My 16 year old son has that guitar from the very beginning. It’s a nylon string electric acoustic. It’s beautiful and sounds great. Wasn’t expensive either for a signature guitar. Ibanez did well and it very hard to get your hands on these days.
have been debating on picking it up myself, and I am always skeptical of reviews on sites. Happy to hear its good! Hope your boy keeps enjoying it, and makes some cool stuff!
The trumpet playing at the end was by a guy in a band called "brass tracks". He also played in the first song on this album, "Genesis". It's nice to see him in the last song on the album, "ego death".
I always thought it would be cool if his part at the end of Ego Death looped into the start of Genesis, and full circled the album
@@whirlwindsky IT really would be. I've always enjoyed transitions between songs.
Your observation about the picking techniques was sharp, they're actually hybrid picking, switching back and forth between using their picks and their fingers on the fly!
If you re-watch the video, Tim sat in the chair on the first floor, Scott sat in the chair on the second floor and Steve Vai sat on the chair on the roof. Ego Death, great name for a song. They’re all putting their egos aside to make great music. Fun reaction
They started as a progressive metal band over 10 years ago and kept evolving their level of musicianship and mastery until they became what you see now
Ron Burgandy on youtube puts vocals on their songs and its lit
great reaction, cheers from bonny scotland ~
New here, love you guys already ❤
The Bass tones from the Guitars are not only the slap/pop funk bass technique, but they are also using 8 string guitars which travel into the Bass Guitar frequency range on the lower 2 strings.
7 string guitars on this song
@@russellward4624 While I'm not certain about album recording, Tim's using an 8 string in his play through video: ruclips.net/video/Ddraz7S4E6c/видео.html
Yea it's a bass slap technique that's been adapted form guitar. It's called thumping.
You should check out Animals As Leaders, I'd suggest Tooth and Claw and Physical Education. They're another band like Polyphia that are setting the standards for instrumental music.
A vocalist will ruin it. The piece doesn't leave space for any vocalist. The music is telling the story, taking you on the journey there is no need for words. People act like this is a new thing when its just classical in a different form, played with a modern style. I see people say in their reactions that they cna't distinguish the parts of the music like you can a song, but I think that's their issue and not the musics issue. This music has clear sections. Ironically the same people talk about the transitions. But lets just look at this track for instance and list it out in layman terms.
Verse 1: Tim Henson
Chorus: intro by scott.
Verse 2: Scott
Chorus: Intro on the roof.
Bridge: Steve Vai
Final Chorus: All together.
See, its just like a normal song without a vocalist.
