It must be quite disconcerting to have sun twenty or twenty four hours a day, as also having long dark nights with barely three or four hours sun. We people living in tropics don’t realise the blessings we enjoy and take for granted.
I can assure you, it's not disconcerting at all, it's wonderful to enjoy nature 24/7 during summer. Imagine to take a walk in nature like this at midnight, and enjoy the silence and calm. And while it's pretty dark during the winter, with zero hours of sun actually, you have more time to enjoy the night sky and northern lights, but also focus more on hobbies and indoor projects. Over a year, the Arctic don't have any more or any less sunshine than any other place on earth. Now, what is wonderful by the extreme difference between winter and summer, is exactly that, difference. It's not only about the things you can or can't do. In the tropics you have one monoton season year round (and some rain) in the arctic, you have summer, fall, winter and spring, and while most places have that to a certain degree, the seasons are extremely different this far north, so you never get bored, everything changes, often from day to day and you live more in sync with nature and weather.
What a magnificent sight to behold, living along the equator we have 12hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. Can't wait to travel to Norway to see for myself.
Im no where near the equator I live at 37 degrees north and the latest time it sets here is 8:28pm but thats not considering the fact that there is daylights savings so in reality its just 7:28 and in the winter its 4:44
Just Jory there’s also daylight shifting time in this video and I actually use double daylight shifting time. I’m at 40N, so winter is 9:15-18:30 and summer is 6:23-21:29.
Thank you very much friend..... To share ur moment.... I am from India (south india Maharashtra) I can't explain .... How I feel happiness... To watching ur vedio...
did you know that what you mentioned is the true metaphor for Christ walking on water ... Christ is the metaphor for the Sun, the Son of Man - Humanity .
a very interesting thing about the midnight sun is that sense there are much lighter days do we get more enery and can spend the days being more productive. which in return makes us tired enough to sleep in complete brightness
Technically, this is not the midnight sun. The definition of true midnight sun is that you can see the whole sun over the horizon with the eyes at high tide level at 00:00 am (or 01:00 am with summer time in Norway). Nevertheless, it is a wonderful sight whether it is the true midnight sun or not!
Yeah, you are quite close to be correct. The video creater has it wrong and has not understood the definition of midnight sun. The midnight sun periode was over 8.July in Bodø (the video was from 14.July). There is not a "technical" or "true" midnight sun. Eihter you have it .... or you don't have it. Simple as that. It would be correct that the sun had it's lowest position at 01:00h if Bodø was located at 15 dgr E longitude (which is the average over the whole year) . But Bodø is located a little more west. That adds a handful of minutes to when the sun is at it's lowest point. Why you mix in high tide with midnight sun is beyond me. Those two things has nothing with each other to do.
@@xpost9381 About the level from where you can see the whole sun: I have read this definition in a trusted source somewhere, years ago. I cannot remember where, and it is not important if you are satisfied by looking at the upper part of it over the horizon. I can see no reason no reason to discuss this any further.
Yeah true it’s midnight civil twilight and clock midnight sun except the sun sets 25.5 minutes before solar midnight and rises 25.5 minutes after solar midnight.
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it [as if] setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found near it a people. Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness." Quran 18 87
@@henryapolinarcastrocruz9236 the globe is always spinning but you should also know that the earth is tilted on its axis at around 23 degrees, this is what causes this phenomenon in the far north and south
Yeah I can agree with you - in some way - that you've come to a strange place when you come to somewhere were the sun STARTS setting in the north. That place is for sure NOT on this planet. But if you've come to a place where the sun ENDS setting and STARTS rising - hence the sun's path lowest point - in the north.... well.... then you know that you have come to the right place - which is called the planet Earth - and it's northern hemisphere. I repeat: Anywhere on the northern hemisphere will the sun's path lowest point always be in the north. If you have the sun's lowest point above the horizon - well then you have what's called midnight sun..... and you have definitely come to the right place which is called the Arctic.... I hope this can help a little with your confusion around the issue of the midnight sun....
I always wanted two things to see from my childhood. One is Aurora borealis and another one is night sun in norway. Till today I pray to Lord Krishna To grant these wishes. Jay Shree Krishna. 🙏
We use dark curtains to block the light outside. For some people is difficult to get used and sleep. I particularly LOVE this time of the year, it gives me so much energy and i like to go out for late walkings or runnings after dinner ,close to midnight. The light is amazing. I live in the Arctic circle as well, but more up north than Bodø 😊
This is phenomenal! I wanna see it with my own eyes someday.

As for having a 24 hour long night, I agree, it must be annoying, but a day without sunset... I'm all in!
