Hey there Syd, we’re still loving your sounds in 2024!
Its mind blowing to think Interstellar Overdrive was done before Metal or Punk. Syd really was ahead of his time
"Remember me" more so, it's like Iggy Pop heard it and decided to make a band
I can't believe this was filmed in 1967. The video quality is amazing.
MaxPap keep in mind that analog film is way better than digital, don’t believe the marketing crap
Watch The Beatles music videos. Much better quality. But yes film can be much, much higher quality than modern 4K digital cameras. Seriously.
This is what restored film looks like.
MaxPap check out Led Zeppelin filmed concert “The Song Remains The Same”.. looks like it was filmed in 2018... but it was filmed in 1973
Analog film, if preserved, can easily be scanned at 4k, 8k, 16k. For an accurate likeness. RUclips is compressed
Syd’s playing… There will never be anything else like it.
Like Mephistopheles plays his Faustian fiddle!
Syd aka Rog was the best experimental guitarist I have ever heard. He is my favorite. I love their use of technology. They were a great band, especially in the sixties in my opinion.
they were better in the 70s but the syd era is m ysecond favorite Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and A Saucerful Of Secrets are my 5th and 6th favorite Pink Floyd albums
Syd, extraordinaire !
Syd, une étoile 🌟 est née une étoile s'est éteinte. Triste 😥.
También Jimi Hendrix era un genio con la guitarra
nick was so cute and syd & rick were hella gorg af
Agreed
I love how you say nothing about Roger LMAO
@@Laura-zw6bs roger is cute in a weird, dorky kinda way
@@Laura-zw6bs I'M A HUGE FAN I JUST DON'T WANT TO SAY ANYTH BC I LOVE HIM 😭 BUT HE'S CUTE THO JUST IN A WEIRD WAY LMAO
@@dark_star888 roger = hottest man alive periodt
Best incentive for inventing a Time Machine? To travel back to the sixties and see Pink Floyd in a small club venue. Great video!
Ufo club.
This has been my dream since I heard side one of Ummagumma!
I would go to the Games for May event
So happy we’re getting obscure songs and videos uploaded to the channel.
Ayyy you Will O' Neal?
Heck yeah my man. Guessing you're in the PF group.
Not that obscure, Pete Whitehead had a massive presentation at the British Film Institute and did loads of 60s music promos for bands like Small Faces.
i would hope interstellar overdrive never becomes obscure. it was, at one point, their signature piece
The things I see syd doing with that guitar in this video, tells you he was a genius.
Rog was very experimental with his bass as well👌
in 67 I was only 5 years old, listening to the song it is pure experimental music that over time will refine and explode into what it will be... Pink Floyd 🤙👅🤟
This is just the 1960s having fun and being creative. I Love it!
Thanks Syd for opening the door of success for the band
I really want to thank The Pink Floyd RUclips channel for the thought and planning that has been ongoing with releases like these. The curation of the bands work, in the hands and under the guidance of the band has been wonderful. It’s like I’m rediscovering my favorite era (early era) of the band all over again. Mad props!
Pink Floyd was so ahead of their time from day one they were the only band that could get into your head with the sound of their music
My personal favorite Pink Floyd era.
omg I can't even stress how incredible and precious this footage is.. "These are, The Pink Floyd!"
I enjoy seeing syd footage, since there's so little of it.
What a treat to see the boys at work at such an early age. Why did we have to wait 53 years to see this?
Great quality, it’s crazy how young the guys were here
51 years ago. We were all much younger then.
We were all possibly not even born then.
@@themoon7435 I was 1 year old.
Roger and Rick were 23, Nick was 22 and Syd was 20
Northville Tunnels I was only not existing
Priceless, historic Floyd footage!!
Coco esta en esto
..& I also love his purple blouse, & his grey trousers with the red t-shirt & his light blue sunglasses... 60's rules........ The original, authentic, genuine sound and dress code, as well. In love till the end of eternity.. RIP beautiful soul ..
Forever A Proud Floydie/Floydian!! Thank You Syd Barrett for creating all that you did with all of your craziness. Pink Floyd exsist and forever will because of you....S-shine on Y-you crazy D-diamond.. S-Y-D..
Interestellar overdrive... What an amazing song!
Absolutely it plays in my mind
This is "Nick's Boogie", but it's footage from the same session.
@@psychedelicpiper999 Happy to run into you seemingly everywhere. Seems we're Deep down the rabbit hole together. There is time to kill today. Time to dig another one.
Pink Floyd will live forever !
every day i learn bach, and listz and beethoven and chopin on my piano, but i learn all that stuff with this stuff in the background. i love syd, and pink floyd since i was 9 now i’m 15 and yeah, only 6 years, but i’m proud to give my life to a band that call the universe with few notes. i think that pink floyd is a gift from God and the Heaven. I met them thanks to my father and I think I'm even too small to ask such giant questions about the mystery of life, about time, about the reason of the world. but at the same time I am incredibly proud of being taken by this philosophy, captured in a network that will never break. proud to love you, and to understand you, even if not for long. this is the best thing that ever happened to me.
You're never "too young," even if you feel "small." 🌄 Just keep doin' you ✌️ Namasté 🙏
You should check out phish and the keyboardist page McConnell
Sad Phrogé you could not be more wrong, sure they took drugs like cocaine but who the fuck didn’t back then, they were not experimenting with psychedelics like their listeners
You have excellent taste, imo. Good luck in your formal music studies, too. Trust me, take those as far as you possibly can.
This is a great song , Pink Floyd is a great band, Syd Barrett is a great singer and guitarist
He was sure a good guitarist
@@annaritaranalli1791Underrated guitarrist, he Is One of the best! But never mentioned by rock magazines as One of the best
I agree
These recordings are so GOOD quality
These boyz could always capture a mood, right from the early days
This is what we need more of.
We need more syd videos!!!
4 geniuses at work.
Here too
Obviously not the same audio compared to the video, but it's so cool to see this footage remastered!
musica hermosa
No
Syd: I got removed from Pink Floyd
David: I am there for your band ❤️❤
Tal cual.
seeing Syd back in the day.... and these tracks this channel been uploading.... them out of this world tracks.... back then ahead of their time....now *DEAD* *ON*
Sorry but Pink Floyd became more famous after SID, yes he was good but only for such a short time. When David joined the group then they became more famous
and thats why i think Roger Waters left as they did not go down the same political road as he wanted. When he left they became one of the biggest bands ever.
Brum Kid syd you arrogant fuck
no estoy de acuerdo contigo tío pink floyd ya eran buenos 1967 lo que le pasó ha syd fue una tragedia el era un artista fue el fundador principal de la banda .
These are just the first 6 minutes. There's a longer 11 minute audio of both "Nick's Boogie" and a 16 minute "Interstellar Overdrive" on the "London '66-'67" release, which is about 27 minutes total. This video is an HD compilation of all the video footage of the band playing, while the "London '66-'67" release has other period footage interspersed with them playing.
I would shoot myself in the ear with hot wax than hear anymore of this. I am a huge Floyd though. This is just not my style.
Lisa Hansen then you’re not a floyd fan fuck off.
And Whitehead who filmed it and just recently passed, apparently was coerced into including the 'Floyd because he was sleeping with Syd's then GF.
Lisa Hansen It’s an acquired taste. My wife is a huge Pink Floyd fan but not “that Interstellar Overdrive stuff”. Me? I think it’s their best stuff! ✌️
@@patrickrasmussen2666 he was indeed
Syd i miss you 😭😭😭
Where did you see Syd Barrett in real life? How can you miss him without seeing him? It's weird actually.
@@tahabarcin I think she miss his musics, and you don't need to know to miss it
@@JoaoLopes-tf2dt She can not. Maybe she loves his music, but she can not miss his music. Literally it's nonsense. You should learn somethings about logic. Don't think that: When you protect or support somebody you'll be a hero.

I got this on old VHS from bout 1994/5. To nite let’s all make love in London. Still got it!
The drums keep it together😊
Seeing Nick Mason tonight!!! Cant wait!!!!
How was it?
@@effiemars_ Amazing. I didnt get into Floyd until 2011 so never did I think I hear legit live versions of interstellar overdrive or fearless. The show was spectacular. Hopefully he comes back to Arizona in 2022, or somewhere close like Vegas. I gotta hear Echoes live.
@@alphadrewaz88 how jealous, I was watching Nick Mason's SoS live yesterday and it looks like it would be a time capsule to be there. The psychedelia, those songs that Roger or David don't play anymore, the fun they have while playing
This is PURE GOLD!
Shine Syd Barrett
Shine you crazy diamond
Shine on

Enjoying seeing the instruments making the sound being played (even if not perfectly synched with the soundtrack)
Tenho 12 anos e amo pink Floyd só tenho a agradecer a meu avô por ter me mostrando essa banda maravilhosa 💕💕💕💕

Syd Barrett - Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Sorely Missed , Genius !! 👍
a little bit before my time ( born in 73) but every album has been such an influence since the day I first heard them, dad bought the wall the day it came out can still remember the first time I heard it😵
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 SIMPLESMENTE lindooooo obrigada !! Vcs do canal são demais ✌🏻🎸🎶💗🎸💃🇧🇷
AMAZING! THE BEST BAND EVER. MY FAVORITE BAND 😍
Syd was always my favorite! Wishing you an amazing day x)
R.I.P Syd and Rick 💙
What a quality! Incredible!
So young so talented
Best band of all the time
Wow that’s soooo precious!
Ahhhh...Syddy...along with his artistry and talent he was a work of art sculpted by the angels. Such a beautiful boy with that pretty little nose and sculpted lips and large Cleopatra eyes and arched brows and...PERFECTION! A beautiful magickal faery faun. So cute (adorable fuzzy 'stache, too).
And big Roggie is awkwardly adorkable with his plump lips, adorkable ski-jump schnozz and general groovy 60's geekiness. Big psychedeli-nerd horse-boy.
Ricky so handsome and prim and always a whiz with the keys.
Nick's always lovable.
what the fuck did i just read

So fckn cool seeing this footage with Syd, so beautiful. Back in high school I would have lost my shit watching this.
Thank you very much ❤
The last part is the most intense! Fabulous!
I love you forever Pink Floyd!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
I’m always perplexed when I see old footage of double kick Nick. It’s so incongruous to the type of music they were making & I can’t for the life of me think of a Floyd track where the use of 2 bass drums was evident.
Oh wow so so cool that's amazing
Thank you for sharing. This is top notch.
So cool wow thanks so young
OMG THANK YOU!! The other sources I've heard for this were so filthy dirty! Happy Easter, everyone over in floydy land!!
Freakin AWESOME ! Thanks for killer upload 👍👍
I’m surprised that Syd’s music isn’t seen as a precursor to Shoegaze.
Qué obra maestra, qué genios.
El sonido es cautivador y parece que estás sobrevolando las estrellas. Muy de esa época.
Wow!!!
So amazing!!!
They were the best playing Psychodelic rock!!!
Was hoping g to c another interstellar overdrive improvisation but instead get Nick's boogie which is also good
Hope they upload interstellar overdrive improvisation
Magnific 👏👏👏👏😍
I LOVE Pink Floyd!!!😍😍😍

I love the way when Syd use Dan Electro's

Wow, great footage!
That shot of Syd smoking something looked like a joint roach or something at at 3:49 lol. In general he seems baked or tripping, moving his body around in circles and all. Roger looks blasted though
I cannot imagine how Pink Floyd would have been if Barrett hadn’t left the group.
roger would have made sure he's in command . Then tear the floyd apart .Somewhere in
1971 . his writng , their jamming. Roger would have been the same. Syd was sick
and damaged . Floyd left syd .
A mess
@@cboytv6735 How so?
@@zeukri-5464 Syd's mental state at the time
A better statement would be, I cannot imagine how Pink Floyd would have been had Barrett not become mentally ill - either through excess acid consumption, underlying bipolar or schizophrenia, or a combination - and had continued to evolve as a songwriter and guitarist beyond his already genius artistic level.
This was the really p.f. soul
Spacey rock at it’s finest!
I always have to make a conscious effort to listen to Interstellar Overdrive, it was not made to be listened to. But I love to watch the young Pink Floyd playing it so seriously.
Syd was very genius
i wish footage of piper exised
I always feel so sad looking at this footage. Syd looks so much like my oldest son, and is younger than my son is now in this footage. Just a kid. To think, one year later, he has lived a thousand years in his mind and blown out that mind, and most of his genius expended in that short time for us. Then to live much of the rest of his life, cut off from others and cut off from his former self.
Great Great Great!!!!!!
