    Cradles!?
    If comparing such units, you must mention cradles.
    I have just started looking to buy a hand-held VHF, and this is one of my top criteria.
    Does it come with a cradle? Can the cradle be mounted to a flat or vertical surface? Can it be easily charged when dropped into a cradle? Like my electric tooth brush.

      To connect the M25 VHF to an VHF antenna with a bnc connector you will need an AD-98FSC adapter: www.force4.co.uk/item/Icom/AD-98FSC-BNC-Adaptor/AWY

    Hi there, great review, thanks. Is this unit suitable for kayak fisherman? would you go for this one or the cobra units? thanks!

      The Icom M25 is perfect for Kayak fishing as it is compact, lightweight and floats. The Cobra units are also suitable for kayak fishing.

    Hi, thanks for the videos, what is the difference between the Euro and the non-Euro version?

    • @Force4Chandleryltd
      @Force4Chandleryltd  3 года назад +2

      The difference between the Euro and non-Euro versions is the channel sets - the Euro has the International, USA and ATIS channels sets and the non EURO has the International, USA, Canadian and Weather channel sets. THE WX weather channels are not used in Europe.

    If I am on shore and I want to communicate with a visible ship am I able to this with one of these vhf radios

      VHF works on line of sight and then the power rating of the unit will determine distance as well as weather/atmospheric conditions. Most HH VHF units are 5 or 6 watts with a rough rule of thumb being 1 watt per mile of transmission.

    good day, can this radio enter an MMSI?

    • @Force4Chandleryltd
      @Force4Chandleryltd  3 года назад +3

      Thank you for your question. An MMSI number is required for a radio with a DSC function - Digital selective calling function. This function is a type of messaging/paging system which can be used to call other ships or make safety and emergency calls and the MMSI number is a unique identification number for this function. The Icom M25 does not have a DSC function so has no facility for entering a DSC number. Icom do make a Handheld VHF with DSC - the Icom IC-M93D.
