Such tiny pouch cell are plentyful on Ali Express. No idea whether the quality is better. Ordered one for a small "DIY" FM radio kit I bought from Banggood a couple of years ago which has now swollen. Still not received it yet but time will tell how good quality they are.
Designed an enclosure for such a device on Fusion360, of course, the buttons, on/off switches and such, didn't quite fit... Who knew speakers actually took space?
Yeah exactly... I must admit to having thought about doing that as it wouldn’t take much time... but then I thought of clips and screws and redesign... and then there was tape... lovely tape... :-)
@@DubiousEngineering I like the "arty" production but I would suggest doing both a short intro and outro to videos like this with you and your Howard face presenting to the camera. It lends a very personal and personable touch. How are we to make it through the week without our dose of Howard face?
Peter... thanks for your suggestions... maybe a quick intro summary and a standard call to action at the end makes sense... I’m still dialing in the skills - please stay safe in these troubling times :-)
Seems a complete success to me and extra points for the use of duct tape. Don't expect the first item of any run to be perfect, that's why we prototype. You can spend a long time making a perfect prototype or you can spend a fraction of the overall time doing rapid iterations of build/test. It's all down to time and materials and their relative values. Suggested new technology: "Gaffer's tape", it's what duct tape wishes it was.
Awww thanks for your encouragement Peter... I can’t wait to show you my multi coil threaded 3d printed galena crystal radio receiver... I think you may be slightly impressed :-) ... give me a week or so...
@@DubiousEngineering thank you sir! It stops and produces noise like grounded. I did it twice already, same problem... I was thinking that it's the battery i used. Maybe the voltage is too high? It's 3.7v with 2000mah i think.
@@Man-in-da-shed You can think of Bluetooth as a WiFi connection between your computer (or smartphone) and peripherals. It's got special facets for delivering audio and operating at very low power but it's a short distance radio link to replace cables.
Bloody hell you lot... that’s like a sensible conversation... :-). Great to read! People helping other people... you must all be bored being cooped up at home :-)
Ugly is not a defect,Howard. As with anything we do, it takes practice to become proficient,i.e, "Practice makes Perfect":)
The 5 p ... proper preparation prevents piss pore performance... :-0. Thanks for your kind words David!... stay safe mate ;-)

Fingers crossed you receive it and all is well for many years!

hahah... sounds like you can relate to my problems! ... I have a lovely little treat for you soon... a crystal radio set... 3D printed
Why didn't you 3D print a spacer to fit in the gap between the two halfes? A spscer of a different colour plastic (maybe Black) would look quite nice.

@@DubiousEngineering Hahaha.. You can fix anything with a bit of Gaffa tape.
Actually it was a great bit of Dubious Engineering 😂😂😂😂
Awww thanks... what do you think of the format? ... the video is more “arty” and there’s a voiceover, and no Howard face to ruin it all...

doing good Jack... can’t wait to get out and have some festival fun :-0
You could have easily found a replacement battery on AliExpress for it to keep it small
thanks Random... I’ll check there next time ...
I did this in a more ugly way but it is working. The problem is, sometimes it malfunctions. I used 1pc 18650 battery which is 3.7v
I don't understand why it malfunctions, but great work!!
