    Great video, David! I'm thinking about upgrading to this unit speciafically for the bluetooth connection capability. Do you have any feeback on sound quality when connected via Bluetooth as opposed to having the receiver connected to your smartphone? Thanks!

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Here’s what I’ve found:
      1) Receiver Audio Quality > Bluetooth Audio Quality.
      2) On iPhones, it doesn’t work with the native camera app yet (probably will be fixed in firmware update), but works with apps like BlackmagicCam (since you can select audio input source)
      3) I think on Android devices it works with the native camera app, but I don’t have one to confirm, I think even on Android it’ll still sound worse than using the receiver, audio quality could be fixed in a firmware update but that’s to be seen.
      Ideally, I’d still use the receiver for best audio quality possible!

    Thanks for the info! We edit short and reels, I recommend the DJI Mic 1 all the time to our clients who are making short-form content. But their typical set up is to plug in the receiver into their phone (they record their video using their phone). Just to be clear, the 32-bit float feature is negated with that setup, correct?

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 месяцев назад

      Correct, it only works if you're recording directly to the transmitter, so that means they'd have to sync it in post. I still recommend it as a good mic with the receiver, just no 32-bit :(

      @@DavidZhou oh thanks 👍🏻 But there is still no point in upgrading for those using the first version.

    • @purplesocialoctopus
      @purplesocialoctopus 5 месяцев назад +1

      @hasankaragoz I'm guessing you have never used 32-bit float. In many shoots, it is like a superhero and quite literally saves the day for audio recordings - usually when people speak too loud and soft, or if loud noises hit. I will ALWAYS choose 32-bit float whenever possible - and gladly pay the premium - worth it's weight in gold.
      If you always have controlled environments with skilled speakers at even volumes, or aren't a professional working in a variety of scenarios, then sure - keep the OG. But just think about David taking it to NAB 2024 and throwing a mic on random people in a loud room - in just that one example alone you'll quickly see the value.

    • @hasankaragoz
      @hasankaragoz 5 месяцев назад

      @@purplesocialoctopus Just because it is 32 bit does not make the device perfect. In addition, errors of the device have already started to be shared on many independent channels. You won't be wasting your own money if you don't just stick to sponsored videos.

    • @purplesocialoctopus
      @purplesocialoctopus 5 месяцев назад

      @@hasankaragoz I agree, 32-bit doesn't make a device perfect, it's only one aspect. But what "errors of the device" are you referring to? I haven't heard anything yet, would love to know.
