With how bad things have been lately, watching this stuff from my childhood has been a welcome relief.
Yeah, this video is the ultimate escape.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Pre-post modernism is healthy as I see it.
Me too i watch it over and over
Fact
Agree
These are taking me back to simpler times, when I was a kid in the 90s. Nick-At-Nite was my favorite thing to watch back then.
I am watching all of these in this upload and cannot believe how many of them are coming back to me in my memory as if they were just yesterday… I cannot believe I was 10 and11 years old staying up all night watching Nick at Nite over 30 years ago. Unreal.
That's cartoons was getting cut off at 7 8 o'clock not like now cartoons go all night long. I had to look at Mary Tyler Moore n Lucy dick van dyke lol
@M Simmons lol yeah
It's crazy how deep these have burrowed into my brain. I remember literally every last one of them. Man I watched too much TV.
I'm the exact same way. It was a great time to be watching too much TV.
I had one of those old satellites from the 80s and would watch Nick @ Nite on several broadcasts. I am amazed at how many of these promos I remember too.
PROGRAMMING
Same brother, the tv raised me lol...
Me too
I think we need a minute to appreciate the spectacular session singing/ playing on these spots. I mean DANG, some killer session vocals and so few would think about it as it rolls by. 🎶💙
You never realize how good you had things until you watch uploads like these. Take me back, please.
I can't literally take you back, but I'll keep stuff like this coming.
I had the forethought about that as a kid in the 80s, so I recorded many of these on VHS
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Please do. These commercials are classics
As the saying goes, you don't know what you've got till it's gone.
Love the tinge of 50’s aesthetic in these despite this being an 90’s channel
Yeah well they were still playing a few from the 50's and 60's then.
Yeah, but in the 50s, people didn't cook TV dinners in microwave ovens.
Saw a huge amount of Nick at Nite in the mid 90's, this is great stuff.
I was pretty obsessed with it as a kid, but these bumpers were the best part of the whole channel.
The older I get the more I realize that the happiest evenings of my life were spent with Nick at Nite. Now I own all the series they used to show on DVD, but it's still just not the same.
I know what you mean. It's one thing to watch the old shows on DVD or on youtube, but there was just something about watching them on Nick At Nite, knowing that they were showing them right then and other people were watching them at the exact same time. It felt more comfy, if that makes sense.
“I’ve made a personal decision, to try better living through television. But to make it right, I gotta have Nick at Nite!” My favorite one.
It's an awesome jingle, but I don't like the visuals as much as many of the others.
Consumer Time Capsule Nick at Nite commercials featured every single method of making visual art. There’s cartoon, stop-animation, live-action, claymotion, literally EVERYTHING. This is what I would consider to be true art.
My favorite one is Troglodyte, Don't Adjust Your Set, and Video Magician.
@Yonatan Ashad Same.

Kudos to the network for putting so much effort into making each of these promos so unique for a block that showed reruns seen a million times.
Yeah, these really tied everything together. So great.
I've been trying to put my finger on what made these bumpers so special. And IMO it's because there's such a range of high quality camp production for a block that's specifically aired in the middle of the night while most people are asleep. It was like a secret society of late night TV nostalgia. Way before Adult Swim. And if it weren't for the internet, many of us would have ever seen these. Nick at Nite cared enough about their overnight audience that they created it's own retro world just for them. That's why I miss themed cartoon and sitcom blocks on network and cable TV. I remember N@N very well but was a child(born in 1980) I wasn't the demographic though I was an old soul. On Fridays after TGIF was over, I would watch the Best of Saturday Night, SCTV and Laugh-In on N@N. Then maybe watch Arsenio afterward. It was the one night where I could stay up late and I had the main TV all to myself. I have no idea what it's like now but i heard it only airs about 4 shows repeatedly.
Yeah, you really nailed it. I'm around the same age and was obsessed with Nick at Nite, especially the annual countdown hosted by Casey Kasem. Those stopped right around the same time as these bumpers, so once all that was over, I lost interest.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule YES! I used to LOVE that countdown! I still remember watching them every year, being even more excited for it than the ball drop itself x3;;;
You said it perfectly. I absolutely loved NickAtNite and all the variety of shows were great. Have you seen their line up now? It’s the Friends channel. It’s Friends, followed by Friends, followed by Friends and after that is Friends. It’s literally all they show. No more fun shows, no more variety, no more fun promos. Nothing. Just Friends. It’s pretty sad.
E Stew I know that’s terrible. And they got the nerve while Friends is reran on TBS in the daytime so it’s not even exclusive
Me Tv is pretty good and so is Cozi tv, but I do miss these jingles. I remember Nick at night having an ad with someone plugging in a tv in the backyard and sitting on couch under the stars to watch. That would be so cool.
Bobby this is a GOD level upload and you know it.
I really put a lot of work into getting my hands on this several years back. So worth it, though. Glad you dug it.
Those good summer time memories of playing outside all day then coming home at night to watch Nick at Nite.
Same to add on that. Summer time come in it still be hot at night I come in sit under the fan to cool off and watch nick at nite
That's my strongest, coziest, most enduring memory of Nick at Nite; coming into the bedroom soaking wet after swimming and getting hit with the scent and the chill of the air conditioner, and turning on Nick at Nite.
Their creative directors & writers during this time were geniuses
I worked third shift, alone, when this was airing. I had Nick at Nite on TV as I worked and remember most of these jingles. Lots of great shows like Superman, Hitchcock, Dragnet, Pattie Duke, and others. Thanks for the upload!
I'm amazed how many of these I remember, either visuals, the jingles or both. I miss this network haha.
Same way here, but my family watched a ton of Nick at Nite when I was a kid.
I think most of us that were kids during this era stayed up and watched the Nick At Nite shows, but I assume the main purpose of it was for parents to watch Nickelodeon with their kids, send them off to bed, then keep watching oldies television. Pretty brilliant for its time.
We watched Nick at Nite all the time when it first came out. I remember all these bumpers! Thanks for posting this collection! Great stuff!
When Nick at Nite first came out in the mid-80s, there was another series of bumpers. They were pretty good, but these were much catchier. I remember almost all of them by heart from watching them as a kid.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Fantastic Video. That was great. Except for the part where someone betrays me saying he don't have anything from HBO Family either. Looks Like I'll never see HBO Family! Great Job For Nick at Nite Though.
This 90's version of Nick at Nite is kinda nostalgic & relaxin' honestly. 💜
When my parents were divorcing, my dad would work nights, and the only time I got to see my mom was in the evenings when she got off work and we'd sit on the couch and watch Nick at Nite together until I fell asleep. This is bringing back those dozy bittersweet memories.
❤
I used to stay up late as a kid and watch this channel. These bumpers were great back then but they're even better now.
The 90s were prime Nick at Nite, and these were a major reason.
This is one of the greatest gift to the internet ever offered.... THANK YOU!
Nick at Nite was my introduction to many classic TV shows. I remember staying up late on Friday and Saturday nights to watch Dragnet, Get Smart, F-Troop, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and so many others.
I know we have several classic-TV networks today (Me TV, Antenna TV, Retro TV) but none of them have the lineup that N@N did. They sure don’t have these creative bumpers either!
incredible how these could fit in in a today version of nick at nite.
It's hard to imagine an era of television where these wouldn't fit. Unquestionably the greatest tv bumpers ever made.
Man i remember so many of these lol i miss good ol nick at nite 😭
It was the best, and these bumpers were my favorite part of watching.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule yes they were, thanks for uploading these
Of course!
Patty Duke, Mister Ed, Get Smart, Dragnet, Alfred Hitchcock, that was my Nick At Nite. Now it’s all Friends and other programs from the 2000s that it doesn’t feel the same.
For best viewing effect, watch these in the wee hours of the morning. You'll feel alone and not alone all at once😌
That's an astoundingly accurate assessment.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Thank you. Nick at Nite was a great companion growing up.
@@1dbanner For you and I both!
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule the fourth spot, the Elvis dog, I vividly remember seeing for the first time during the Superman marathon in the early 90s. First time my parents let me stay up late without having friends over. Wonderful memories.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I used to stay up late at night watching Nick at Nite after Nickelodeon was done for the day. Still miss watching Taxi every night.
Between this and the weather channel how could you not be happy?
I'm down for some 90s Weather Channel uploads... local on the 8s with smooth jazz and funky beats... ahhh, good times.
ronjon83 right?? so legendary
Can't say that I have any Weather Channel stuff on tape, but never say never for like ten years from now.
That was my childhood
Wow...holy flashbacks! You are the man.
Thanks, Dusty!
What a great time to watch Nick at nite in the late 90s
“I’m having a love affair
Ev’ry night on the air
The mood is always right with Nick-
With NICK AT NITE!”
1:40 This bumper is amazing, they even got the typical TV dinner right:
• Roasted sliced turkey
• Buttered Peas
• Mashed Potatoes w/ gravy
These are really cool. I wish Nick would release commercial versions of all their bumpers and idents, and marketing from the 90s. I would buy that DVD in an instant. I know they used to put a few as special features on their Nick rewind dvds, but that was almost 20 years ago.
This is probably the closest we'll ever get to that. It was shared with the production team for their portfolios on VHS.
Sun PK (a guy who co-wrote some of the Nick at Nite jingles) at one point was selling DVDs of this Nick at Nite jingle ID collection through his website. Unfortunately, his website no longer exists. If you could get in contact with him, maybe he could still sell you a copy.
Take me back to the 90s, those were the good ol’ days filled with great memories.
How I miss the days when I used to watch Nick at Nite before bedtime, back when they had shows like I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched and I Love Lucy. Not to mention all of these clever bumpers, which I remembered most of them the instant I saw them. What I wouldn't give for those days back... :'3
You and I both. At least we had things good for a while.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule True...very true... :'3
Yep. Nothing but Friends on there now. One episode after another.
I remember all these. I was born in 85' so I'm a 90's kid
I was born in the same year too I’m also a 90’s Kid too
Then you grew up during the best era of Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite!
Wow, I can remember and sing along to every word. Nick at Nite was really something special back then.
It was the perfect moment in time for a channel like that. They're really dragging down the name value by keeping it around at this point.
My goodness, I didn't know they made tapes of bumpers like this.
They didn't... it was just for the production team's portfolios.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule How did you manage to obtain it?
About 17 or 18 years ago, after a lot of legwork, I tracked down one of the songwriters and we worked something out.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Glad you did!
You’d think they’d WANT this stuff to be found more easily. These are quality promos!
Gosh I miss Nick at Nite in the 90s. It all went downhill when they started showing early -mid 2000s stuff, I think.
The Nick at Night bumpers and IDs were brilliant. Clever, interesting and entertaining. A simpler time in history. Thanks for posting these clips.
I’d love it if they brought these back
Maybe in 2025 to celebrate their 40th Anniversary
"There's great TV pleasure at your command, hello out there from TV land, Nick @ Nite brings it home to youuuuuu!" I love that one
That's the best one ever. I won't hear otherwise.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule Not from me you won't!
Easily one of the best television bumpers ever made!
"Nick at Nite! The video magician! Nick at Nite! The choice is in your hand! Nick at Nite! It's better televisioooooooon! You'll love to join the folks in TV land." I like that one.
Oh the nostalgia...
I remember these when getting ready for Ren and Stimpy. I was in my 30s. Now on the brink of retirement, I think about the good stuff like this.
I miss the world in the 80s and especially 90s. Things we're optimistic and magical and exciting and hopeful.
They were. Pre-Postmodernism really worked.
Just found this man this takes me back when I was kid in the 90s my mom watched nick at nite for many years thank u for sharing these
Old is gold
As I never lived in this time frame, I’d love it if Nick at Nite still had this atmosphere with all those Friends airings my mom and I watch every now and then.
I swear I did not blink watching this! I cant believe how many of these I remember, it took me back to 1992-94 all over again. So nostalgic!
I remember all of these!!!!!
Theses are my childhood memories on TV. Thank you for this!
My pleasure!
Thanks for posting this!! The 90s were such a great time to grow up!!
I miss being a kid in the 90s, I remember being up late as hell watching Dragnet, Dobie Gillis, Patty Duke, get smart and all the other shows. I miss Nick at Nite, hell even Nickelodeon isn't how it used to be
I remember ALL, more than childhood this was part of my life.
Well said. You and I both.
Very well said. Same here. I can recite them all.
Seeing all these classic nick@night theme songs reminds me just how awesome the 90s were back then. ❤
"There's great TV pleasure at your command,
Hello out there from TV land,
Nick at Nite brings it home to you!" There was nothing better than 90's N@N.
God, what a great time to grow up. What I wouldn't give for a free pass to go back, just for a little while.
man I wish Nick @ Nite would play old game shows like Buzzer alongside more classic sitcoms again
Nick and nite was awesome in the 90s
The absolute best.
As a child I learned the word "Troglodyte" from the ad that begins at 29 seconds
I watched alot of nick at night from the late 80s till 2000 about and these bring me great memories ! Jesus. I just let this play while I'm trying to go to sleep just like when I was kid and teenager! Thanks for posting !
I know right. I hated silence so this always helped me
@@sabrinapaul22 Great minds think alike !
If you were born in the late 80s or early 90s ..you were blessed..had the best of everything..even these old shows in syndication. Kids born just 10 years after us dont even have any idea of these shows.. The Jeffersons, Mary Tyler Moore, Mork and Mindy..but we were blessed because of nickelodeon and nick at night
This is exactly what we needed. Thanks heaps!
Yeah, the internet without this video was incomplete.
0:28 was my favorite... I was 12 when that one started playing...
Also, The 1930's cartoon in that "Recreation" Nick at Nite Bumper is 1931's Van Beuren cartoon. "College Capers"
I wasn't alive during this time, but If I fell asleep watching Nick if I grew up during this period, these jingles would've definitely haunted my dreams for a LONG time 😂
Nick at Nite was the only thing that kept me sane and pretty much what I would normally watch what my parents would tell me that I can't watch [Adult Swim]
These would have pre-dated the Adult Swim era, but Nick at Nite kinda always filled that parent-friendly late night TV role.
@@ConsumerTimeCapsule good point

Interesting list. My family watched so much Nick at Nite at the time that I remembered just about all of them, so it's kinda neat to hear what stuck with you.
Man I loved Nick at Nite . The Patty Duke show at 1:00am was my favorite !!! It repeated the same Patty Duke episode again at 5:00 am. Nick at Nite needs to come back !!
I used to love Nick At Nite. Couldn’t wait to eat dinner and settle on my couch and watch classic shows. Thankfully there’s streaming now since NickAtNite turned into the Friends channel. Just Friends and all Friends and nothing but Friends. They show nothing at all but Friends.
And no bumpers anymore!
Nick at Nite just added early episodes of Young Sheldon to its lineup.
More like a new version of the WB bcuz the current schedule is shows from WB because Gunnar Wiedenfeld sent me his kind regards and made a failed Paramount-WBD merger when WBD is programming Channels better
Now Nickelodeon does a sign-off similar to Cartoon Network's each night ("Thanks for watching! See you tomorrow! Goodnight!", Nicktoons crying) before they switch to it. :/
For nostalgic purposes I watch this a couple of times a week. Even my kids watch it and know every word from every ident. I remember being 10 watching Duck Van Dyke show, Marty Tyler Moore, F Troop, Doby Gillis etc. I was 10! 10 years old in the hood watching these classics with my dad lol.
You can take away my car🚕
You can have my VCR 📼
But leave that 12-in black and white📺
So I can watch my Nick at night🌙
😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️
"Cubey the tubey bringing you beautiful true blue tv delight. Cubey the tubey I love what you doo bee cause you bring me Nick at Nite!!"
We're as far away from this now as they were from those classic shows then
I watched these to heal my inner child lol these commercial bumps walked so adult swim bumps could run😂
Nick at nite AU had Feel Good TV Until 2000
1 person likes Nick at Nite Now!
I'll take 90's Nick-at-Nite over Nick-at-Nite Now...and it went to MeTV, Decades, and Antenna TV.
Yeah, but Nick at Nite didn't just spit out old shows. It had a character and feel all its own, as evidenced by this tape. That can't be replicated.
0:28 - 0:38 is the best nick at nite bumper imo
Wow i remember most of these jingles
Yeah, so short and simple. Tough to forget.
So many great songs, I can't decide which is my favorite! I had most of these bumpers downloaded to a now-destroyed USB drive. Thanks so much for helping me replace them all, and add more!
4:00- What is that liquid that splashes when the girl gets pulled away? 0.0
9:15- Always reminded me of Nick News
10:58- I don't remember this one, but this song is now embedded in my brain.
I miss these days 😪
You and I both.
Man I miss the 90s
thank you
I had to bring my daughter to the hospital, and I was watching Nick at Nite a few days ago.. but they didn't have any bumpers. Just commercials and a logo when watching Friends show. Wow! That sucked.

Not sure if anyone remembers but my favorite was the transition from Nick to Nick at Nite. It must have been 1986/1987. I remember a bus with someone playing a trumpet and the people on the bus were from the Nick at Nite shows at the time.
