SilasHemmingway Yeeeessss
They should bring back snick
We should start a Saturday night live stream about it. We can play clips of all of the old SNICK shows and discuss what we love and remember. Clarissa Explains it All, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Are You Afraid of the Dark? ALL of the old SNICK shows! I think people would tune in to watch us just for the notaliga alone! I've got tons of archived stuff, and every episode of Roundhouse too! I dumped them to DVD years ago and lost them in my storage...somewhere. We should do this!
happy 32nd birthday Roundhouse!

From there, David Sidoni did

Love It SilasHemmingway Bro.
Nice job! Looks like I showed up at the perfect time 😄There was an audio cassette uploaded a couple years back with full stereo mixes of songs from the series. I've been hunting down stereo recordings of the show to remaster whatever I can, similar to what you did here!
I would love to hear those mixes! I've the whole series that I converted from VHS to DVD years ago, but the sound on most of them is quite low. I got lucky with this episode and the opening theme! I hope you post your results if you do remaster them.
So much 90s
I Watched Two Episodes Of This Show I Didn’t Know What It Was Until I Looked It Up
Welcome to Nickelodeon before it sucked! 😂
My guitar teachers father worked on this show!
That's awesome! I would have loved to be there for the taping of just one episode!
Way before Amanda Show but interesting familiar
I miss this show .why was it cancelled
I think it was like everything else at the time. The cast grew up and it ran its course over 4 years. Reunion show one day???
the demographic skewed too old, and it wasn't as wacky as All That. It's a shame because it was funny, but I have to admit kid-me wanted broader, wackier stuff rather than this more low-key, thoughtful humor. It was only later, when I remembered gags, that I realized how great it was.
@@KairuHakubi I was the opposite I was aging out of ALL THAT
@@Astronomical1 strange, All That started in '94 and Roundhouse was canceled by '95. and i seem to recall it totally evaporated from reruns.
Never found its audience. Too mature for a kids' network (at least the demographic Nick was courting), but older viewers didn't watch enough Nickelodeon. I think the cast of Victorious could've pulled off a show like this (Matt Bennett and Liz Gillies in particular would've CRUSHED a Roundhouse-style musical sketch show), but Dan Schneider shoehorned them into Gen Z humor and foot stuff.
Could a Paramount+ revival of Roundhouse work? You'd have to find the perfect director and writers, and of course the cast would have to be stellar (my recommendations: Justice Smith, Darcy Rose Byrnes, and Haley Tju), but it could definitely find the right audience on streaming if it was a good show.
I'm that old
