A little know fact is that the last Viking to invade England from Normandy, William the Conqueror, also had problems with his invasion. But like ISP, he was able to go back to the autosave until he won the Battle of Hastings on the sixth try.

@@xijinping4690 There is a story of one viking, holding off the entire anglo saxon army for ages, until some dudes in a barrel, floating down the river, shoved a spear up through the bridge into his asshole no joke.
He was descended from Vikings and the Duchy of Normandy was founded by Rollo the Viking but William wouldn't have considered himself a Viking. He would have likely considered himself Norman and later English. The former of which was a mixture of Frankish and Scandinavian cultures, but was a settled Christian state that had no formal ties to Vikings or Scandinavian kingdoms
If you pause at 15:04, you can see that ISP did all that for two cores on some barely populated states, 5% stability and war support, 1 level of infrastructure in one state, 3 building slots, and a naval dockyard.

Someone commented about this a while ago but a dlc around japan (maybe asia in general) and the US would be nice (instinctively said dlc cause paradox dont do good updates)
i like icelands focus tree more than the other ones for one reason you can make destroyers and cruisers from only convoys without needing manpower

fun fact, the other paths for Iceland can get 4 research slots, its only the fascist path that´s locked to 3.
another fun fact, the democratic/non-aligned path can get rid of and make the Icelandic economy a buff, the communist and fascist paths will have it be a negative forever.

An issue with an early collab as Iceland might be that one civillian factory you have at the start, given the civ requirements for a spy agency, let alone the actual collabs.

Anyone else think its weird that steel is a resource that can be discovered? You have to make steel... its kinda weird that its not a building actually. I know there is a building in rt56. But it just kind of exsists in vanilla.

Bittersteel took India for his Iceland run, which as you aren't playing India doesn't have the recruitable pop debuff, so you get oodles of manpower.

Quick tip, u could get a lot of manpower as any of the nordic countries if u just join the war against the allies or the chinese factuion and get a lot of non core manpower buffs. Just take a few provinces of India or China for example and ur set for the rest of the game.

Some ideas for places to attack;
Taking out Netherlands early and annexing the Dutch East Indies for manpower would be easy.
Joining the war in China with the Japanese. If you do your own naval invasion you should get that manpower pretty quick. Getting the collab and capitulating them early would be pretty important though.
Attack Ireland. Not too much manpower, but its in a prime spot to invade England and would still be something.
Hit Iran, okayish population to work with, oil, and right next door to India where there is a ton of Manpower. And you can go into Indochina too.
Siam, same advantages as Iran, except rubber instead of oil, and the added advantage of a border with Malaya.
Spain after the civil war. They'll be weak, wont join a faction, and will offer a rather large amount of manpower compared to some other options here. Plus they have the best navy on this list to take.
China has the most risk, but the most potential reward.
Taking the Dutch out and annexing the Dutch East Indies is probably the easiest, and second most rewarding. Maybe the most since the resources are better. But taking out the Dutch early has been done many times.
Siam is probably a little but better than Iran, but might be a tough target if you have to wait too long. And if they join the Japanese, that could be an issue.
Ireland might then be the most logical choice after the Dutch.
But personally I'd want to see the China strategy in a video😂 Siam would be the next choice.

We all know, that the paradox developers know how 45 day focuses work... despite this, they had choosen to not use it for the one new tree it would have really made sense.
By the time I have the bare minimum (becoming viking and converting transports into ships) most fo the world is already in full war or conquered...
