Hey Sian, $1500 seems very expensive for car servicing! We service my car once a year or every 10,000km as per the log book and on a expensive log book service it is $600. The standard yearly service is usually $350.
I think it was $950 last year and think but more this year. But wanted to add a bit more for the oil and bits they use. I can get done a bit cheaper (not a lot though) but I get done through Merc themselves which why pay a premium

My oldest is 13.5 and still needs me not like they use to but still ❤
That’s good. Son will need me for ages I think just worried daughter mrs independent do I just do my best to always be there as I know she always needs me even when she thinks she doesn’t she know she does ;)
I'm at the stage where I'm trying to let her navigate some choices so she can be this powerful women and have an impact but it's hard. Just want to wrapp all my babies up ( I have 3, as I said 13.5, 9 and almost 7) it's so hard but just doing my best and I'm so thankful for the school she is at. Secondary school has been AMAZING

Hey Sian, does the extra repayment for mortgage make better since sitting in an offset just incase you need to access it for an emergency. I’m in a similar situation where I want to reduce interest over the life of the loan but am using offset to do this rather than paying it back into the loan itself. Actually all my sinking funds sit in the offset to minimise the daily interest rate calculated. We have saved $3000 this FY thus far in interest with this method
We actually do both. We have all our money and savings in an offset account and then pay additional on main into the mortgage itself. We could keep all in offset but it’s more psychological for me to do the extra into the offset itself. Worst case for emergencies we also have redraw facility
