Possibly my favourite of your reactions and whilst it's impressive to hear Knox Hill try to break the bars by ear, sometimes just having the lyrics is easier and means you can focus on the other technicalities. I think I've only seen one other reactor comment on the "fine art - van gogh" line which is important a) because of the meaning but b) sets up the "making my m-ark(t) like frankie sin-art-ra, king call me art-hur" scheme... And you're the only person I've heard to pick out the backing bits the "get 'em"... Good job and Go Sharks! Don't know who they are but great hat 😊
Yeah, "What You Want" is totally Beastie Boys style/homage. :) You really need to listen to "Losing It". 😁 I think that one has his fastest bars yet. It is something else. Unlike most of his music (but like a couple of others), they underlying beat/music is from someone else's song. An EDM type track, which he remixes and raps over. It's amazingly good.
Losing It and What You Want are 🔥👍👍 Got in last minute and great reaction!! Think hes got more coming to get us blown away. He's certainly studied genre's so well.
Amazing work with this one man! You caught everything like Knox Hill certified level with a great musician's insight in addition to all the lyrical breakdown. I really think if this one was more your style that Ren - Losing it ( FISHER rap retake ) should definitely be next.
My favorite of his is honestly hard to pick. But I love the heartfelt ones with Chinchilla. This is my favorite rap song of his. Thank you for the kind words as always!
"Poison in my veins......." The bacteria from Lyme Disease that lives in the blood stream. He referenced it in Animal Flow too. It causes psychosis due to the damage to his brain.
Hell yeah! Dope reaction my dude. So, if there’s a consensus in your community suggestions for next Rap Ren to be “Losing It” - I wonder if anyone else would agree that listening to part of Fisher’s original EDM track *first* is helpful to bring a different perspective to the dopeness of Ren’s mind blowing ability to find rhythms & flows.
I have tried to respond to this at least 3 times but RUclips isn't letting it register. here is once more: Both of those are going to be soon along with Genesis the Acoustic version. Losing It definitely had the most requests so I am going to probably do that one first.
The beginning section talking about Frankensteins monster plays into this song too. Different cadence's, flows, beat changes. This is still my favorite example of his rap skills. Hold on is a classic too. Life is funny and his love music 2-3 are crazy too.
Definitely. I feel like a lyrical analysis is something I like to touch on but not so a deep dive. We got Knox Hill for that and he's better than me at catching stuff.
@@mcflyjp You were quite good at it though. But I understand you are focusing more on techniques and general analysis and carving your own niche. Big Ren fan that usually doesn't listen to hip hop here (like many of his fans), so this was educational and fun for me.
The amount of flows in this one also attributes to the monster Frankenstein created. Body parts made a monster..his flows represent the many parts of song🔴🔴🔴
This was the first rap I heard by Ren and I think it will always be my favorite! Then I heard Losing It and it became my no. 1! But I also fell in love with his rap in I Love Music 1-3! Then I heard Ocean and was wowed also! And Jessica blew me away shortly after! I guess I just love all of Ren's creations! Love your detailed breakdown 😊😊

Now try his songs “Genesis”, “Losing It”, “Life is Funny”, “Right Here, Right Now” (Fatboy Slim one shot retake) and “Wildfire”. AND for OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP rap, “What You Want” !!!
Really nice analysis! This is technically excellent, but i so love the beats and visual power of Illest. It just seems like he is growing into his personal power as he us releasing the songs from this album.
This is my favorite Ren song to watch reactions on as it really shows how brilliant a rapper he is. Reall enjoy the depth of your analysis, amazing man 💖
Nice one, McFly! I agree with you that this song is great for each of his skills, but as in life, sometimes the vibe can beat the skill, so some can feel/relate more to any of his other song because of that, and that's why he's amazing! Thanks! You did it great!
I got totally different view of this song with 20+ film and book references in the lyrics and visuals, then in context of each bar the references are describing himself. With every change of rap style/beat hes re-emphasising/highlighting his feelings, struggles and lessons in relation to the references to ultimately concludes his mindset. Incendiary song!
Cool reaction. I have to agree with other comments in that "Losing it" and "What you want" are ones to check out...they're Ren just having fun...but also check out his "Bittersweet Symphony" and "Right here right now" retakes for the nostalgic throwbacks. Whatever you choose just enjoy the ride...and you'll come to realise that Ren is his own Genre just like we all have. Have fun and stay safe.
@McFly JP I know you'll get to both eventually! Losing it is a lot of fun, it's upbeat and even funny at times. Genesis has a deeper meaning and is just so good. Really you can't go wrong either way 😊
0:34 Morning bro (it’s 649am here Berrima NSW Australia) wow another awesome reaction, thank you, again you pick up so much that sooo many other reactionists don’t, not dissing them just saying everyone hears something different…. and everyone has a different style when communicating their own thoughts, I love Knox and also B Pegasus but for me you touch me and you make so much sense to me, I wait for your reactions more than I do anyone else, thank you……. 100% Genesis this is one of my favourites and I don’t even know why, it just hits me…. please consider doing the live acoustic version against the video version, many have done the vid version but I have read in the comments of those and lots say the acoustic version is better…. Anyways just saying, and agin thank you, take care, Daz
There is a lot of cross-over between Rap and Metal for a reason. Their message, whil coming from different cultures, are usually very similar. And the upbeat style is also similar.
No need to play favorites. I just enjoy them all. I think back to a few months ago, and I can't believe what a treasure trove of great Ren music I've stumbled across. I've not felt this way about a musical artist in a very, very long time.
So.. I've been watching a bunch of video's back to back at the moment, and your analysis are getting better each video. Love to see it man. Also yeah Primarkt is a clothing store. Ren is a genius.. I feel this guy is going to take over the world. His style is so unique, and he chose a insanely good time to launch all of these video's. Let's see where he will bring us. Could you possibly reply to Losing it (Fisherman retake), Genisis & Money game part 1 & 2? (All from Ren). Keep up the great work!
Wow thank you so much man I really appreciate that! Yeah losing it is probably going to be the next Ren track that I do after Bibi, and then probably Genesis. That, I've been wanting to hear that song for a while now. Money game is definitely coming I will say that I've heard part of money game part 2 by accident when I was listening to a playlist on a road trip realize it was him and turned it off.
I don't see a reaction from you for Ren's video Crutch (with Bibi). It is completely different than his other stuff (I say that for everything he does). It was written about 6 years ago before he had his Lyme's diagnosis when he thought he was losing his mind. He explains what it's about on his community page but I've seen several different interpretations so I don't want to influence your impressions. He was definitely younger when he performed it but it is just as powerful as his current stuff and hauntingly beautiful. It's my favourite Ren and should be played on every radio station everywhere.
@@mcflyjp He got a playlist for it and The Hunger is the oldest song from it, so yes. But Hi Ren is not in there so I am not sure how this is gonna be handled in the end.

As I said in chat, the only problem with this song is that it’s not long enough. I come back to the start too quickly when I put it on repeat 😂 Seriously one of my favourites from Ren. Along with Crutch feat. Bibi which is a completely different style. So so beautiful though. It’s a stunning piece of raw emotion. This man is just multitalented and limitless. Can’t wait for Animal Flow!

@@mcflyjp yes…been through the entire roller coaster with this damn team. Almost bought tickets to watch them retire Marleau’s jersey 😢. Curious to see what will happen during the off season…
I feel like this is more impressive than Illest of our Time" - yes, same. Love Illest, of course! But The Hunger's a different beast (Frankenstein/monster line = Ren stitched this song together from all these different flows) "All these seeds that I've been sowing slowly growing like trees" - I'm a serious gardener (food is revolution) and this line hit me SUPER HARD when I heard the song for the first time. It's the kind of metaphor that I use from time to time myself, because I'm a gardener, and because I believe food is so incredibly political... but running across it in Ren's rapping was powerful. I'm not even into rap. I might have said this before - the only rap album I've ever owned was Ill Communication, and I bought it the year it came out, so that tells you how LITTLE I've been into rap. But I'll listen to Ren's rapping all day long, now. Regarding where to go next for Ren's rapping - there's nothing else like The Hunger. Money Game is my vote for next Ren track. It's another knock-it-out-of-the-park rap track with super serious lyrics. Part 1 often runs on loop in my brain (love Part 2 too, but Part 1's message + its video were SUPER impactful for me). OH - not rap, but Heretic. Not as many reactors have touched Heretic yet (last I checked a couple of weeks ago anyway) and I *LOVE* it. I think you will too. It's like a low-key prequel to Sick Boi (with Sick Boi being a prequel to Hi Ren). Except not rap. Losing It is a TON of fun (and FOR SURE impressive of course, don't put it on a backburner list or anything) but even though it's incredible, it's more playing with "boastful rapper" lyrics (idk, maybe it's just me that's less interested in those messages - I'm absolutely going to listen to it and enjoy it when it's Ren, but I generally find that kind of subject super lame). I think what The Hunger is to me is - it's the OTHER place where we encounter Ren just taking constant unexpected left turns in the track (the closest we get to come to experiencing encountering Hi Ren again). Sure, he changes his flows impressively in other tracks too, but The Hunger's where he really just... keeps them coming, before you've even had much of a chance to settle in to one. Loved your reactions & breakdowns & analysis here, btw.
Hm, RUclips lost what I'd said about Genesis. Amazing song! Love it! Both versions! Can't wait until you get to it! But it doesn't do what The Hunger does (and I enjoy watching Money Game reactions even more than Genesis reactions).
The great thing about Ren is that there is so much to go through with his stuff. I just have to figure out the order. Losing It and Genesis will be soon!
This is impressive but "Genesis" is my favorite Ren rap so far (haven't seen them all) and maybe "What You Want" for the shout outs to 1990s hip hop and its just fun.
Someone should propose this man for the grammy's... No one can deny that after "Hi-Ren" he emerges as "the" 2023 revelation judging by the millions of views of this work and all the rest of his discography.
The Grammys are a joke to be honest. I remember when Arcade Fire got "Best New Artist" and they were on their 3rd album. He doesn't need a Grammy to define him.
@@mcflyjp Thanks for the answer. No, he doesn't need it. But the man deserves an award, because he already has fans... me included. At least he could use it to shove the trophy down CNN's throat!

I think you'd like them busking times, wish we were all there when Ren pulled up with them
Hey Pita. It's in my radar and I will be getting to it as soon as I can. So much Ren stuff to get to.
GO SHARKS! I mean some day maybe. 🦈
Lol. Remember when they were in the playoffs every year but just couldn't get to the Final?
@@mcflyjp yes…been through the entire roller coaster with this damn team. Almost bought tickets to watch them retire Marleau’s jersey 😢. Curious to see what will happen during the off season…
I want to see you react to the actual band McFly.
Haha its coming. Let me know what song!
I feel like this is more impressive than Illest of our Time" - yes, same. Love Illest, of course! But The Hunger's a different beast (Frankenstein/monster line = Ren stitched this song together from all these different flows)
"All these seeds that I've been sowing slowly growing like trees" - I'm a serious gardener (food is revolution) and this line hit me SUPER HARD when I heard the song for the first time.
I would suggest the songs ren did with eden nash. All are good, you can pick the one you want.
🔥🔥
This is impressive but "Genesis" is my favorite Ren rap so far (haven't seen them all) and maybe "What You Want" for the shout outs to 1990s hip hop and its just fun.
I'm definitely gonna get into all of them. But Losing It is up next!
@@mcflyjp - Fair warning: its NSFW
Lol we've had plenty of that on the channel!
Toblerone is a chocolate bar, he swallows the bars
I believe I said that in the reaction. I used to have a secret stash of Toblerones at my old house.
@@mcflyjp you’re right, I missed it on the first go round. Listening and working~
He is Frankenstein, Frankenstein *made* the monster. (Though really Frankenstein *is* the monster, the thing he made was his victim.)
Damn. That was deep, actually. And very true!
He swallows the toblerone… bars. Toblerone bars… bars… 🫠
Haha damn even after 100 times I didn't even catch that. Hard to catch everything.
@@mcflyjp So true! I myself got it thanks to a reaction video!
You should listen to OCEAN, LOVE MUSIC PT. 3, GENESIS
All of these are on my list and I can't wait to get to them.
Maybe Genesis, will be REN’s favourite rap song
It's his favorite? I'm gonna do Losing it first then probably Genesis. But I am going to be doing another Ren song first.
@@mcflyjp I meant it will be yours favourite Ren rap song.
losiing it next pleae...yeah go down that ren rabbit hole
Losing it will be the next Ren rap track after his new one in Thursday!
A Nobel peace prize?
@@mcflyjp Ah Ah!... Why not?!... Since they don't have the music category only if it was assigned in the literature category... And hey!... There was already a musician at whom it was assigned!...
Who am I to criticize the jury's learned wisdom!?
I've already seen a lot in this world!
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Another premiere of Ren awaits us in a little while. I can't wait for the time to come.
All the best...
Huh? A toblerone is a whole candy bar!?
Yeah a large one though. Like the size of a babies arm.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toblerone
@@mcflyjp LOL
@@susiejo143 may seem like a no brainer but we don't have those in the states as far as I know.
@@mcflyjp ya I know I'm from and in Michigan but I've seen Toblerone at the store before🤷♀️, not often though
This song is a lot of fun, but Genesis is my favorite rap track
Definitely in the list. Gonna do Crutch then Losing it then Genesis
Loosing it is a cool track!
This has been highly requested in the comments so will be the next Ren rap track I react to.
Red and green smoke = color of airplane landing lights???
Possibly the colours of the Welsh flag where he is from?
This band the most sense to me
Genesis is my favourite.
I'm looking forward to doing that one too
See this is what you call rap music
Rap music, the good kind at least, always had meaning behind the lyrics. And was always somewhat poetic.
@@mcflyjp exactly you can tell he's been listening to old rap this is what we need right now
@@htown77013 We know it but the mainstream production companies does not! Shame.
Who cares people who knows music will know what this is you don't need a record deal
Primark is like H&M or GAP. Cheaper than them though.
Ahhh ok. I've only heard it once before this so wasn't sure.
Ren ft. Eden Nash - Ocean...
Yes I'm actually excited for this one!
For me, Ren's best rapping is in Losing It. You're missing out if you don't hear it :)
That's the next Ren rap track after Animal Flow.
@@mcflyjp I was thinking of contacting some media ppl (I work in the media) suggesting they cover Ren, then I thought: no, the mainstream isn't where he makes the most impact. If it happens, so be it, but I don't want to be responsible for it
I think you should leave it up to Ren. Mention this and say you want to help but not overstep.
im subscribing love the reaction can you react to Dir en grey zakuro live its about the singer relationship with this girl he dated and fiance she cheated and left him for a band members he use to be in called la
sadies here's the link to the song

Thanks for the sub. You didn't send the link but I'll look it up and get it on the list.
@@mcflyjp k thanks the channel name for the video is in kaya's channel
My god pause pause pause and can’t hold it till the end
We break down lyrics here on the channel. The original is always there to watch in it's uninterrupted form.
Sorry, this is a little too start-stoppy for my adhd ass. Nice insights but maybe let it flow here and there to retain some of the continuity? Or not, of course lol. Cheers.
This is honestly the first respectful (stop stopping it) comment I've seen. I have issues remembering points, so If I don't say something when I think of it its lost.
@@mcflyjp Ha, honestly, it's not you, it's me. Cheers.
@@horsehollerer got a touch of that myself - so I mix in reactors like BrainSqueeze, who’s proudly ADHD AF ! Though he ain’t done much Ren… and yes, you posted one of the most polite comment I’ve seen 🙏🏼
Any time you start a sentence with "He said...." DON'T!! I heard it too, I understand English....I don't need it repeated to me...what you think I am an idiot??
Lol dude why are you so angry? We talk about the lyrics here. And not everyone here's everything that's said.
