They don't allow food so I finished eating before I got there LOL. I brought the ointment that am going to use later. Just wanted to make sure I got the right ones.
What should I do for snacks, I’m on keto so I can’t have sugary things, do you have any other ideas that I could drink or eat that would still keep me from not eating the sugar or carbs?
The pillow tip my guy..... I literally just sat through 3 hours... butt cheeks on flamingo flame. I was saying my ass and tailbone hurt more than the tat.
Probably the most underrated item. I used to always sit through the pain of discomfort and numbness. I’d complain more about that then the tattooing. Once I started bringing a good pillow, it literally became like a different experience
Depending on location of the tattoo depends on clothing I bring. As a female I like to bring a button up or wear a button up so I don’t have to pull something over my head or to wear on the arm I’m not getting done. Also a small blanket because I tend to get cold.
Blanket is actually a great thing to pack!! You can find yourself freezing from not only the ac but your body being in a shock like state from the tattoo
Something that I think everyone should add to their tattoo bag is a pair of sunglasses. I just got back from a 3 day in a row outer leg sleeve at the All Stars convention and having those sunglasses was fantastic. Usually I bring them to shade my eyes from the circle light the artist uses (which works great) but this time it also gave me some more personal space since most of the convention there was a crowd of people watching me get tattooed. The sunglasses allowed me to check out when I needed to while looking like a badass hahaha. Also, I brought one of those memory foam neck pillows that you use on an airplane and that was absolutely amazing. I could manipulate it into any position I needed.
Paydays and OJ are great for appointments. I have Hypoglycemia, so my sugar drops frequently. The peanuts in the payday help you later, the sugar helps you now.
The stress ball and pillow sound like gold! Almost done with a full chest tattoo and I’ll be going insane! Some parts are a little uncomfortable and because the chairs are uncomfortable my ass be sore af lol
The stress ball is totally gold! I sit like a champ, and I've had some painful tattoos, but having the stress ball keeps me from flinching or getting antsy. Works like a charm! Decent meal a couple hours ahead of time then gummy life savers, mints and vitamin water for during. Works every time! Great video!
My 1st tattoo only took 40min so I didn’t bother preparing myself but now that I’m getting a tattoo from my shoulder to my elbow in 2 weeks that’ll take over 4 hours I’m kinda scared 😅 thanks for being so informative, it’s helping ease my anxiety a lot
My tattoo artist says she gets people in that say they were so nervous that they couldn’t eat or drink before getting the tattoo, she said that never ends well. Great video and great advice.

i'm getting my first tattoo Friday which also happens to be an 8 hour session hahahaha but watching these videos is helping me feel slightly better about what I'm about to be put through.
Thank you for the vid. Getting my 6th tattoo, except I've never sat in the chair longer than an hr maybe 1.5hrs. This new one im reserved for 4 hrs, so it feels like emotionally getting my first tattoo
I make sure I eat a good meal before I get tattooed. I bring a Snicker's Bar, since I'm a diabetic, if I feel a little light headed I eat it. If there studio doesn't offer drinks I bring bottles of water I can drink during breaks. I usually just like talking to my artist during the tattoo, if he doesn't want to talk then I usually listen to whatever music he's listening to. One artist every single to me. Sometimes I reached start fixing off. And yes being a pillow. I've had most of my tattoos on massage tables and have been twisted into a pretzel to access different areas. The body aches from being comforted often feel worse afterwards than there tattoo itself.
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I'm getting a sizeable rib/hip/thigh piece and I have my first session tomorrow! Its my first tattoo and I'm pretty nervous, but fingers crossed it goes well!!
Just subbed to your channel. I'm prepping to save up for my tattoo and get it in like the next couple months. I had to write a comment because 1. You seem so legit and no bs and that's important when watching someone for research. 2. I saw you had the think and grow rich book and i just thought, this guy knows what's up, he's on a different mindset. Cheers to you and love the videos!
I’m getting a new tattoo next week. It’ll be my 6th tattoo but it’ll be my biggest and longest session. My other have not been longer than 1.5 hours. My artist said 4-5 hours. This video was so helpful. Thank you so much. I feel way more prepared now. I’m binge watching most of your videos. Ps love all your tattoos. They are beautiful.
I usually bring things I can eat in a bite so I don't get crumbs all over, like chocolate covered peanuts and fried corn or salted banana chips. Always try to get something salty and something sweet, and a Gatorade and water. The Gatorade is really a life savior🙌🏻 haha
Very timely since I’m getting my first tattoo on my forearm tomorrow. It’s about a 2-hour session so hopefully won’t be too bad. Just nervous. 😬 I have bad fears of the unknown, like, things I haven’t done before that seem scary. Trying to conquer my fears by getting it done. My wife is getting one done tomorrow too, so we are braving it together 🤞🏻

I got a 5 hour session on my forearm on my 18th a few months ago. It’s worth it, isn’t even bad. I got my inner forearm done for the most part and apparently that hurts more. Part of my tat flows on to my outer forearm and that part was fake
That’s awesome Tim! You and your wife will walk out of that feeling like newer people for having a tattoo and facing your fear of the needle. Trust me it’s not as bad as you think, going to sting, but just make sure to distract yourself, breathe and you’ll be fine 👊🏼 Goodluck to you both tomorrow! 🙏🏼
JustINKD just got back from the shop with my new tattoo. The outline hurt a lot, particularly in the wrist and elbow areas. I almost passed out 3 times and I yelled just about every obscenity in the book as it was being done. My arm stings a lot right now. Didn’t shade in or color the letters but my artist did shading around the lettering and it looks badass. It took me by surprise at first because he started with the wrist and that was the worst part. I had to really will myself go keep going and I had to take a break and let my wife get hers done before I got the shading done. My wife got “Everyone is weird” on her inner left arm written in small letters and she didn’t flinch at all. She totally showed me up. 😂

Solid tips. I took a hip pillow for my last session which really helped with lying on my side for 8 hours getting a sleeve. Got my next session booked for this week, I'll definitely be whipping out a tripod 😂 Keep the vids coming, great stuff 👊

I know].. so I'm bringing my mum along so I have someone there to comfort me.. and numbing cream because if you're someone who doesn't deal with pain well it's handy 😅 but always double check with artist prior how they feel about clients using it 😁
A tennis ball 🎾. I sometimes get problems in my lower back when I sit in one position for any length of time. I sit/lie against/on the tennis ball and it deep-massages the area. To me deep massage is a sweet kind of pain and it kind of deflects some of the tattoo pain too!
Take this tip for yourself, If you're getting a long session done on your legs bring 2 pillows. One for the hip and the other for between the legs or head
I’m getting my first tattoo Thursday and I’m nervous but excited. Im binge watching all of your videos and I do feel more prepared. He said it’ll be 4 hours. Placement will be on my upper thigh I’m debating on bringing a pillow or not.
This has probably already been said, but if you are diabetic, like my dad who has 15+ tattoos, you will get low sugar, and have a mtn dew (my dad's preferred method or sugar) and PROTEIN on hand. Like, have someone with you who is willing to get you chicken nuggets or something if you start getting low.
For my last tattoo, when i went to get the back of my calf done, I knew i'd be on my stomach primarily and so for entertainment, I dug out my old nintendo 3DS. And until the last hour where i had to just focus on my breathing to get through the pain, that portable gaming came SUPER clutch with what i could do to pass the time, given of course the fact i was on my stomach.
I turn 17 in October and I wanted to get a tattoo for my birthday but I’ve decided I’m going to wait til I’m 18. And do more research and learn more about it before I do it
Hey justin! Big fan, I’m getting a half sleeve in a couple days and I recently have a very small pimple on my inner forearm now the artist is very good and pretty busy so I don’t want to reschedule especially so soon. Does anyone know if having that little pimple is gonna ruin the tattoo or will I have to go back for a second session for that spot when it’s healed?
Damn bro good video. You bring all the same shit I do in my tat bag. I also wear super comfortable clothes because I know I'm gonna be sitting for a while
Thank you so much man, I haven't thought of these things but it all makes sense. I'm planning on a sleeve and I really need to get a few things from your list!
Would it be alright to bring a small portable fan to help keep me cool? I'm getting inked in July and heading to Florida for it. I get warm pretty easily and the guy uses one of those bright lights when he tattoos.
I bring thick socks, cola and headphones🙌🏻 some typ off snacks also depending on my mood and in what country😅 I also recommend a big shirt and lose clothes all and all 🙌🏻❤️
Wasup bro I love your vids fr man , I have a suggestion tho. Could you make a video on what to do if you get tattoos on multiple parts of the body at once ?
Did a 6 hour session for side today mostly laying down on my left side. Sounds stupid but I brought my old ds and played Pokémon while he tattooed me, also was the first time trying a numbing cream, didn’t feel a thing on my leg/butt so for sure going to use again for shading on my ribs next one! Brought 2 small sandwiches as well as Gatorade and today went by super fast!
I already bring electrolyte water, snacks, and my iPad for Netflix, but I really gotta try that stress ball tip. Normally not a stress ball person, but some of those lines, I really just wanna squeeze something lol also YES! My last tattoo was my calf and by the end, the hip I was laying on hurt more than the tattoo lol
hey, i’m thinking about getting my first tattoo later on in the year. i’m almost certain it will be in honor of my aunt who recently passed away but i don’t know what i want it to be. i was just wondering if i need to know what i want before going in or can me and the artist figure it out together
My condolences to you for you loss. You don’t need to know, you can always go to an artist and tell them the reason why you want to get the tattoo. It obviously helps when you have an idea but you and the artist can always brainstorm ideas too
What essential items do you bring to your tattoo appointment?? 🤔
My sketchbook and a pen

I turn 17 in October and I wanted to get a tattoo for my birthday but I’ve decided I’m going to wait til I’m 18. And do more research and learn more about it before I do it
Off topic but love the mclovin ID and are you American or Canadian because I swear that money stack had both
I also wear super comfortable clothes because I know I'm gonna be sitting for a while
Going to get my first one in 2 weeks... really helping video Justin thanks !
That’s awesome ace! What are you going to be getting!? 👊🏼
Thanks for the info. This is actually a really helpful video
Just found your channel. I am planning on getting my very first tattoo ever.
Thank you so much man, I haven't thought of these things but it all makes sense. I'm planning on a sleeve and I really need to get a few things from your list!
Got a week before my first 4 hour session so thank you very much for this !
My essential snacks
•2 Red bulls/Monster
•Skittles
•Haribo Tangfastic

@@danielgomes5814 fucking swell I already want more
@@holdenc2636 that makes me happy brother. I’m getting my first done in about 16 hours.
Doing all my outside forearm
This was perfect timing ... got a five hour session tomorrow haha
Goodluck with it bro! What are you getting ?! 👌🏼
JustINKD i got an angel wing with clouds and light beams and the word shekinah it ended up taking 6 hours haha
Sounds awesome! Send me a pic of it bro! How was the pain?!
Would it be alright to bring a small portable fan to help keep me cool? I'm getting inked in July and heading to Florida for it.
I get warm pretty easily and the guy uses one of those bright lights when he tattoos.
would you recommend numbing cream for a first timer ??
I really respect the fact that he likes Ozuna 💯💯💯
Me, who’s getting their first tattoo and it’s a very small one that shouldn’t take more than an hour, watching this video: “hm… yes. Very interesting”
Getting my first Tattoo tomorrow
You should definitely make a new version of this vid ☺️
I’ve almost passed out twice from my blood sugar levels dropping, so I always make sure I bring lots of chocolate to my appointments!
I needed this.
I bring thick socks, cola and headphones🙌🏻 some typ off snacks also depending on my mood and in what country😅 I also recommend a big shirt and lose clothes all and all 🙌🏻❤️
Also recommend a sound book instead off reading cuz you can spaceout abit more
Going for a half sleeve in July. Was curious If one could still take snacks, Gatorade, etc. since the whole Covid stuff?.
Yeah that should be fine I really don’t see why not. It’s not another person
Binge watching all your vids today
Awesome. Thanks for showing love and supporting 🙋🏼♀️
I'd be scared as hell walking in the day of with reference photos lol
Wasup bro I love your vids fr man , I have a suggestion tho. Could you make a video on what to do if you get tattoos on multiple parts of the body at once ?
Yeah I can definitely put that on the list of videos 👊🏼
Come on bro! When’s this new sleeve coming?
What new sleeve? 😉🤫
JustINKD from the hints my guess is a Egyptian theme leg sleeve....
Jack JB The Goat good eye 😉
To my last tattoo I came with only my phone and it was 6 hours but the artist is a friend of mine so we basically gossiped around during that time 😂
Where was you when I got my first tattoo 2 years ago. I now have 10 soon today 11 next Tuesday x
I feel like I'd have to know my artist pretty well to bring a pillow
I never would’ve thought to bring extra clothes and socks but it definitely makes a lot of sense.
It’s a big one! Having extra clothes makes the process so much easier 👊🏼
I show up with my wallet my phone and a cardigan in case I get cold. If it’s a long session I won’t eat or drink anything until I am done.
Freaking McLovin 😂😂😂
You like that eyyy 😂😂
hey, i’m thinking about getting my first tattoo later on in the year. i’m almost certain it will be in honor of my aunt who recently passed away but i don’t know what i want it to be. i was just wondering if i need to know what i want before going in or can me and the artist figure it out together
My condolences to you for you loss. You don’t need to know, you can always go to an artist and tell them the reason why you want to get the tattoo. It obviously helps when you have an idea but you and the artist can always brainstorm ideas too
