I'm only half way through. At the point where Dr. Mate talked about turning off media and spending time alone. Which is what I'm going to do with the rest of the day. The happiest days of my life was when I lived in a ranch community in Mexico with no TV and only cassettes then CD's of music. The only TV I saw was at a Taco stand. Living close to nature and interacting with others who weren't touched by cable then media and an obsession for a plethora of products no one needs. Life was so peaceful!
I was sexually abused as a very young child and my mother starved me of love and affection, I was always made to feel like there was something wrong with me, I still feel this way at the age of 53,I have type 2 diabetes and fibromyalgia, I have had a very poor relationship with food as I used it to comfort myself, I'm now on a high protein, high fat low carb diet and I'm finally starting to feel a little better so I will carry on eating this way.thank you 🙏❤
Susan Alwill. God bless you. At least ur aware of ur abuse and are acknowledging it and listening to Dr Mate’. Read his books also. Dr Mark is such an aware person and I congratulate him for being aware regarding childhood trauma and how this takes a huge toll on all of us unless we acknowledge it and aware enough that we need recovery work.
Your story is identical to mine. They now say my fibromyalgia is psoriasis arthritis. It was initially started with mold but also trauma. That diet is good but if you are eating high fat meats that can lead to further problems. Key is sugar intake!
Sorry, had to add another comment. Excellent talk. Really excellent. I was diagnosed at 19 with panic disorder and major depression which lasted 5 years. I'm now 63 and have been on medication most of my life. I can tell you in all that time not one psychiatrist or therapist ever asked me what happened to you. Not one. And there was plenty.
Houndmother same experience for me. I volunteered the fact of my childhood trauma right away with therapists and psychiatrists. Still though I stopped seeing them. I even experienced some emotional abuse from therapists. Ty for sharing here.
@@luchiayoung The psych 'meds'(neuro-toxins) in these drugs cripple and kill people. Especially benzodiazepenes, anti- psychotics, and anti- depressants! It is indescribable HELL. Treating childhood trauma as a mental illness. Psychiatry, from personal experience is an INDUSTRTRY of DEATH!. If ACE's were eliminated, there would be no Psychiatry. No psychiatrist EVER asked me what happened to me in childhood. It was HELL. Multi generational domestic violence, including incest, rape of family members, yelling, hitting,. Just sick, sick sick!. I thought everyone's families were like mine. It was all I knew. My 'normal'. Never had a 'healthy' relationship with anyone. Then to be further victimized by the healthcare industry with their 'diagnoses', of mental 'disorders'. This is CRIMINAL, what psychiatrists are doing. They will not acknowledge it, but blame it on their patients 'mental disorder'. The stigma of labels is humiliating. Sorry, I need to vent. I never was a 'fan' of Jordan Peterson, but I am thankful that his mental disintegration from benzodiazepines has brought national attention to what these drugs do to people. The man is losing his mind! He is sick and needs to stop his practice. I have 0 respect for him. He never should have been a clinical psychologist. He was NOT a 'good enough' father.imo. He used corporal punishment on his toddler son!. A hypocrite. He told people to leave abusive relationship, and he was an abuser! Out of his own mean, angry mouth. I think the healthcare system has a lot of sicko abusers 'treating' clients and patients, some who are more 'sicker' than the people they 'help'. Some therapists do even further harm. Just my humbling opinion. I have been humbled and crippled for life! THIS NEEDS TO STOP!. I doubt it will. Why? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
wait....but YOU HAD THE BEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM....IN the WORLD!! (sorry for accenting this in your comment!) This line really got to me...at the beg. of the video!
The message I getting here is: we are all hurt in different ways throughout our lives, many of us are born with the hurts of our ancestors, making us extra sensitive. It is part of being human. If we can express our emotions every time we’re hurt then there is no wound left behind. If we can’t in the moment, if there is no compassionate witness to our pain, no one who says sorry, then we swallow the pain and the wound goes deeper. Every new hurt is added to it. With the advance of science we have left behind our natural ability to heal ourselves from all our internal hurts, we have lost the connection with our true selves, where our natural intuition should flow from. Instead we have been persuaded to trust a system outside ourselves, which has done a lot for mankind and saved millions of lives, but is now hopelessly broken because they abandoned natural healing. It’s overloaded, but it doesn’t need to be if we take care of our own hurts.
Thank you for an excellent insightful comment. "If we cant in the moment express the hurt, if there is no compassionate witness to our pain, no one who says sorry - then we swallow the pain and the wound goes deeper" So it is important to be aware of this and when such hurt occurs, it is important to have developed tools that have soothed us in previous hurts. And then to keep using these tools to soothe whatever the present hurt is.
@@thebusybee7080 excellent follow-through …. develop tools so that we can process our own hurts, as and when they occur. Who better to do the job! No need for storing up pain, even when there’s no one around. I actually did this the other day, after an incident with a family member, I was upset and called a friend, she wasn’t there, I called round to another and she wasn’t there, so I went for a walk, listened to some music, and processed the whole thing myself. I think I shed a few tears as I walked, but I know I felt fine afterwards and I just know I haven’t stored up anything that’s likely to come back and haunt me. So a long walk, a meditation or some breathwork could be useful tools. I’m sure there are many more, it’s a matter of finding something that works for you. Thanks for sharing 😃
We should not waste time blaming others. We should be aware of others planning to help their devious thinking. It is we who are responsible to work hard, understand what is going on,do not blame doctors please as we were not taught prevention of diseases, nutrition, healthy life style.Simply the subjects were overwhelming to study biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, pathology, physiology ,pharmacology,Latin, and all branches of medicine .When we qualify after 6 years we know nothing.Fisrt we learn from face to face with patients, continuous education, our patients feedback was our teaching. Our modern Westren medicine is good for emergencies and when disease developed.Another branch of medicine should be to teach what healthy life style is ,supported by the governments, political policies, teaching even primary school children to know nature, sunlight, clean water, healthy food, sleep, excercises and stop putting machines which sell sugars in hospital.in Germany a patient surgeon had cardiac surgery his hospital food was two slices of white bread, butter, and all unhealthy food.

I love seeing my two well-being mentors share this powerful conversation with us. Impressed by Mark’s vulnerability in this interview- that made the interview with Gabor even more compelling than usual.
I think that there's something about Gabor Mate that makes you open up. If I sat with him for an hour or two talking, I'd sing like a canary. A vulnerable canary.
We are all mentally sick including psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors and nurses. We all have chronic addiction and attachment to our affairs. We believe and make ourselves overly important, when, in fact, our sudden death tonight doesn't make any difference to the society. Life goes in finely without us. Some know this truth and live easily. Some don't know it and suffer. Some reject the truth and live with the label of mental illness.
I was fortunate to get to spend 6 months alone on a mountain top on the North Shore of Kaua’i with a view of Napali~ one of the wettest places on Earth. It was amazing. and so peaceful. Just what the Dr. ordered! ( meaning my own inner Dr.) Never doubt your own ability to be open to your own healing. We are deeply, innately connected to our best selves, as soon as we believe that is possible. Living on the North Shore was better than any other therapy I’ve tried at getting my brain and heart in balance. Now almost 63 I am beginning to realize the power of peacefulness in healing one’s self, though it has been a lifelong process of baby steps. To commit to one’s own self healing is a process that changes everything. Looking forward to many health centered years ahead. 💜
“My kids were sometimes scared of me…” being able to integrate his own story and use it to help author his next life chapters speaks to a level of self-acceptance and maturity that is beginning to grow in our world. And THAT is something to be grateful for ❤
By making your mental health and personal growth a priority, you will heal much faster. I understand that this can be hard to do, especially if you have little ones to look after. However, if you do have little ones to look after, it’s even more crucial that you take care of yourself first. This is so you are fully able to take care of others. 💙RUclipsr That Helps People Overcome Toxic Relationships
Totally agree - good mental health must always begin with self-love, self-care and self-compassion, it then flows naturally to those around you, effortlessly.
That last part when he talks about how he started interpreting his mother giving him to a stranger in order to save him as an act of love brought me to tears. Fantastic interview!
It takes a parent with a regulated nervous system to teach an infant how to regulate their nervous system. Otherwise, it is flight, fight or fawn for us. Unless of course, you get to find a way to regulate yourself. Not easy in a culture like ours.
Yes! I learned to regulate nervous system at 61years old with 2 sessions of TM- transcendental meditation --2x’s a day--- thank goodness I didn’t get married and have progeny🙏🏽🤗🪺 I would have repeated my childhood…. Ugh
Excellent exchange between two intelligent men who struggled in their own lives to unravel the web of emotions that held them stuck in their development. Thank you for the insights given. I will watch this vlog more than once for sure.
I am 66. I’ve just got out of hospital following a nasty flare of ulcerative colitis which I have had for 36 years. I was the last person to realise I was so sick. I’ve been listening to Gabor’s talks about childhood attachment trauma, adaptations (the 4 personality traits all of which I have) and chronic illness. Now I know why I was the last person to realise I was so sick. I’ve been disconnected from my body most of my life. I’m so grateful for Gabor’s kind and compassionate descriptions of how I got to here. I truly believe he has described for me a road map out of chronic illness. I’m starting Trauma Sensitive Yoga this coming week to learn how to listen to my body, and maybe get some ideas about what healthy anger looks like. Thank you again Dr Gabor Maté 🙏🏼💕
Diana, well done for taking that step and beginning the process of understanding and communicating with your body. I am 66 and I started yoga 7 years ago for physical and emotional help. I continue to practice everyday; it has been beneficial on many levels. I also recommend finding someone who practices the EMDR trauma healing method. There is most likely a root cause for your colitis that stems from trauma from many, many, years ago. I found this modality to be very helpful in dealing with trauma from early childhood. Lending energy to your healing process.
@@atticuskilby515 Thank you. Actually, I am an EMDR therapist- and I have a training coming up in February which includes personal work. And yes, I know I need to focus on this.. I know where in my childhood I disconnected from my body- I hadn’t put it together with the colitis before- then I heard Gabor Maté talking about chronic illness and now “I’m on it” as they say. Thanks for your support and helpful advice 😊
I don't know if you'll read this, but in case you do, you gave some hope to a 23 year old in the same situation. I've been wondering why pain has always been the least noticeable symptom for me, despite a horrible flare where my disease progressed to pancolotis, until I realized my body stored it. Breaking out of constant dissociation, although it resurfaces, has made it easier to listen to my body. With all of that said, I hope you're feeling better and remain in remission. Healing is hard in itself, perhaps more so when your own body can attack you, but we're not alone.
@@fatjesusonbike1276 Thank you for getting in touch. Gabor has a few books/audiobooks- his latest “the Myth of Normal” was about the childhood need for connection but longer term health risks of tuning into the needs of others and not wanting to disappoint others at the expense of your own needs and inability to express anger.. but his book “when the body says ‘no’ “ was also hard to read because it resonated. His “no” exercise was soo helpful.. he discusses a lot of it in interviews on RUclips- it was much easier for me to take it in small youtube sized doses than read the book- I’m going pretty well- by 4 months post colectomy I was travelling to Greece solo and making up my own mind how I wanted to spend my days- it was a fantastic experience to feel like the architect of my own days.. haha.. It’s a journey for me but I think I’m better at saying no, more comfortable with disappointing other people and I go dancing regularly- and-not when I’m tired. I’m better at asking for help when I need it. It’s a journey, but looking after myself AND others was a big shift. Thank you again for saying my journey was helpful to you. I must have written that post a few days after getting out of hospital because I went to my EMDR intensive about a week after discharge.. I’m going OK. Good luck with yours, it’s a big adjustment x
Yep, every aspect of my ill health can be directly related to my childhood one way, or another...last (girl) child in a poor family that came from poor people, both smoked like trains, ate fried white everything, never had fresh veggies, then...my brothers committed suicide when I was 4 and everything went downhill from there. I am 66 and have tried everything to heal but am hoping I can find someone to help me finally solve this with psychedelic therapy, which is hard to find near me.
I wish you back to good health..don’t stress yourself with worrying about not being able to find someone to help you. Just focus on staying positive and soon you’ll see how your helper will come to you
You have to look online, Iam sure you have already🙂, maybe look into “shrooms” there a places online that will walk you through micro dosing them, it’s definitely not cheap. All the best to you!

This has certainly proven true in my life. I grew up in a very poor alcoholic abusive home. I have many health issues. And while there have been many factors that went into them. I’m sure my childhood experience affected me greatly. And as a former teacher for thirty years. I have seen this in so many families.
These are my inspirational individuals. I admire these two for their authenticity and wisdom. Thank you for creating such a badass video. I’ve learned more from Dr. Mate and Dr. Hyman than what I learned in grad school.
Childhood abuse produces Cytokines which causes cancer. Ty DR MATE’. Ty Mark . This conversation has been incredibly helpful especially for us who experienced childhood trauma.
Thank you soooo much for accelerating the healing process of countless people out there. You are true masters and healers in this modern time of endless distraction.
This explains why I rarely get sick. I’m not a stressful worry type person. I have done the work. Expert at detaching with love of course. Still have some bad habits but rarely sick
Dr.Gabor, thx to you tube I got to know you. My irregular heart beats are stopped hearing you. Why we need to watch news ? You are the one to listen. Thank you ,God bless you! I am continuing to follow your videos, please, do not stop to talk, you are my news.
Yes, I will tell my overworked educator spouse what she already knows, that her worst students are facing trauma and chaos at home. How do you get people who do not value education to embrace education should be the question, but it's never mentioned as the answers are daunting and intractable.
There is not a single day when I ask myself, why am I living? Every morning I get up and tell myself, darn I didn’t die in my sleep. I have accumulated over 50 yrs of stress and trauma and it just does not get better but worse. When is the last straw going to be added? I can go on and on… Dr. Gabor Mate is my new found hero and rockstar.
I’m so sorry that you feel like this. You are loved by he who you were made in his image. Please believe that you can change how you feel by changing how you think. God bless
These conversations are helping tremendously at this time in my life when I've chosen, finally, to seek therapy for the final frontier of self. Having said that, I wouldn't have this privilege without the help of a 12 step program (which is free to all) and the people involved. My first need was to stop drowning; stop dying, and that happened by creating community for myself. Then I was afforded time to look at how I got to the brink of death. Never try to teach a drowning person how to swim, just get them out of the water, and give them a safe place to recover. There's no way to do this deeper work if I'm dead. Thank you for everything you both do in the world to help people recover their lives from disease.
Keep up the important work you are doing behind the scenes. We need more people like you both in this world what a better world it would be. Greetings from England
to re-imagine society is to become actively creative ... again ... we have the resources to start the social healing pattern right now ... organizing the availability of being creative has been an exclusion to the point we don't even question that we aren't exercising the enormous value about who we are ... the arts ... each community has an artist's community ... the other education !!!!! My example is this ... for 9 years I invited young people into my studio for after-school studio time ... this became most relevant and obvious other educational environment that I saw kids absolutely need ... I had this as a kid ... I had no more than 3 or four kids in an afternoon from 3 to 5:30 an artist can mentor these young people and empower them ... include them ... show them ... help them ... and hang out with them .... it was known as The Kid's Art Dept. Studio ... some of my best friends have been 8 years old ... I have become life long friends with some of these young people and we are family in how we grew up together to know and care about each other in a uniquely magical way... seriously, the best experiences about real relationships I have ever felt ... I saw their discomforts and fears melt away each time they came ... profound transformations ... I shared what I knew when we were working ... couple of idea choices and let them think on it ... draw it down ... try it ... just doing stuff ... we wrote books, paper mache', public art by re-painting the town's lamp post banners !!!! ... made flags and walked in parades, made and sold our wide variety of their artworks in our own store shop, stop motion animation, becoming the art department for school plays, ... and then some ... when we begin to spend time with our kids again we are passing on what we have learned ... meanwhile we also benefit from their simple perspectives which we have long forgotten ... we need our artists brought back into the fold of community to help us each remember the reliance of the arts as in the value we give to the sciences ... they are partners ... not competitors ... I found to re-balance the equation to include creative problem solving, making things, self surprise, self confidence, self recognition in the environment that encourages our potential hidden skills and interests we are running on all pistons of who we aspire to ... mentoring is a standard historical part of community ... to teach and pass on to our kids ... they need us now more than ever to be prepared in the massive process to re-invent the world issues they are inheriting ... kind of a no brain-er to get them fully inspired and feel confident ... thank you so very much for sharing this massive topic ... please try to put this interview in the hands of all available schools, medical facilities, in every home library ... this could be the most important sit down session in our human history ... how much would begin to clear if our kids were paid better attention to and become well built !!!!
Thank you so much for this Mark! I would really love to be invited to your show! I have so much to share that aligns so succinctly with what Dr Gabor speaks about. I'm finding it incredibly hard to get my message through to my community and church! They don't believe that we need to Roar! To be healed. I came out with my story of being sexually abused by my father at a tender age of twelve. And I wrote my memoir " Hush to Roar, and even though I got ostracised by my family and resulted in my divorce of over 24years, I feel so healed and free and unexplained peace! I just want to help others. I give talks in schools abroad and want to share that healing involves Tears, Time and Talking! I had so many physical ailments and I'm getting so much better now. Thank you!
Love Dr.Gabor Mate. This Podcast with Dr. Hyman so resonated with my soul. Physiotherapy’s throughout my entire life, ( 70+years) have never helped me as my childhood experiences was so overwhelming I’m told is the stuff movies are made of. Passing me from colleague to colleague to only start all over again was painfully exhausting and soul depleting. I gave up on conventional Therapy. I have read hundreds of books over the years etc. which only left me more confused, barely functioning threw society. I have to tell you( Dr. Mate you have saved my life numerous times) over the last few years since I came across you, your humanity, knowledge and your life’s ideology. You have given me hope and has helped me navigate through my life’s challenges and experiences. I finally feel I’m on the right road to healthy healing. Your online videos have helped me more than you’ll ever know. THANK YOU.
Agree, they have put SO much thought into human problems, and have suffered themselves... that's how they are so "in tune" with it all. Have you seen Dr. Hyman's video talk where he considers the problems that have come from our modern way of life ? Particularly " Big Pharma" ( profit based), climate change, and intensive farming, water....... I was surprised to hear that global warming could be reversed if Regenerative Farming were the norm....🙂 ( Sorry , can't recall the actual title of the video ).... Dr. Hyman and Dr. Mate have given the best of themselves to help people, and I hope they feel really good for all they have done : 🦉 Very productive, useful, well-lived lives. despite their earlier difficulties.🦉🙂. Gabor is recently on a rockstar level. Love it. I vaguely remember one of his comments that didn’t resonate as entirely true but otherwise bang on every time. What more could we strive for in life? Love him so much.
Thank you for this interview. Medical and Mental Health professionals need to hear this information till they get it - What is disease? What is a 'wound?' Are we living based on our soul purpose? So many gems in here to be sure. Our societies in the Western world do not respect the socialized manner in which human beings need to interact - not at all. I have shared it with clients who need this message and with professionals who need the same.
Thank you Mark and Gabor - what a refreshingly intelligent discussion about such an important topic. I’m currently appealing dismissal due to medical incapacity following trauma in the workplace and have been pushing my employer to become trauma-informed - without success. All organisations should also be trauma informed with a compassionate and nurturing connection approach - which is the opposite to my experience. Sadly this will take time but we have to start somewhere.
@@judithdarida6998 - many thanks. I won the appeal and now the union solicitors are pursuing a disability discrimination case. Sad that it has come to this - as they are still hiding behind policies and procedures and lacking insight into such a prevalent condition.

TY MARK for having Dr Mate’ on. He is so brilliant. I have been so validated through him regarding my childhood trauma and the attachment problems I have and more.
My mother has 3 grandchildren who are addicts from childhood abuse, she was abused . She verbally and emotionally abuses them today, I do believe they will die from her. I don't speak to her, had too . She thinks abuse is the way to operate, I'm 64 with auto immune disorder, but recently found joy in life, joyfully keeping unkind people away from me confidently and assertively, I deserve the rest of my life.
So agree it is just common sense. Had a cousin with bi polar & he had a very traumatic childhood, no wonder he ended up with bipolar . Ever major disease comes from a trauma.

Loneliness (20:30) is not the same as solitude, which some of us actually enjoy. If we are to take anything from Sartre is that "Hell is other people." It's like they are intertwined and as such, mental disease spreads because madness is contagious. When you are healthier, you stand out among the unhealthy and mixing the sound with the sick is a really bad idea.

Even now, if we find what the reason is for our brokenness it seems it would take another life time to dig and learn and rewire and emerge a less broken person. It seems most ppl right now don’t even start the dig till maybe in their 40 or later. The great thing about this, is that this new way of looking at a patient may now be able to help young and potentially help sooner in these ppl youth and not till they’re old or a disease takes them first. I just saw another or Dr Gabor’s videos. And my gears started turning fast and figured what the issues are for a couple of ppl just in my immediate family. That you both!
Although this guys are making a lot of money on ours back, at least Gabor have a lot of logic and for that I am still listening to him and buying his books.
It seems that a lot of degeneration disease, cancers and others are more related to chemicals that changed dramatically from the 50s to today. And probably as a lot of things the meeting between the chemicals exposition and stress and emotional suppression is the key

Insurance won't pay for that!!! Feed people pharmaeuticals, insurance pays.
Houndmother same experience for me. I volunteered the fact of my childhood trauma right away with therapists and psychiatrists. Still though I stopped seeing them. I even experienced some emotional abuse from therapists. Ty for sharing here.

They will not acknowledge it, but blame it on their patients 'mental disorder'. The stigma of labels is humiliating. Sorry, I need to vent. I never was a 'fan' of Jordan
Peterson, but I am thankful that his mental disintegration from benzodiazepines has brought national attention to what these drugs do to people. The man is losing his mind! He is sick and needs to stop
his practice. I have 0
respect for him. He never should have been a clinical psychologist. He was NOT a 'good enough' father.imo. He used corporal punishment on his toddler son!. A hypocrite. He told people to leave abusive relationship, and he was an abuser! Out of his own mean, angry mouth. I think the healthcare system has a lot of sicko abusers 'treating'
clients and patients, some who are more 'sicker' than the people they 'help'.
Bingo
Ok
Thank you for an excellent insightful comment. "If we cant in the moment express the hurt, if there is no compassionate witness to our pain, no one who says sorry - then we swallow the pain and the wound goes deeper"
So it is important to be aware of this and when such hurt occurs, it is important to have developed tools that have soothed us in previous hurts.

Amen! The stinking bastards, it’s all about money to them!

For me, watching these men and other good wellness/mental health professionals has helped me far more than going to Therapy in the last 20 years.
Love your comment on power of peacefulness in healing one’s self
“My kids were sometimes scared of me…” being able to integrate his own story and use it to help author his next life chapters speaks to a level of self-acceptance and maturity that is beginning to grow in our world. And THAT is something to be grateful for ❤
By making your mental health and personal growth a priority, you will heal much faster. I understand that this can be hard to do, especially if you have little ones to look after. However, if you do have little ones to look after, it’s even more crucial that you take care of yourself first. This is so you are fully able to take care of others.

It takes a parent with a regulated nervous system to teach an infant how to regulate their nervous system. Otherwise, it is flight, fight or fawn for us. Unless of course, you get to find a way to regulate yourself. Not easy in a culture like ours.

How do you follow his work?
Yes, I will tell my overworked educator spouse what she already knows, that her worst students are facing trauma and chaos at home. How do you get people who do not value education to embrace education should be the question, but it's never mentioned as the answers are daunting and intractable.
There is not a single day when I ask myself, why am I living? Every morning I get up and tell myself, darn I didn’t die in my sleep. I have accumulated over 50 yrs of stress and trauma and it just does not get better but worse. When is the last straw going to be added? I can go on and on…

Thank you for everything you both do in the world to help people recover their lives from disease.

to re-imagine society is to become actively creative ... again ...
we have the resources to start the social healing pattern right now ... organizing the availability of being creative has been an exclusion to the point we don't even question that we aren't exercising the enormous value about who we are ...
the arts ... each community has an artist's community ... the other education !!!!!

I love seeing Gabor Mate discussing these issues with Doctors and Practitioners whose works I've been following for a while.
Finally I’ve found people that have the same thought process and understanding🎉 now we just need to spread the word and educate more people and open their eyes and perspective on things.. many will Never see it but those are the ones that will suffer, those are their worst own enemy. I feel sorry for the people who aren’t open to understanding. I know this video has helped many . Thank you for posting! ❤
Thank you so much sir. Lots of unconditional love, light, respect and gratitude. Feeling peace...joy...bliss...oneness with all of life and Expandedness
Such an important and excellent interview. Many thanks to both Mate and Hyman. Will be sharing far and wide
Welcome

TY MARK for having dr Mate’ on and not interrupting him. .
Result of disfunction and our role to fix it!
How about we start with supporting children and their parents so that children can have a steady caretaker for a minimum of two years? Then go on to educating doctors and lawyers and politicians and teachers and social workers about trauma, and taking the trauma inducing practices OUT of educating all of them?
RFKjr, Gabor Mate, Vandana Shiva, Mike Tyson, Steven Greer, Omali Yeshitela and Dave Chappelle…..thank you for looking out for humanity and all life forms, we need Love, and to slow down. “EVERYBODY LOVE EVERYBODY!” ~ Semi Pro
Thank you Doctor Gabor, the world needs you !!
I love these 2 ppl they rock 🔥🔥💜💜💜💪
Hello Mary, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus?
Thank you so much for these wonderful discussions- recently received and have started reading The Myth of Normal
My two most looked up to role models in one video.
Thank you both 😊
What a wonderful honest conversation between 2 amazing genuine gentleman. I am so happy I got to listen!
❤️
TY MARK for having Dr Mate’ on. He is so brilliant. I have been so validated through him regarding my childhood trauma and the attachment problems I have and more.
My mother has 3 grandchildren who are addicts from childhood abuse, she was abused . She verbally and emotionally abuses them today, I do believe they will die from her. I don't speak to her, had too . She thinks abuse is the way to operate, I'm 64 with auto immune disorder, but recently found joy in life, joyfully keeping unkind people away from me confidently and assertively, I deserve the rest of my life.
Infusing childhood trauma awareness into medical professionals. So needed but I doubt it will happen.
Brilliant conversation! Adore, Dr. Mate!
So agree it is just common sense. Had a cousin with bi polar & he had a very traumatic childhood, no wonder he ended up with bipolar . Ever major disease comes from a trauma.
Gracias Mark. He visto el video en 4 partes debido a la infinitud de contenido. Gracias a vuestras madres, padres, entornos, vivencias, transformación, etc...y la generosa actitud de comunicar para bien de otros.
Really good talk hit home to many points i can relate to in my life never really thought about it regarding my childhood powerful talk well worth the long watch i usually get bored if to long. But not in this case. Ill probably watch again so much to take in
Loneliness (20:30) is not the same as solitude, which some of us actually enjoy. If we are to take anything from Sartre is that "Hell is other people." It's like they are intertwined and as such, mental disease spreads because madness is contagious. When you are healthier, you stand out among the unhealthy and mixing the sound with the sick is a really bad idea.
Oh, I didn't realize this was Dr. Hymen. Thank you for doing this. We had a similar upbringing so I know what you're talking about.
No truer words spoken, it's never been harder to not have to expose yourself to things situations and people that make.you sick!!
Great interview! Thank you to both of you.
Im57 now and struggled with h depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember.
My father sexually molested me since I was a baby and my mother was selfish and cruel.
I also suffer from fibromyalgia and RA.
And IBS
You are a hero for many reasons. I’m sure you are very kind person
Very good topic, i fully endorse it
Although this guys are making a lot of money on ours back, at least Gabor have a lot of logic and for that I am still listening to him and buying his books.
GREAT conversation. Thank you!
Love melts trauma.
A most wonderful discussion - thank you both.
I go on vacations without my spouse and when I'm away I feel awesome !
good parenting ought to be supported by the society.
Makes me so happy to hear this. Because my entire life purpose is to cause massive social change, in the epidemic of loneliness and inauthenticity.
Fascinating! Who is moving behind the screen it is most distracting!😳🤔😊
Hello Beverly, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus?
I like the question mark asks how do we find out what healing do we need ? Where to start. Love it..!!
It seems that a lot of degeneration disease, cancers and others are more related to chemicals that changed dramatically from the 50s to today. And probably as a lot of things the meeting between the chemicals exposition and stress and emotional suppression is the key
