Pastor Alistair is going where a wide majority of pastors in the US fail to tread. This is what is wrong with todays church, the pulpit has lost it's true calling for teaching the truth in Gods word. Thank God for men of valor such as Alistair Begg and my pastor Jack Hibbs.
You are so right.. So many churches in America now days don't want to 'offend' anyone so they don't preach The Gospel.. They talk about being healthy and wealthy without talking about the one thing they should be talking about and that is SIN.. True facts. If you spend an hour online now you'll see all of 2 Timothy 3 unfold. People have so much venom on their lips. I stopped debating people online because it is fruitless. When an atheist wants to debate they usually just want to mock, attack, and pride themselves on whatever book they've read that "disproves" the bible. Even if you gave them perfect proof their pride won't allow it. Someone's heart needs to be open for them to seek and learn about God. Understanding God is super simple yet super complex. Best I can do is be a good example of my beliefs by not arguing.
Just give them the simple gospel don't argue. "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17. Just pray that God will open their hearts and mind to the truth. He is able.
This is, in my opinion, one of the main reasons that young adults who report being saved, don’t go to church or attend a woke progressive church. The Church I attend now wholeheartedly embraces Pride, homosexuality, transgenderism etc. I could go elsewhere, but I know it would be the same story. This is where preachers like Alistair Begg come in. When we return from church on a Sunday, grateful for the fellowship of other Christians but concerned about the ministers assurances that a modern day Jesus would be participating in every progressive activist cause going, we can counter those teachings with the uncompromising, timeless wisdom of a good shepherd. I am so grateful for these sermons, and for other online resources delivering the sound teaching that helps strengthen us against some of the more dubious sermons being delivered in our local churches today.
The real truth cannot be replaced, it can be ignored and rejected but never replaced. No matter what society, or even many in the church, may say, if we claim to be the people of God, we must stand on, live by and speak the absolute truth of God's word. Ive been wondering this too. However, he was giving advice to a granny who had voiced her biblical beliefs to her grandson many times, not creating a doctrine for universal application. He expressed the thought that she could show her love for her grandson in the midst of her rejection of his lifestyle. That’s all I can come up with.

Except....that homosexuality occurs naturally in animals, and has been proven to be a biological variation of human sexuality with no mental health disorder related to it. I've gone out street preaching the love of Christ in the spirit of Holiness and love and people are very receptive, ask for prayer, share their needs, just like in church but there are outside in John Wesley's parish. If someone asks me if homosexuals are going to hell I tell them the words of Jesus: "whoever comes to me I will in way cast out." "whosoever will let him come and drink of the river of life". No need to argue, just lift Jesus up with a pure heart and they will respond. But churches don't have an outreach team because of a lack of confidence in the message.
But sadly I have found many people who think they can come to Jesus and at the same time continue in the same sins they have always lived in. After all “God is love”.
The apostle Paul addresses homosexuality very clearly in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Some at Corinth were that, and they turned from it, that's repentance. Tell them if they die in their sins they will go into a lost eternity. They can escape that by turning to Jesus!

So glad he brought this up. Let's not forget that Jesus never had a girlfriend, never got engaged, never married, never dated. What he did was to hang out with 12 other men day and night. I did all my schooling under section 28. I cannot begin to express what a damaging influence it has on my life. When an atheist wants to debate they usually just want to mock, attack, and pride themselves on whatever book they've read that "disproves" the bible. Even if you gave them perfect proof their pride won't allow it. Someone's heart needs to be open for them to seek and learn about God. Understanding God is super simple yet super complex. The Church I attend now wholeheartedly embraces Pride, homosexuality, transgenderism etc. I could go elsewhere, but I know it would be the same story. This is where preachers like Alistair Begg come in. When we return from church on a Sunday, grateful for the fellowship of other Christians but concerned about the ministers assurances that a modern day Jesus would be participating in every progressive activist cause going, we can counter those teachings with the uncompromising, timeless wisdom of a good shepherd. I am so grateful for these sermons, and for other online resources delivering the sound teaching that helps strengthen us against some of the more dubious sermons being delivered in our local churches today.
The real truth cannot be replaced, it can be ignored and rejected but never replaced. No matter what society, or even many in the church, may say, if we claim to be the people of God, we must stand on, live by and speak the absolute truth of God's word. It will cost but we do not build up treasures on earth, rather invest in a God filled eternity.

Ive been wondering this too. However, he was giving advice to a granny who had voiced her biblical beliefs to her grandson many times, not creating a doctrine for universal application. He expressed the thought that she could show her love for her grandson in the midst of her rejection of his lifestyle. That’s all I can come up with.

Except....that homosexuality occurs naturally in animals, and has been proven to be a biological variation of human sexuality with no mental health disorder related to it. For the extreme majority of them they are that way from birth and know they are gay from a very young age, stating that it was never a "choice" for them, just like a left-handed person is left-handed from birth.

I've gone out street preaching the love of Christ in the spirit of Holiness and love and people are very receptive, ask for prayer, share their needs, just like in church but there are outside in John Wesley's parish. If someone asks me if homosexuals are going to hell I tell them the words of Jesus: "whoever comes to me I will in way cast out." "whosoever will let him come and drink of the river of life". No need to argue, just lift Jesus up with a pure heart and they will respond. But churches don't have an outreach team because of a lack of confidence in the message.
But sadly I have found many people who think they can come to Jesus and at the same time continue in the same sins they have always lived in. After all “God is love”.

So glad he brought this up. Let's not forget that Jesus never had a girlfriend, never got engaged, never married, never dated. What he did was to hang out with 12 other men day and night. It all goes back to the Garden of Eden, “did God really say..? Too many are believing the serpent. I’m so happy that you continue to hold fast to the teachings of the scripture, and not bending to make sinners feel comfortable about their sin. It is important to be loving, but not accepting of their sin.

How would someone feel if there were sites just set aside that described the perils of malicious gossip and the grievous sin that separates the perpetrators from god and they knew it was their stumbling block between themselves and god, would it not be better that they took their sin consciousnesses to the altar and laid it bare before god,then when they were made perfect they could go out and judge another.
I did all my schooling under section 28. I cannot begin to express what a damaging influence it has on my life. Claiming that it was moral or had something to do with Christianity is either ignorant or deliberately dishonest.

I only was able to listen to five minutes of this lesson. I really need wisdom in dealing with this subject. Anybody have ideas

I am someone who tries to follow the commands of loving God, neighbor and self. I'm trying to understand why the bible is the final authority. When did God say we must lace all authority in the bible?
I'm in agreement with you , although fundamentalists and some evangelicals would argue for the bible as the only source of moral imperatives . However , God endowed us with conscience and a rational mental faculty for the awareness of , and obligations to , moral values .

Can someone explain the "This is not America, and I like the fact" part? Yes I was born in America and yes I understand now that this is not my home. Just not sure what this part and all the clapping and laughter was about.
I think when they clapped for whatever he had just said, my impression is that he was referring to how Americans clap in church when they agree with something that is said. My impression is that he doesn't like clapping as a way of supporting what he just said. I could be wrong tho.
That broken culture in a broken world needs drugs and gambling and sex of the strange variety to quell the emptiness and barren condition of the soul that needs the true and living God to experience life. It is a sad and brutal time to be sure. Thanks for these words of truth and hope.
