    Tatsu is an elite coaster, I absolutely love how you’re so high up the entire ride, it’s very scenic. The pretzel loop is super intense and provides some nice contrast

    B&M flyers are such a fun and interesting model but their intensity and graceful moments make them one of the best rides in a park

    Tatsu is the only roller coaster of all kinds ever to cause me to gray out and almost black out, the G’s are intense, with hot weather, its smooth as butter, just a great ride all the way around, hits all the elements.

      @@AirtimeThrills I life an hour away from Phantasialand and will be on tatsu as my first b&m flyer ever next weekend (if it's running). So curious to see how they compare.

    • @aarons0683
      @aarons0683 2 года назад

      @@SICHTKRAFT I also live 1 hour from Phantasialand. I got to experience Tatsu in 2019 back then it was super impressed by it (wasn’t really a fan of the pretzel loop because it felt very uncomfortable and it doesn’t make any thematic sense).
      When I rode Fly for the first time in 2020 it kind of destroyed Tatsu for me, because it’s so much better executed and has so many creative Elements, that really felt like flying (not like the Prezel loop). It made me realise that Tatsu just took a few Standard inversions (while still been fun don’t take me wrong), but in comparison it’s just a bit uninspired.

    • @leyoshivenere350

      Yeah I hope Vekoma keep on doing this, maybe with a bigger one with Pretzel Loop, laying elements. Sadly none are currently are planned

  • @jmore5099
    @jmore5099 2 года назад +5

    Tatsu goes down as my personal favorite coaster, period. A zero-G roll on a flyer just makes sense and it's tragic they don't come standard on all the other flyers. And look at that pretzel loop, bow to that pretzel loop, it is your god now

  • @LilyWilkerson
    @LilyWilkerson 2 года назад +5

    Look at how much the track flexes at 1:51 😮 I've never seen that on a steel coaster before, goes to show how heavy flyer trains are...

  • @DavidBehlman
    @DavidBehlman 2 года назад +19

    Tatsu's lift always stands out to me as baller. The mountain sloping below you as you go up makes it a one of a kind lift. Those supports are so big, I feel like people walk by them and have no idea Tatsu is right above them.
    I've been dying to ride Flying Dinosaur, but this makes me want to try Starry Sky Ripper more.

    Honestly surprised by how much prime ride time Galatica has though the stats back up how it feels. It has some elements and descirbing a B&M as gentle feels odd but I would almost describe it as a relaxing flight around the terain within a subland of the park. Though my judgement is probably impaired by it being next door to Nemesis in all its right your gonna pull some G's now glory.

    • @oof3597
      @oof3597 2 года назад +1

      It is definitely what a flying coaster is supposed to be, a thrilling but relaxing experience as you soar over pathways, trees, people and etc. Also Galactica has a really intense fly to lie element that is severely underrated as it is very intense.

    The only thing I dislike about the B&M flyers is being stuck in the flying position on the final brakes, waiting for the next train to be dispatched. It looks as if Vekoma has solved that problem on FLY.

    Rode my first two flyers last year with Superman UF in SFoG and F.L.Y. in Phantasialand. Sadly missed out on Nighthawk in Carowinds cause it was closed when I was there (I believe it was closed most of the season).
    Superman was crazy intense and the pretzel loop made me grey out for the first time on a coaster.
    Fly was great and had some good airtime and gave me more of a flying sensation with it's layout, length and theming.
    They both weren't the most comfortable coasters for a tall, big guy like me. Fly's length didn't help in that regard.
    Still, would love to see more Vekoma flyers or B&M flyers in mainland Europe.

    The big surprise for me is that there's only 11 of them. I've ridden two now - the Superman at six Flags over Georgia and just recently Tatsu. I was completely unprepared for the pretzel loop on Tatsu, despite having heard that it's the largest. That's some crushing force that seems to last forever.
    I really curious why this model hasn't sold better than it has. I'm guessing because they came out around the same time as the B&M hypers, and parks tended to go with those instead?

    • @AirtimeThrills
      @AirtimeThrills  2 года назад +3

      They came out so popular...half of them were built in the first 2 years. I wonder if they turned out to be too complex/prone to breakage and parks looked elsewhere

    • @toyoracer33
      @toyoracer33 2 года назад

      @@AirtimeThrills are they really any more unreliable than other high-thrill rides though? My experience with Superman at SFoF is very minimal downtime - but admittedly that's just what I've personally seen.
      PS: ArieForce One looks amazing in person. I definitely recommend coming to check that out this year if you get to the southeast. It looks to be a solid mid-tier RMC or maybe better.

    B and M and Tatsu are probably the best flier built. Of course at my ex home park of Six Flags America in Maryland, the 2nd flier built, lie to fly VeKoma Batwing. I actually enjoyed it but could never get the transfer tracks to work all the time, so long waits when I use to go.

  • @coasteraddict10
    @coasteraddict10 Год назад

    I've only done Air and Manta but I think the B&M flying coasters are amazing and there's loads of untapped potential in the ride model that hasn't been explored properly yet and I wish more would get built to do so.
    The fly to lie on Air is crazy when it's running well and I'm surprised no other model has anything like that and of course the Pretzel loop on Manta is top tier.

    Reason: if you watch any interview with John Wardley (the designer of some of the greatest coasters ever built) he constantly mentions how he wanted it to have a sensation of flight, not speed/intensity.
