True, this one scene shows the loneliness, respect for his role in the monarchy, and deep sadness at his probably never being able to experience love. I love the “You’re incredibly thick…” comment as Henry just walks up and kisses him. His later comment that “Henry kissed me, in a way that made me understand the difference between rugby and football.” was also perfect.

I absolutely loved this movie, Henry wasn’t expecting Alex to kiss him back, that’s what shocked him and caught him off guard anyway taylor and nicholas were so great as Alex and Henry, great chemistry and sizzled together onscreen, my fav is romcom dramedy right now, I hope we get a sequel

Most gay movies are heartbreaking and depressing. It gives a notion that gay ralationships are momentary. Exhibits A: Call Me Your Name, Brokeback Mountain. But this one gives a hopeful & happy vibe. Like that movie "Shelter." Love this movie. I just can't watch it with my wife & kids.

I watched it twice as well, and remarkably found things in the second viewing I missed in the first. When you focus on their nuanced performances, it is quite wonderful! As "straight" actors playing gay characters they did an awesome job!
I think the thing that draws me back to this film over and over is the music, the acting and the care and thought went into the production. Its the most beautiful love story I have ever watched and the intimate scenes reflect in the love between the characters. The fact that Nick and Taylor were able to portray the characters and make thier love so authentic is to me magical. I love when I watch the youtube videos reading other people's comments and being able to go back and see guestures and actions i might have missed but most of all I love the fan base for the film. Its the most beautiful community to be part of. ❤
I love that it's just like the book: Alex not only reciprocated but continued "until the air was out of his lungs", but Henry broke the kiss 😔

A detail I loved about this movie is that both Alex and Henry are very masculine guys but they're still gay. There's this stereotype for gay men that they're very feminine and it can be true for some gay men, but people seem to think all gay men are feminine when that's not true. I'm glad they showed that masculine men can be gay too.

Has anyone noticed the dates of Alex's messages to Henry? From 2nd Jan to March. Henry kissed Alex, awakened his feelings for him and then just disappeared. Poor Alex. 😂😂 Can only imagine how hard it could have been for him to wait three long months just to see the Prince again! 😢
I have thought about this too much and I have wondered how long he had to wait. Before the new year's eve party Zhara says the prime minister's dinner is next month so in my head it's January when he should see him again and I am sure that's what it says in the book. 😊😊

@@p.s.5yeah, I’m in the middle of watching the movie again, 😊( only 2nd time, but also 2nd rereading) and I hadn’t quite realized (the first time) the absolutely devastating, dejected look on Henry’s face, after Alex has kissed the girls. The streamers were a little in the way ( in the scene.) They were just falling all over him, ( Alex) and the look of utter horror on Henry’s face was so painful and obvious. My heart hurt for him there. 😭🩵 in an alternate script, do you think Henry was hoping in that moment, that Alex was going to lean into him and kiss him at midnight? Bc Alex wasn’t quite there yet ( mentally)

That was one of the single most poignant moments in film making. The chemistry (whether natural, which I personally think it is, or beautifully executed) is one of the most touching on-screen moments I’ve ever seen.

Thats what I first thought....the hair grabbing was the best...As a son of such a famous Person you know so much people who are not honest with you. They all want to be only someone who knows the son of the Mrs president but this grabbing was a real emotion for Alex and how he really is..

We'll get a sequel. There's almost as many likes for the trailer as the *second* season of Heartstopper (that is to say RWRB had more of an uphill climb due to being the first installment). Viewership ratings are already in and it's a hit.

I love the voice of Taylor, saying "Did I do something wrong?". It's a really small thing, but in the italian version, Alex seems more confident, and the line is just a question. In the original Taylor is able to give his voice something of insicure and sorry. And the question become something more, something like "I don't mean to".

I love this movie!!! I have watched it 4 times in 1 day and I cannot stop. The book and the movie are great. The chemistry between Nick and Taylor is off the charts!!! I laughed, I cried. Everytime I watch it I see more details and nuances that I missed. The love making scene was perfection!!! Never seen anything like that before. ❤️

The highlight here is obviously the kiss, and their relationship in general this movie. But the Nora/Alex buddy comedy dynamic is nonetheless unmatched.

One aspect that no one seemed to mention was how Henry ran away ftom Alex on several occasions. Its like he'd start it but ran when it it got too serious. But I ❤LOVE this couple!
There is so much chemistry between them and such a beautiful story to tell. I really do hope there is a lot more to come and I think there so many more stories to tell about there future lifes. Thanks Amazon for giving us this amazing film! 😊

The biggest mistake Amazon made was not making a miniseries with at least 6 episodes in order to have more time to develop the characters, especially the secondary ones. This could've been Prime Video's Heartstopper :( Well, there's still hope for the 3 hour version director's cut and/or a sequel 🙏🏻

To those who haven't read the book- Nora's line. "You've been like, completely obsessed with Henry for years." She doesn't just mean since they've met. In the book, Alex has a sister (June). She had always loved bringing home magazines like, Us Weekly, People magazine, etc to read. Henry has been in those magazines a lot because he's the prince. The book highlights the fact that Alex used to look at the first one he ever saw Henry in, when they were in their early teens. He would touch the page and try to imagine what Henry's hair felt like. He'd sneak into his sister's room to look at that magazine & June knew this but never said anything until they were together. He then remarks later how Henry's hair is as soft as he pictured from the magazine many years ago. Yeah.... Alex HAS been obsessed for years. He just never knew what it meant til Henry kissed him 🥰
Can we take a minute to truly appreciate that set piece... 😏 😉 😂
