  • A guide on how to replace a broken charging port on a portable bluetooth speaker.
    The microUSB connector will be replaced with a much more convenient type-C one.
    The board I used for its type-c connector is a TC4056 li-ion charging module: bit.ly/33cfpHO

    Did the same thing to my Xb31‘s, just perfect if you don’t have that much micro usb cables lying around anymore.

    How would you go about adding a line-out to this speaker? (Perhaps even using the line-in port/hole on the box).
    That way one could use this as a remote receiver for the wireless network....

    Do you know another way I can charge my speaker? The type c port is trashed. Can it charge through the usb out which normally charges other stuff? Or is there some way I can tap into wires?

    It was too painful to watch. Thank God it worked 😀

    Can you bypass the damaged usb charging port and charge the battery directly with a different charging device?

      ow my .. you could hopefully just wire in the + & - and it'll just never fast-charge again
      or even somehow add that resistor that tells type-c chargers to go ahead and send 5 volts ..
      most likely the main board will work without that chip or communicating with it, I'd be pretty sure of that
      but do let us know how this turns out, I'm rather curious

    how does this BT speaker compare to your wooden one from a few years ago?

    • @Darieee
      @Darieee  2 года назад

      the sony wins ..
      the drivers are "more better" and it has dynamic bass ..
      + an app where you can set the EQ

      @@Darieee i guess thats the difference between a commercial unit and a DIY project

      @Darieee  2 года назад

      yeah - with small diy projects you really do need psychoacoustic magic & a dynamic equalizer ..

    How do you get repair parts?
    Why don't you use jeweler pliers? Or forceps?

    • @Darieee
      @Darieee  3 дня назад

      aliexpress for parts - as for tooling, I'm always open for more
      but more often than not, I tend to try to mend the tools I know for everything, feels like more of a superpower to use a hammer for nails and cutting nails and painting fabric 🙂‍↔️

    I don't think it is worth it. Just buy one that doesn't have a USB adapter. Because they always tend to fail often. It's unavoidable.
