My thoughts exactly. Devs don’t get the time they need to really learn how to utilize the hardware like they used to in the past. Just need gamers to stop begging for the next gen console
They already are. PS4 is still getting major games. Just this year they got Metaphor, Persona 3 Reload, Erdtree, Black Ops 6, Jedi Survivor, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, and several others.
I had my Xbox One for like 11 years, now I just bought the series X and I’m loving it, I still have the One, just elsewhere in the house so there is games everywhere lol
Bungie was running through Money too and not making a profit before Sony bought them. It's why Xbox passed on a Bungie purchase. It's frustrating Sony got caught with Bungie, though without Sony's purchase Bungie would have likely closed by now.

Analyst think that Consoles are going away for what, 20 years or so?! And the more you think about it, the less sense it makes. Because stuff ain't gettin cheaper at the moment and if the Consoles can stay at 500 or lower, they will surive and give you a better deal than PC...
Nobody is being stopped from using the console however they want. You could cook eggs on the CPU if you really wanted to and Sony couldn't stop you. They're being stopped from using PSN in specific ways, the playstation network, which has terms you agree to when you sign up and are prompted to agree to when they're changed to continue using the network. You don't have to read them, but you do have to adhere to them once you've agreed to them, and "but I didn't read it" isn't a defense. Maybe you shouldn't blindly agree to things you haven't even read, that's not their problem to deal with for you.
Never used the browser on PS5, but back when I had a PS3 before I had a computer I used teh shit out of it to watch anime and look at news and go around it was a great feature, its pretty bad for them not to include something a system two generations ago could do.
Gamers are really changing, they don’t care as much about cutting edge graphics. If the game looks good that’s perfectly acceptable, as long as it runs well. The need for new hardware is diminishing every generation of consoles. Real talk.

The struggle Xbox is going to have is they're constantly chasing trends. Phil Spencer flat out said they lost the most important generation when people were building their digital libraries, and he's right. Problem is, they tried to just flat out compete for the market share again while dancing around the xCloud game streaming. Meanwhile, Steam Deck hits the market alongside numerous other handheld PCs and now they start building their bases. If Xbox offered a Steam Deck equivalent instead of the Series consoles, or alongside them, I would've gotten a PS5 and an Xbox handled. But now they've decided to lean into 'Everything is an Xbox' after the handheld PC market already exists. They're once again going to be chasing an already established market who have spent 2 years now (minimum) building that Steam library.

This really pisses me off! I was sending myself URLs to guides to pin to the side. I used this all the time! I also often put a live stream pinned over there. They give us this pin to side feature and only allow it for ONE effing thing! None of the video apps pin! On PS4, I used the browser CONSTSNTLY! I got a safe driving course I had to take after I was caught speeding. I did the whole course, comfy and less stressed, from my couch using the PS4 web browser. Maybe, just maybe, Sony should get TF over themselves. Jailbreakers will always ALWAYS find a way. All they're doing is pissing off loyal PlayStation fans. My older PlayStations remain stock because connecting them to PSN for trophy syncing is important to me. Even my Vita is bone stock! I'll jailbreak them when Sony removes legacy consoles from the network. I'm not someone to worry about. But, I can't use one of my favorite features cause someone could jailbreak it that way. Unbelievable!
I already known an easy way to bypass this crap for jailbreaking. Just an adhoc WiFi with DNS that points Sony URLs to jailbreaker URLs. Further proves my point that itnonly serves to anger PlayStatoon fans
You do know you can connect jailbroken ps3, psp and vita to psn without issues right? There is absolutely no benefit for those consoles to remain stock. Ps4 only downside is I kept it on a lower firmware and don't connect to psn but I can sync everything ps4 on my ps5

i bought Days Gone on steam. it played ok until i ran into this bug where, when you try to ride your motorcycle, Deek just walks it everywhere. really slowly lol. he gets on and everything. just when you try to ride, he puts his legs down and walks the bike. whats also funny os you can hear the bike revving up and accelerating, but you're going nowhere fast. ive uninstalled and re installed to no avail.
@JReed7560 considering the steamdeck is essentially less powerful than even the ps4 and even Sony optimize ps5 games to run on it, i still think that's an achievement. I've heard days gone specifically was not very well optimized vs other nixes Sony games. A steamdeck 2 though will be brilliant and no doubt run ps6 games
@@DalazG Steamdeck 2 is unlikely to run PS6 games any better than the current is running PS5 ones. But, if Valve is going somewhere with the SteamOS thing, one may one day build a (still very non portable though probably) console with more comparable capabilities. Or better even.
@AltCutTV i think it's very doable. The ps4 was essentially a mobile chip, it was incredibly underpowered for it's time. The steamdeck being even less powerful and running ps5 games is an achievement (although with obvious compromises). Sony seem to be focusing a large part of the next playstation on ai over purely gpu driven according to mark corny, the steamdeck 2 will likely be even better positioned to run it's next gen games (although still with obvious small compromises). Valve are also reportedly working on a steam console. It's going to look bad for Sony to still be giving their audience a worse deal when the next steam console offers it all plus cheaper and free online

Ryan, I’ve been a PlayStation user since 1999 and I think after I get GTA VI, I shan’t be buying future generations after this. I may migrate to only steam gaming. Steam (and Windows) isn’t perfect either but I can’t support a platform that viciously tries to micromanage every step one takes and actively removes any form of personalisation. Removing themes was a very strange move, amongst other things.
Not sure why people complain about budgets being so big? Yall the same ones saying pay the devs more and such. Dev salaries make up the biggest part of the budget of any game so you got what you wanted. Devs get paid and games cost more to make sounds like everybody got what they agreed to.

Browser is essentially 3rd party software, not Sony developed. Chrome/IE/Edge etc are leaky and constantly found to be vulnerable - using this to get "root" on PS5 won't work out well for anyone.

Consoles as a central gaming platform dependency is a dying concept, and it's true also of this generation. I have bought every PlayStation since the original, but I don't have a PS5. Only a handful of Sony first party exclusives haven't made it to PC yet - BluePoint Demons Souls remake and Astrobot, but they will come without a doubt. This gen, I've just bought a PS5 controller and bought all the Sony games on PC. Sony is pivoting as well and will end up with no or very short exclusivity periods before releasing on PC because it will improve their game sales and profits. You used to buy a new console every 5-7 years because there were massive technological advances, but it doesn't happen anymore. Graphics are already really good. So what is a 'next gen' system at this point? To me, it's the fluency of the platform. None of this 'I bought a game on PS3 and it doesn't work on PS5' kind of nonsense, where you end up losing your games and/or saves somewhere along the way over the years, have to rebuy games, etc. It needs to be like Steam. Your games and saves all in one place, hardware agnostic, one time digital license purchase on a reliable long term platform. To some degree it's what Microsoft are trying to do by moving towards 'we are a SaaS platform' with XBOX Game Pass and giving up first party game exclusives on their console. Also with how they have let players move their old XBOX games to digital copies, and first party emulation. If Sony's plan for PS6 is just 'sequels to successful IPs', they will see diminishing returns. Nintendo for that matter will see diminishing returns on Switch 2. I wouldn't be surprised if by 'PS7' the platform ends up as something like 'pay for this monthly service, a controller that connects to your tv, and here is a pre configured box you can buy if you want but you don't need to have one'
Feels like a 10min job do just disable links in messages. I don’t even understand why they become clickable links in the first place since there is technically no browser on the console. Which makes me think it is closely tied down to something else in the OS and would break other things
Nobody is going to be immediately suspended for sending one link. But if someone continues to do so after being told not to, of course action would be taken on the account. You agree to the rules, you have to follow them.
Funnily enough none of this would even prevent a jailbreak to begin with. Getting around safeguards is literally what hackers do. How they think that blocking google address in messages is gonna stop them is beyond me. You still have a functioning browser that can run javascript.

Switch 2 will probably dominate once again. It will be the only console with real exclusives, as i expect PlayStation to launch their games even sooner on PC and Xbox to go full multiplatform (it’s almost there already).
@@alexandrecl4331 you have every right for your opinion, but from a business standpoint, if you want to capitalize the offset costs for how expensive games are becoming, I would much rather the games to have a broader range, than the realistic expectations of it doesn’t meet sale goals, it could cause companies at risk with going bankrupt. At the this point, you just buy the platform you’re on and those features, more than the consoles themselves now. People need to realize the home consoles aren’t what they used to be, and never will again. Nintendo is the last one to stand strong after all these years.
PlayStation is already third party/multiplatform. they have their games on PC and one of their IPs is on Switch. the other being MLB the show on XBOX. and Death Stranding is also on XBOX now which is their engine and whenever you boot it up it says Sony Interactive Entertainment i wholeheartedly disagree with the idea of exclusives and i have been against them ever since i was a kid with Genesis , PlayStation 1 and Windows XP Laptop. it sucks , its stupid and thinking they are all that matters instead of you enjoying games with your friends on multiple platforms or even alone is going to keep you disappointed and miserable. i suggest you start playing games you like , wherever you like and not pay "Exclusives" any attention.

Nintendo has not always been a slightly offshoot console that was complimentary to your PC. That is a very modern phenomenon. It was around the early 2010's that they started fostering this image that they weren't "competing with other consoles".

PlayStation... Giving exclusives to pc and then increasing all prices and removing functionality and freedoms from theor own platform. I know we just had astro bot and i really loved that but it was just a brief reprieve from a normally dour generation. No big live showcases, no ps experience, 30th anniversary came and went with nothing big happening. Even the Kadokawa deal, they couldn't pull off 100%. We dont even have a Helldivers 2 Pro patch yet...which highlights that the console isnt so much of a priority anymore. Im very annoyed

Funny story about PlayStation and web browsers . Before I became and adult and started making my own money the ps3 was my web browser lmaooo I literally applied to my first real job using the browser
I used the web browser to write a paper during a time when I didn't have a computer. I emailed it to myself, then I would copy and paste it into Word while on the school's computers.
Haven't tried but I feel like a workaround for not being able to send URL's anymore could be going to Twitter (the way Ryan does at 6:05), then clicking a link through Twitter, so maybe sending one through DM's or something.

Im more than satisfied with my series X. I went into it expecting a better xbox one that can run most of the games on my shelf and it has done that and more. Between the 2 drives i use that net me about 4.5TB i have over 230 official games and plenty more on the developer mode side of things. Gamepass has gotten me into games I normally would not have tried such as subnautica and given me early access to games i was looking forward to before i had a chance to go out and buy them. Im enjoying S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 immensely right now. On the PS side of things despite giving Sony ample opportunity to take my money i see no reason at this point to upgrade from my ps4 pro.
I'm happier with my PS5 than with my Series X. There hasn't been anything Series X-only that I've been interested in purchasing. Forza, which is Series X only, requires an internet connection even for single player and I highly disagree with that. Indiana Jones also requires a download, and I was going to get that one on my Xbox, but now I'm waiting to see if the PS5 version does the same thing. The only new-ish game I actually enjoyed, which is also on Xbox One, is Halo Infinite.

Not entirely true. Nintendo never tried 100% to compete in the home console market, otherwise they would bring Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and all their handheld IPs to their home consoles. Wii U failed because of marketing and because they realize they could not sustain 2 consoles at the same time anymore because games are taking too long to make.

This really pisses me off! I was sending myself URLs to guides to pin to the side. I used this all the time! I also often put a live stream pinned over there. They give us this pin to side feature and only allow it for ONE effing thing!

On PS4, I used the browser CONSTSNTLY! I got a safe driving course I had to take after I was caught speeding. I did the whole course, comfy and less stressed, from my couch using the PS4 web browser.
Maybe, just maybe, Sony should get TF over themselves. Jailbreakers will always ALWAYS find a way. All they're doing is pissing off loyal PlayStation fans. My older PlayStations remain stock because connecting them to PSN for trophy syncing is important to me. Even my Vita is bone stock! I'll jailbreak them when Sony removes legacy consoles from the network. I'm not someone to worry about. But, I can't use one of my favorite features cause someone could jailbreak it that way. Unbelievable!
I already known an easy way to bypass this crap for jailbreaking. Just an adhoc WiFi with DNS that points Sony URLs to jailbreaker URLs.

i bought Days Gone on steam. it played ok until i ran into this bug where, when you try to ride your motorcycle, Deek just walks it everywhere. really slowly lol. he gets on and everything. just when you try to ride, he puts his legs down and walks the bike. whats also funny os you can hear the bike revving up and accelerating, but you're going nowhere fast. ive uninstalled and re installed to no avail.

@@DalazG Steamdeck 2 is unlikely to run PS6 games any better than the current is running PS5 ones. But, if Valve is going somewhere with the SteamOS thing, one may one day build a (still very non portable though probably) console with more comparable capabilities. Or better even.
@AltCutTV i think it's very doable. The ps4 was essentially a mobile chip, it was incredibly underpowered for it's time. The steamdeck being even less powerful and running ps5 games is an achievement (although with obvious compromises).
Sony seem to be focusing a large part of the next playstation on ai over purely gpu driven according to mark corny, the steamdeck 2 will likely be even better positioned to run it's next gen games (although still with obvious small compromises). Valve are also reportedly working on a steam console.
It's going to look bad for Sony to still be giving their audience a worse deal when the next steam console offers it all plus cheaper and free online

Ryan, I’ve been a PlayStation user since 1999 and I think after I get GTA VI, I shan’t be buying future generations after this. I may migrate to only steam gaming. Steam (and Windows) isn’t perfect either but I can’t support a platform that viciously tries to micromanage every step one takes and actively removes any form of personalisation. Removing themes was a very strange move, amongst other things.
Not sure why people complain about budgets being so big? Yall the same ones saying pay the devs more and such. Dev salaries make up the biggest part of the budget of any game so you got what you wanted. Devs get paid and games cost more to make sounds like everybody got what they agreed to.

Consoles as a central gaming platform dependency is a dying concept, and it's true also of this generation. I have bought every PlayStation since the original, but I don't have a PS5. Only a handful of Sony first party exclusives haven't made it to PC yet - BluePoint Demons Souls remake and Astrobot, but they will come without a doubt. This gen, I've just bought a PS5 controller and bought all the Sony games on PC. Sony is pivoting as well and will end up with no or very short exclusivity periods before releasing on PC because it will improve their game sales and profits.
You used to buy a new console every 5-7 years because there were massive technological advances, but it doesn't happen anymore. Graphics are already really good. So what is a 'next gen' system at this point? To me, it's the fluency of the platform. None of this 'I bought a game on PS3 and it doesn't work on PS5' kind of nonsense, where you end up losing your games and/or saves somewhere along the way over the years, have to rebuy games, etc. It needs to be like Steam. Your games and saves all in one place, hardware agnostic, one time digital license purchase on a reliable long term platform.
To some degree it's what Microsoft are trying to do by moving towards 'we are a SaaS platform' with XBOX Game Pass and giving up first party game exclusives on their console. Also with how they have let players move their old XBOX games to digital copies, and first party emulation.
If Sony's plan for PS6 is just 'sequels to successful IPs', they will see diminishing returns. Nintendo for that matter will see diminishing returns on Switch 2.
I wouldn't be surprised if by 'PS7' the platform ends up as something like 'pay for this monthly service, a controller that connects to your tv, and here is a pre configured box you can buy if you want but you don't need to have one'

Nobody is going to be immediately suspended for sending one link. But if someone continues to do so after being told not to, of course action would be taken on the account. You agree to the rules, you have to follow them.

Funnily enough none of this would even prevent a jailbreak to begin with. Getting around safeguards is literally what hackers do. How they think that blocking google address in messages is gonna stop them is beyond me. You still have a functioning browser that can run javascript.

At the this point, you just buy the platform you’re on and those features, more than the consoles themselves now. People need to realize the home consoles aren’t what they used to be, and never will again. Nintendo is the last one to stand strong after all these years.
PlayStation is already third party/multiplatform. they have their games on PC and one of their IPs is on Switch. the other being MLB the show on XBOX. and Death Stranding is also on XBOX now which is their engine and whenever you boot it up it says Sony Interactive Entertainment

With games becoming bigger and thus resulting in longer development times, the life cycles for consoles needs to be extended. Nintendo has not always been a slightly offshoot console that was complimentary to your PC. That is a very modern phenomenon. It was around the early 2010's that they started fostering this image that they weren't "competing with other consoles".

I wish they would update the Portal to glow orange like the Dualsense's when it is charging and turn off when fully charged. It's a little annoying to have to press the power button to see the charge state. I mean it's basically a Dualsense, just with a screen, so why can't they do that? Maybe in a future update.

Im more than satisfied with my series X. I went into it expecting a better xbox one that can run most of the games on my shelf and it has done that and more. Between the 2 drives i use that net me about 4.5TB i have over 230 official games and plenty more on the developer mode side of things. Gamepass has gotten me into games I normally would not have tried such as subnautica and given me early access to games i was looking forward to before i had a chance to go out and buy them. Im enjoying S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 immensely right now.
On the PS side of things despite giving Sony ample opportunity to take my money i see no reason at this point to upgrade from my ps4 pro.
I'm happier with my PS5 than with my Series X. There hasn't been anything Series X-only that I've been interested in purchasing. Forza, which is Series X only, requires an internet connection even for single player and I highly disagree with that. Indiana Jones also requires a download, and I was going to get that one on my Xbox, but now I'm waiting to see if the PS5 version does the same thing.
The only new-ish game I actually enjoyed, which is also on Xbox One, is Halo Infinite.
Subnautica was a free PSN game years ago. That's how I played it.

Not entirely true. Nintendo never tried 100% to compete in the home console market, otherwise they would bring Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and all their handheld IPs to their home consoles.
