I dunno maybe. I mean it doesn’t need it, but it might be cool. :)
I see a number of people recomending moving the centre of gravity forward to improve the flight characteristics, but the battery (probably the heaviest item on the plane) is way forward in the nose.
If you look at the side view of the plane there are two positions for assembly of the tail, the lower horizontal one, is for gliding and the upper steeply angled one, is for loops (or gyrations as it says on my one). Why the constructor chose the upper one I have no idea.
On launch the plane has sufficient thrust to fly but immediately starts to climb into a loop. Not having sufficient power to maintain this climb it stalls, falls out of the climb but recovers just before hitting the ground. On recovery it then starts the same sequence all over again for as long as it stays in the sky.
I would like to see how it flies when trimmed for a gliding flight.
Hey I was confused about this also, however, I believe it is because if the tail was in the lower slot at max power it would be going straight not pulling up, so eventually would just go into the ground. Not to sure though

I'm planning to do the same. This looks like the smaller 14" version glider. If it is the larger 17.5" glider, maybe doing a pusher brushless 1 motor mod instead ?
Mine just falls to the ground nose first during launch. Either to the right or left nose first

That's outstanding. I bought a few of the same gliders and I will turn them into rc planes as well. I have way heavier gear though. 1000W motor, 3-4s battery a few servos.

Great video! But is there a way to increase the differential, because the wind is usually pretty strong, so the control over the turning is not very good.

Súper. The plane is tail heavy need the battery further up front. But it's just awesome! Yesterday I was looking into that exact glider...2 USD. Will most def. give it a try. Can you share the distance you placed the motors from the fuselage please? Great project.
As a note, moving the motors a bit further out could improve the turn in. Just a matter of experimenting.

the reason why it is tail heavy is that the tail plane is not on the correct fitting and its trying to do loops. put it on the bottom hole and it will fly straight

I've been trying for a long time to find this kind of video with proper links for a 2 channel plane fantastic video. Is there any place that does curcuit board for a controller I already have
There's a great way to get a hold of all the required insides for a small two channel like this and that's to get a Walmart/cheap rc helicopter with extra tail props. Take out the two motors and put them on the wing just use the extra helicopter tail props for the airplanes props and it will already be setup as a differential thrust 2 channel.
I wouldn't make the plane any bigger than this guys though. I once made one from foam plates. Good luck!
