I’m assuming you didn’t know it but Snagging is for salmon only. Not steelhead trout. That one you caught should have been let go.

You still have to release them, alot of anglers just leave them on the ground, which it's hardening , but you see quite often!

@@nenucfishing The infraction is poaching. If caught it would result in a fine and your gear confiscated. If you didn't know that wasn't a salmon It's your responsibility to know the fish species and rules and laws. The DNR doesn't care that you don't know you would get a ticket and fine. Fish responsibly.
