I was in the exact same boat as you. Never had an interest in God of War. A few days ago I started GOW 2018 and it blew me away. The growth and bond that Kratos and Atreus experience almost brought me to tears at the end. I’m really excited about Ragnarok. It must “be better”.

In this term "reboot" he probably meant in terms of gameplay. The gameplay is different in this game than previous God of War's so you could use the term "reboot" as way to "reboot" the gameplay mechanics and how the open world is done.

I've played them all. Expect for Betrayal we never talk about God of War Betrayal. God of War 2018 is just as good as the previous ones all the God of War games are fan fucking tastic especially God of war 3 I'd would definitely recommend you play the Greek God of War games it's a whole other world.

I see a lot of people calling them "button mashers" and that kratos is "one dimensional." To see this new game DOES bring people to try the older ones does make me happy. On a side note, god of war 2 is directed by the same person that directed 2018. Many people say 2 is their favorite (mine is 3 but 2 is fun and I love speedrunning it). I think you'll love this series.

Hey bro, in my last video I break down odins entire plan for ragnarok, and its all in 2018s game. Trust me u wont be disappointed. I promise i can cook.
Some footage was not my own but were credited. Though out of all action games I played 2018 had combat I enjoyed lots. The older GOW footage tho was not mine of course lol (also that footage recorded was so early on but I was more or less pointing out how different it was from something like Devil May Cry or other more fast paced action games)
Well it is lacking. Compared to the previous entries or DMC where everything that you can do is just requires a simple button press and execution, in this, a large amount of attacks are behind menu screen inside the build section. The game ends up taking away options that would've been active in the combat to prioritize more rpgesue builds. That's why it feels lacking on high level play. P. S played it 4 times, twice on hard and twice on give me gow. I do like the game but the limiting factors do tend to get in the way often.
@@bruhder5854 As someone who didn’t get deep into the original games but slashed away at demo’s on a psp, I must give way to your more informed opinion of the previous games’ combat system. And I must agree that pausing the game to change out of the armor or pommel I want because I have to be able to throw my axe farther or whatever does get old quite quickly. But since I pretty much have everything I want on my Kratos I didn’t deal with that issue as much as other people.

That's fine though, again this is coming from a person who "Never played a single God Of War game" and I have fully beat 1 now and can say so far I enjoy both games. 2018 is just a much different game but it's scope & emotional weight is a lot more impactful. Respect your opinion though since I feel this way about Bioshock Infinite 😭
