I live in India and here we put henna on our hands as a tradition whenever we go to weddings. So the main use of oil is to support the colour of henna. If you put oil on surface before putting henna, the colour and effect of henna would come out brighter and really vibrant ! So its basically not for prepping skin, but actually a catalyst. I do henna tatoos so... Some recomendations are -The more time you leave the paint on your skin the more pigmentated it would be -If you want to do precise tiny spots you should use a toothpick -You should wash your face before the paint is completely dry if the henna you are using is really liquid, if it has a semi-solid texture as it becomes solid you should take it off to avoid hiperpigmentation -For this kind of works you should use semi-solid light redish brown henna Hope this is helpful ;)

Three things, 1) this was most likely fake henna. Like, it most likely had dye in it. I always have bad reactions to henna that has dye in it so usually in my household, they make me try it first on like my hand before they do anything with it 😂😂 You should try using natural Henna powder. 2) You left it for way too long. I already taught you were taking too long half way through the application. The longer you leave it on, the more it holds. 3) It fades with water, so just trying washing your face as often as possible. Any oils or oily products make it darker so avoid those. Usually, we use oil on it to make it darker and to last longer
The color on her hand is actually what real henna would look like. Not saying that that would be a good color for freckles, but she definitely had a reaction on her face.

You used the the emergency one,the emergency one is pretty dark and stains faster,you should have used the light ones,they would have looked natural, i hope you get it removed fast somehow.

Actually golecha shouldn't be used anywhere on skin. It contains other chemicals like sodium picramate and amaranth (red dye #2 banned in US in 1976) to produce the red stain.

You used the the emergency one,the emergency one is pretty dark and stains faster,you should have used the light ones,they would have looked natural, i hope you get it removed fast somehow.

Non emergency all natural henna cones can be purchased directly from professional henna artists online in small, not mass produced batches. Henna paste should only contain henna powder from henna leafs, water/lemon juice, and various essential oils. I recommend hennacaravan.com where I purchase all my henna supplies to mix my own. I have been a professional henna artist for 9 years and I am ICNHA certified.

Actually golecha shouldn't be used anywhere on skin. It contains other chemicals like sodium picramate and amaranth (red dye #2 banned in US in 1976) to produce the red stain.
