- This is my tribute to Helsinki, Finland which has become my home over the past 12 years. I moved to Finland because I couldn't stay away from this paradise after only one visit.
Special thanks to Jani Rantanen for letting me use his music in the film and to Cocomms Oy for letting me fly their drone.

Thanks for putting this together. I enjoyed very much.
this was absolutely gorgeous. beautiful music, too. thank you for showing this country in the light it deserves to be seen in.
Thanks so much! I just want people to see Finland the way I see it.
Such an indescribable silence that merges with calm and peace.
🙏🏼
That last shot at the end there took my breath away. Everything about Finland is so beautiful. 💜

Very cool, cooler than cool, ice cold. Visually stunning.
Thanks... Just decided to put together a montage of footage collected over the past 2 years of vlogging. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Top Class video. Thanks Luke for promoting Finland internationally.

Cool video bro! Good work!
Thanks so much!
Really good video! A lot of places people normally don't take any shots, I liked this one!
+disse Thanks do much! It was fun making this one.
Hey Luke, I love the mood in this video. It shows your passion for the country and the city. I am here for the Slush in the next days and I am filming a vlog. I would love to use some of your footage if that is okay. I would credit you within and underneath the video.
Hi! Thanks! ...and Sure!
I moved 1.5 weeks ago to otaniemi and I'm also really in love with Finland. The only thing that frustrates me little bit that the language is so freaking hard.
Hopefully I can speak at least a little bit after my 2 years of university 😊
Who knows maybe I even find a job over here.
Nice! I live just nearby. A five minute bike ride. The language is hard but it is very logical. It will start to make sense soon enough.
@@LukeBlandoh cool! I'm actually following you now on Strava. Maybe we run across each other someday.
Yeah I already studies little bit. So far it made sense. I think I'm mainly missing tons of vocabulary. Where did you start for that? I think Duolingo is really good to learn vocab but I think they teach me unnecessary ones. I would prefer to learn some for the daily life.
I wish I had Duolingo when I moved here. It’s definitely the best. See you on the trail 👋🏼
@@LukeBland I think I'll stick with Duolingo and extend with some vocab list I'm building myself
❤️🇫🇮
I was referred to this from reddit on /r/finland ! Great video - many familiar sites I've come to love over my years as an expat here! The quality on the shots are phenomenal. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
+Thomas Giamanco Thanks so much! Where are you from? How long have you lived here?
Hey, I responded in a PM. 3 years, and I'm from NY! How about you?
+Thomas Giamanco 12 years. Virginia. Where about do you live?
+Thomas Giamanco Hey! Welcome to Espoo! Let's get a beer when you get here! Biking in this area is not bad but I agree... probably nothing compared to the archipelago. I've been meaning to do a road bike tour down there. But Spring is coming and let's do some riding soon!
Sure that sounds nice. Once I get all settled in we can figure out somewhere to grab a beer for sure! You probably know a couple really good spots! And yeah, once the warmth comes a bit, a ride sounds great.
Casey would be proud
Thanks, so much!
Thank you for showing us your Finland! One question what is that crazy looking flying saucer observatory called.
It's a restaurant called "Haikaranpesä" or "The Stork's Nest".
It's a watertower in Espoo
I LOVE FINLAND..BANGLADESH TO FINLAND COME AND WORK VISSHA
perfect video ! amazing shots , good work !!!
+Trekker Fox Thanks! I was particularly happy with this one.
Hello again. You know what? This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long while. I watched it several times and I've shown it to my friends and we all agree this is simply awesome. You managed to capture this unique vibe that Helsinki and Finland has and that is rare. Congrats! My latest production is about a really cool castle in Slovakia, you're welcome to check it out. I feel that I need to invest more in my equipment but so far I think this is my best work. Cheers!
Thanks so much! You know I actually watched your video before you mentioned it. I really liked it a lot. Well done! Really amazing pan shots! I wanna see more of that!
awesome footage but stunning color grading!
+Tom Brunberg Thanks... coloring is my weakness so that means a lot!
I was going to comment on the desaturated look. Finland is gray a lot of the time, but not *that* gray!
+koenigmoo Maybe it's a little desaturated :)
I think it works very well, specially with that song. Then again, im no expert
I've been binge watching your stuff... Really good! Especially the KL Base jump... Lunatic!
2:36 killed me from inside
Incredible video...been watching a lot of your other stuff now too. How did you find a job in Finland? I'm a Canadian obsessed with Helsinki but moving there seems impossible.
Thanks! Well that... is a very long story :) But I will say that if you can get a company to hire you and fill the immigration paper work, it's not that hard. The easiest way is to study here. It's free and there's student support for living. I have two friends from four friends from America who came that route. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask more if you need.
Hmm, it's weird cause I've been told since I work in the tech field that I'd easily find a job in Finland. A while ago I submitted like 20+ applications for random IT jobs and get even a single bite. If I made those applications here in Canada I'd probably get at least 10+ calls. Also, free tuition sadly ended this year. I looked into that also. Does your company need any IT staff? :p
+RobboElRobbo Sadly no.. we outsource. How it worked for me was I moved in with an old friend here while I looked for a job. I actually drove forklifts in a warehouse for 4 years and when no one still wanted to hire me, I started my own company which I ran successfully for 4 years until one of my clients hired me. I still work for them. So, I guess it depends on your life situation and how bad you want it. I wanted it real bad 😏
Ah, that sounds much more reasonable haha. My uber driver last time I was in Helsinki had like 8 years of medical school and was driving an uber so I guess that really goes to show how difficult it is to get a job in Finland...
Well... I'd say it depends on the industry. Medical industry might be pretty hard for foreigners. My industry is all about networking. It makes a big difference who you know.
