Does Cuphead count as a platformer? I really love the 50s cartoon vibe it went for. If that doesn't count I gotta say Ori games. Both games are just stunning visually and play as well as it looks.
Man that is wild looking. Even has a "slide" animation as he's sliding down a wall and a Naruto run animation. Everything also looks you can add just one line and make a butt crack on it. QOTD, man this is a really hard one. Flink on the Sega cd. Astal and keio yugekitai on the Saturn. The shantae games. Owlboy is a new-ish good looking one. Castle of illusion. Ack!
Looks like it'd be difficult to jedge distances and what is and isn't a hazard (but seeing as you didn't mention it I imagine in practice it's not too much an issue?)
I worried that might be an issue, but the game does a good job of teaching you what you can interact with and how close you can be to the enemies/obstacles. Even the few hits I take in the footage shown here are from user error, mostly me trying to rush things and not being careful. It's challenging, but not unfair or frustrating.
Really great visuals and designs in this game. Best platformer art? The Kirby game where everything was made out of yarn looked cool. Skullmonkeys where everything was clay.
QotD: Bit.trip.runner 2, but also Straimium immortaly (which has a trippy phycadelic color scheme to it, kinda like spinch); good question, cause there are so many games with unique art styles. It's amazing when you really think about it
You keep on providing amazing reviews! Many thanks! QOTD, I’d have to go with Cuphead! A unique art that hasn’t been matched yet... well Spinch is quite unique too.
This game looks great. I wasn't very interested when I first saw the visuals, but seeing the gameplay and Cyril's excitement over it, it sure looks like a safe buy from me : ) As for the question of the day, there are many great suggestions in the comments! Guacamelee, Rayman Origins, Cuphead... Given many have already said the kind of games that came to my mind, I'll just add another favorite of mine to the list: Hollow Knight
All of these hearts were hear months ago. I did not suddenly "like" and "thumbs up" Cassians comment. Go look at any of the comments sections and you'll see that I do that whenever I read a new comment. There are plenty of things you can complain about, so why lie?
Colours are evil, sounds like a trip, in more ways than one. Still, sounds like a fun game. May check it out. As for the question, this may end up being the answer, but I've not played it yet, so being fair, out of those I have played maybe Mario 3D for WiiU. I do indeed like the art design of that as well as the playing.
Looks like something I would draw on acid 🙃 Well if I knew how to draw. I liked style of Little Nightmares and Limbo but they are more adventure puzzle games so for platfomer I liked first Yoshi art style, and last two Yoshi games with woolly like theme, also Kirby Wii and 3DS game which look like is made of yarn.
This surprised me. I thought this was going to be some ultra frustrating lip jumping platformer. Good to see that this is enjoyable. I guess from the top of my head is TEMPO from the saturn.
Rayman Origins was absolutely gorgeous, art wise. One of my favorites.
Eternal castle remastered is my coolest art style as it brings back all the retro memories

@F google I didn't respond to Geno because their question was rhetorical and didn't need a response. You rudely going after me is uncalled for.
1930s art style**
Were you able to complete this game?
Yes, indeed I was.
Where can I find linux release?
Great review! This has convinced me to get it
QOTD: Guacamelee! hands down.
Rayman legends has such cool art style

Kirby also had a game on the wiiu where it incorporated stop motion clay art
For anyone interested: Nitrome has a LOT of games in this art style. I love them for that.
Good shout-out. I just reviewed Nitrome's newest game, Shovel Knight Dig, last week.
@@DefunctGames I played silly sausage a lot
Gotta love that title! 😉

It's a genre that lends itself well to experimental art styles.

Whoa. What a rude thing to say, F Google. Cassian wrote a great comment, which is why I favorited it.

GRIS by far and then Ori and Unravel. Also very pretty are LIMBO and Hollow Knight.
You really liked it hehe
Coolest artstyle? Coolspot of course B)

Is it safe to play the game ?
It doesn't warn me or anything
This game looks like The Problem Solverz turned into a platformer.

Hollow knight...
Dude
You talk only the visual look. 😅
I don't focus much (or perhaps enough) on the audio. It's not something I spend much time talking about in my reviews, for whatever reason.

Ich finde das aussehen vom spiel mega.
Hab mich nur gefragt ob es ausreicht. ^^
This game fucking sucks. Instant regret
What didn't you like about it?
