Hey man, I'm a big fan of your work, please keep it up. One area where I think you might be wrong is the origin of Euron's name. I'm pretty sure it is a reference to Euronymous. He is a listed demon from Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible, which refers to an older, obscure character from Greek mythology named Eurynomos. Pausanius writes in a description of a painting depicting the various denizens of Hades: "He is of a colour between blue and black, like that of meat flies; he is showing his teeth and is seated, and under him is spread a vulture’s skin." Pausanius states that Eurynomos' function is that he "eats off all the flesh of the corpses, leaving only their bones."
Side note that I don't think GRRM is referencing, but the name "Euronymous" was also the stage name for the guitarist from the Norwegian black metal band Mayhem (probably also drawing from LaVey's Satanic Bible, as he was a professed Satanist), who used his friend and lead singer's post-suicide corpse for an album cover and was later murdered by a colleague from the same toxic scene.
Because of the intense corpse association with this name, I am pretty sure that Euron is the corpse on the prow of the ship smiling that Dany sees in her House of the Undying vision.
Anyway, this is a point I've been trying to spread around for a while, if you think it seems valid, please spread the good word. Either way, I look forward to your future content!

Hey Ryan! That's a great find, and seems quite apt - blue black, rotten and corrupt, eating the dead like a crow... checks out, as they say! Thing is, it doesn't conflict with the Europa idea at all, in fact Martin excels and finding things like this he can draw together. The Europa connection is undeniable; George literally wrote the moon to have Euron's face, and the idea of Europa as an ice moon is important too. However, since George is thinking about moon calamities bringing on a long night and apocalyptic figures who are compared to moons and suns and bring about celestial cataclysm... it's likely he figured out a clever way to weave the idea of an ice moon and this dastardly Euronymous fellow together, and presto, we have Euron.
Definitely wish I had known before making the video, I would have included it. But I can talk about it next livestream, for sure! Hat tip coming sir, this is a really good find :)

Alt Shift X also did a great video on how Euron might be a sort of failed student of Bloodraven. When he talks to Victarion about having a dream as a boy that he could fly, it sounds eerily similar to what Bran experienced. Maybe Bloodraven contacted Euron the same way initially seeing the magical potential in him, but realized how dangerous and unhinged he was. Consequently, this might’ve been the origin for Euron’s obsession with magic and godhood. There’d be a neat sense of Shakespearean tragedy to that, in that in attempting to stop the Long Night, Bloodraven unintentionally sets it in motion.

There is a sense bloodraven has been trying this for a long time and Euron could be a failure that stirred something twisted in him.

In the board game for "Game of Thrones" there are an insane amount of parallels for how events turn out between book and show. Every time the Wildling deck is player (a threat which grows in strength as time progresses), house must bid power tokens in order to beat them back. In the event they don't, all houses suffer.
I am incredibly certain that the next book will have House Greyjoy creating an alliance with House Lannister. It is logistically a very intelligent move as it mutually benefits both parties the most in comparison to all other houses. And houses must forge alliances as a means of keeping their resources growing and/or residual.
I don't know anything about a Night Queen, but this alliance is something I can put my money on.

There was the idea, wasn't there, that the original Night's Queen is beneath the crypts of Winterfell, that she may be who the old Starks are guarding with their iron swords, that the guardian magic may have been disrupted by the first female Stark being entombed in the crypts (Lyanna), etc. So the vision of Euron's tall lady friend may be literally the original Night's Queen rather than any current character like Dany etc, or may be alive again through such a character just as Euron may be priming himself to be taken over by Azor Ahai. I'm sure you've probably covered this idea somewhere but thought I'd mention it.

    • @claire3614

Female Starks are always entombed on the crypts, as are the rest of the Starks, the only thing different about Lyanna was the sculpture. Those are traditionally only for kings/lords of winterfell, but Ned loved her too much and had to make a sculpture of her face to be able to see her face again.
If you remember, one of the early chapters of the Stark kids has Bran (maybe Jon? I can’t tell for sure now) remembering a prank pulled by Rob and Jon at the cripts, the children went to visit their future tombs (including the girls'), and Jon appeared covered in flour and made Rickon cry, Aria kicks him for it.
But anyway, every Stark meets his tomb on the crypts, male or female, the only difference with Lyanna was the sculpture!!!

In primordial time or the beginning were only two god's Rhllor and the Other.Rhllor was male and so later reflected three aspects of the 7 Father, Warrior and Smith, the Other is female reflecting 3 aspects of Mother ,Maid and Crone finally the Stranger unifies their eternal combat to the death as the personification of death. Both these god's hate each other and particularly the "sex' of the humans personifying that God.Azor Ahai is the reincarnation of Rhllor but in order to come to earth he only possesses the one who kill the most important woman in his life ,that is why the dark emperor did that as the first reincarnation of Azor Ahai. The female other not to be outdone chose one of the kings of the North to beguile and steal his soul so as to birth the abominations the undead white walkers.
Rhllor the God of fire, under whose purview are dragons and dragonglass is the only one the Other's creations is vulnerable to.
Notice the following clues Caster sacrifices his sons to be whitewalkers and there is never mention of female 'whytes'
Also would explain why the private parts of eunuchs like Varus are used in black magic rituals.
Now to the interesting part I feel in broad strokes GRRM did indeed give the Game of Thrones writers the ending he envisaged with Jon being Azor Ahai but the woman that he will kill to banish the Other back into the darkness will not be Daenarys but his own sister Arya! The clues are as follows , not only do I think Arya is on irredeemable path serving the god of death but a child of the Forrest in Storm of Swords was scared of her prophecying that Arya has either darkness about her and will be the bane of the world in the future.
Also notice Araya in all her killings despite mentioning Cersei(not that the other really cares about women) has never to my knowledge killed a woman even though she serves the many faces god ,all her victims are male.I believe when she learns shadowbinding she will be possessed by the dark goddess the other, even though now it is likely the other is guiding Euron to destroy the world. The image of a dark female shadow next to Euron in the 'Forsaken' chapter is this very being.

That means literally bringing fire and blood to Westeros. She’s trying to convince Dany that diplomacy/asking yields starvation, plague and betrayal. Jasper Furniss well if quaithe is working with Euron then she would be a nights queen figure, which doesn’t require a throne so much as it requires her to support the new “bloodstone emperor”. (Nights queen/shadow binder/shadow women). As for euron being the big bad, I feel that’s close but not the full truth. Euron seems to be the main tool of the other, hence his needing to make a son “worthy of him”. Similar to when Mel see’s Bran and BR in the flames, it’s “his” visage would be much worse. It’s heavily implied that their is something/someone who’s being served/fought against. The 3 eyed crow and BR don’t seem to be the same person. Doesn’t fit at all far as I’m concerned.

“Opening too many doors” and “leaving the door open” have fantastic imagery. Common phrases that typically imply opening yourself up to enlightenment or future prosperity. However, leaving it open too long can or even opening the wrong door can lead to negative unintended consequences. This enlightenment and the externalities it generates is essentially Eurons ladder to power at whatever cost to his own sanity. We saw with Dany that drogon essentially serves as a safety valve while she gains her own enlightenment at the hotu. In that same light, how will a dragon serve euron’s goal? Does he need a safety valve to limit the shades let loose as he opens doors, a source of power to control these shades, or is there some other purpose?

Just wanted to comment that you are definitely right by saying magic is magic in Planetos...I found this to be true thanks to the Dance of the Dragons. When Daemon Targaryen fights Aemond One Eye (god, both amazing characters) at the God's Eye, Aemond tells that his pregnant lady Alys Rivers can see him him a storm cloud, a mountain pool, and their cookfire, implying that she can use different mediums to achieve the same results. (Full disclosure: I'm a big fan of Preston Jacobs and I think telepathy and telekinesis are much of the real "magic" and telepaths should definitely be able to exercise control over different elements.)

If he successfully takes Oldtown and captures Sam as I think he might then the likelihood of this is quite high I think. If Layton Hightower and Malora fall under his power as well, it could be through them that Euron learns what the horn of Joramun really is.

Euron is one of my favorite villains. He is so cavalier about the horrific things he has done and plans to do. I read something that basically said no one alive thinks they are the villain. Our minds don’t let us. And I think euron embodies that.

That is so fucking stupid. Euron knows he is evil as shit; he literally admits it. They know right from wrong; they simply don't care. The notion that 'villains' think they are the good guys is such a childish notion, and the concept masquerades as 'deep conceptual story telling' when it is, in actuality, extremely childish.
A child doesn't know right from wrong; a child thinks they may be doing good when, in fact, they are doing wrong. A villain thinking they are good is just a child. What I don't get is why modern adults think a villain thinking they are good is somehow compelling storytelling

First off, as always, I thoroughly enjoyed your work here both in content and presentation but I have to say, on a tangent, that throughout both this video and part one, every time we got the art depicting Euron using the visage of Mads Mikkelsen I couldn't help think how great he would have been in portraying the character. Furthermore, the transition around 24:55 when you mention, "this Night's King snatches Euron's body idea," reminded me of his portrayal of Hannibal and how he at times appears as a demonic antler-headed figure in that show, which admittedly has nothing to do with the topic of the video but is kinda cool nonetheless.

I think you're right about the horn that Jon found at the Fist. I think it's an Other Binder just like Euron's Dragonbinder. That would make more sense to me than a horn that would literally crumble the wall, but we have seen plenty of horns as communication/binding tools. & maybe the Others have been capable of taking The Wall down all this time but have been waiting for a leader to sound the horn south of the barrier. Also the Fist has a similar magical barrier that even Ghost, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a parallel with sounding the horn outside the protected area

Idk if that make sense lol It wouldn't be as catastrophic as the first long night but the only way to do that is with another falling moon and idk how Martin can pull off a world with no moon ending lol (StormsEnd is a spaceship that Dany will illuminate with dragonfire to sacrifice herself as a new moon SHH DON'T GIVE THE SECRET ENDING AWAY!)

I def think the fact that there is such a distinction between crows and ravens as symbols is kind of a hint that the 3 eyed crow is pretending to be bloodraven. Probably Euron, the crow who opened his third eye.

Hey LmL, Scorpiax here. Another awesome video! More and more I watch your videos and reread the texts, more I understand that Night’s King and Queen figures are destined to be reborn in our story. Euron and Cersei are future poor imitations or pretenders to these figures. Dany needs to go through the death and rebirth process to transfrom from fiery to icy maiden, which you showcase perfectly in your videos. She is the true Night’s Queen parallel that will emerge by the end, just as I think Jon will as Night’s King.
After her death in Westeros, in order to “touch the light”, Dany will have to “pass beneath the shadow”. Probably in Asshai after her resurrection in Volantis by Benerro and Red Priests. To go through underworld journey and uncover “the truth” Quaithe was talking about. That “truth” is key to her transformation from Queen Daenerys Stormborn, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons, etc. into Night’s Queen character. She will have to go back to south of Westeros, probably Dorne, to confirm her identity (“to go north, you must journey south”), wherever that “house with the red door with lemon tree outside the window” is. Once confirmed, she will prepare for her journey north of the Wall, reunite with exiled Jon Snow, become his wife, a mother to his children and “khaleesi” to another nomad tribe of wildlings and live out her days away from games and politics, in harsher climate of icy terrains, but happy and content for the first time in her life. Iron Throne was never her goal in life, she thought the throne will give her that sense of belonging and security, but that is not it. Her ultimate happy story destination is beyond the Wall with Jon, Ghost and the wildlings.

I really do love LML's analysis. This stuff has saved me during quarantine.
I do wonder, though, if instead of a literal shower of moon meteors causing the long night, it's a metaphor for the Bloodstone Emperor using a blood sacrifice ritual to create the first dragons aka "lightbringer(s)".
It is heavily suggested that dragons are an artificial, though still magical, creation. Perhaps this aspect of them is only being missattrubed to the Valyrian Freehold instead of the Great Empire of the Dawn.
GRRM does use egg/moon metaphors throughout his work. And the sacrifice of Nissa Nissa/Amethyst Empresses to birth a dragon does parallel the deaths of the witch and Danny's family to hatch her dragon eggs. Only death can pay for life after all.
Also, since GRRM has said the strange season's in ASOIAF have a magical cause, the introduction of so much fire magic into the world may have caused a natural and opposite reaction to counterbalance this new magical forced i.e. the Long Night.
Or a third party may have actively sought out a source of cold magic to match the newly created dragons. Dragon Lords do tend to be the conquering types and, for example, the CotF have taken extreme magical actions when they fell threatened.

6:30 “The Other downed men gathered round and gave him a punch and a kiss to welcome him to the brotherhood.”. This def applies to Jon in ADWD.
Jon believes he was “punched” by Bowen marsh when the mutiny happens.
“He PUNCHED Jon in the belly. When he pulled his hand away, the dagger stayed where he had buried it.”
That’s the punch part of the other transformation. The kiss part could come from Melisandre doing the last kiss resurrection.
This is interesting for Jon since he’d be revived by fire magic while all the others get revived by ice magic.
I feel there’s more symbolism and foreshadowing to interpret from this line of thinking. Just some food for thought if you’d like to entertain it.

I'm 99% sure that the "bittersweet ending" to the song that we have been promised will have one grand subversion of expectations, or twist. Now I know it might be a little too easy to puzzle out for GRRM to just be like "surprise the whitewalkers were the good guys the whole time" but I think it will be a part of that. The entire song we've been sung has been from p.o.v. of character's who have biases and are wrong about things quite oft'. Everyone thinks the others are the enemy because that's what they grew up being told. Much like the free folk, who are believed by most to be subhuman savages, yet wiser characters like the Halfhand know that they are men just like northman. I put a lot of stock in the children being the real enemy and possibly Bloodraven not being the 3 eyed crow but the Great Other. I do believe that Euron is set to be the ultimate HUMAN antagonist, a perfect crescendo of villainy following Jeoff and Ramsay, but I don't see him achieving the god status he seeks. I could be and probably am wrong but as always amazing work lml. I tip my cap to your analysis and depth of knowledge.

counterpoint: the word "other" is otherwise common in English.
also: Kings only need Queens for the sake of the Realm after they die, to ensure the lineage is in reactionary hands. If you are immortal, you are not planning for any successor, and any Queen will only produce The Competition for the job you fought to get.

What if there are multiple god powers that can be accessed throughout planetos? The one that leads the others is one that can be accessed by a mortal with the right bloodline or something.. maybe that’s why there are so many “Odin figures” in the books.. maybe it means they have the ability to access this or something.. anyways, the gray king and the krakens, night king and the others, the stallion that mounts the world.. maybe that’s why there’s so many different long night tales.. maybe it’s the way different blood lines can harness the lord of lights power and the Great Other, and it manifests in different ways, maybe this story will have multiple “god like powers accessed at the same time. Euron and the kraken, Jon snow and the others, Danny and the dragons ( the vision at 1402 showing her eye getting sucked on, accessing the god-like power).. Just with so many knights king figures happening at the same time.. and maybe Euron found a way to access multiple ones.. maybe he’ll master, the others, the kraken, and dragons and more to be the god on earth emperor again if he can master multiples. Bran and the 3eyed crow is another. The old gods, the new gods.. idk.
For twenty was intense, before I wrote this..

I’m still fairly convinced that Jamie and Cersei are the Mad King’s kids, and that “white fire” is somehow a reference to Cersei being a Targaryen bastard

This theory has more chances to be Canon alongside with fAegon being a Blackfyre and R+L=J theories than the "Tyrion Targaryen" theory and N+A=J!
