Many thanks to Embark for inviting me to check Season 1 before the game released. This is all the lore I found during their preview event, but there's tons of more stuff to uncover.
I was about to fall asleep when this game shadow launched, had to get up and play.

Had a bad headache from the night before. Saw it get launched on X/Twitter and immediately hopped on and downloaded it. Headache went away within minutes. I must’ve manifested my headaches away or something. Most fun I’ve had in gaming since years. Truly something new and refreshing.

My theory is that the real world is pretty dystopian, and everyone wishes they could go back in time when things were better. Additionally, maps with dates could be hinting that their real world counterparts have some signifcanc, being either destroyed, greatly changed, or a cultural interest.
Please keep making these indepth content, no one does it on this level. It's some really unique niche content and I and many others really appreciate it :)

Imagine if Odilia retired (or worse, died) and her likeliness was simply scrapped for people inside this universe to use her as a cosmetic item. It would make for an interesting exploration on the persistence of our online presence even after we're gone
I’m onboard with this type of narrative. Such a great contrast to the overly cheerful and vibrant atmosphere of the game-show. I want to see the other [dark] side of the coin - pun intended.
Tbh in the previous open betas, I notice Scotty was usually off in his voice lines during the final round. Like if he was destructed by something or something was bothering him
that's probably because Embark uses AI for their voice lines, so some of them sound off
Knowing that it's the year 2100 and people spend more time in VR than in the Meatspace, plus the abudance of sponsors, it seems like the real world in The Finals is a pretty terrible dystopia. It would deffinietly make sense for this organization to hack the show and leave hidden messages for the contestants, in order to wake society up from this VR induced vegetation state.
I really like the Battlefield 3 and 4 vibes those easter eggs have.
I think the biggest tell is the Holtow company. Digital insurance is a remarkably dystopian concept; economically it makes very little sense for anyone to purchase insurance on a digital asset unless there are artificial barriers to restoring digital property with a simple backup or other similar methods

Imagine if this game ever gets its lore expanded to the point where we could see some overwatch 1 style archive missions in the real world out side the finals game show

Slightly disappointed that only one other map was added but it's gorgeous and feels very unique. I see a bright future for the game if they keep the content rolling.

i love this game its awsome and i also love how they did the battles i can buy the weapons that i want and it dont feel like its pay to win meaning that the guns is what you buy is what you get and no upgrades which is great everybody can have the samething and i also love the battle pass its very creative and very refreshing.
What we learned in Apex Legends and CoD is anything can become pay to win. If the skin would help improve weapon visibility ever so slightly, or the character skin would help you blend in to the environment, people would be willing to pay top dollar for that advantage.

The Las Vegas 2032 map is based on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Nevada (pleaaaaase do the map video). Interestingly, despite being dated 10 years in the future, in a game taking place 80 years in the future, nearly all the aesthetics are reminiscent of current-day Fremont street, from the casinofronts to the games themselves, while the architecture outside the street (and in other places) is decidedly futuristic. I'm not really sure if there's something there lorewise.
Yes, I’m aware! I’m actually finishing the script for the Vegas analysis. IMO there is a lore reason for that map but I will talk about it in a future video. Thanks for watching!
@@SPEARHEADPR Upon further inspection, the casino games are almost 1:1 with real life models. The graphics are different, but they’re similar enough to be super recognizable
@rpglover101 yes, it’s completely intentional. For legal reasons they can’t have moving graphics and certain elements that can incite gambling - they went as far as they could in terms of 1:1 resemblance to Vegas.
What are the odds there’s like a “glitch in the simulation” where things take a dark turn? Like matrix-esque? Or things arent really what they seem almost? I get that feeling from the trailers…. feels like something isn’t being said….

spear i looked in the open beta trailer and where the screen goes glitchy there is a secret message that says this broadcast has been hacked by CNS??? and then there is just some stuff that is hard to read but who is CNS btw
Yes, CNS has hacked two broadcasts so far. We’ve added their info and messages to the Wiki, but we still don’t know who they are. There are some theories going around about what CNS stands for, like “Central Nervous System” - which could be a hint as confirmed by Rob (CCO of Embark).
How did you managed to play on maps alone? I thought game's doesnt have custom mode
I’m not playing alone, and you are correct, there is no Custom Mode. I’m simply exploring the map and avoiding fights.

Why could Monaco 2014 be a reference to F1? Seems a bit far fetched because there's also a Monaco 2015, 16, 17, 18, 19, ... in Formula 1. But besides that, interesting video. Looking forward for more.
Would love to see them add small formula cars at the harbor that you can see in the distance of the monaco map
We don’t know, that’s why it’s just a theory/comment. Most of the lore/EE in the game is a reference to IRL events, usually to specific dates, even if they don’t directly correlating to them. But we simply don’t know how it all connects yet. Thanks for watching.

Cant barely watch. Getting ready for work, but i wonder if one of the commentators specifically Scotty is "evil" so to speak. Theres a dark story to one of them. Curious
With the way Scotty talks to June and reacts to some of her comments during matches, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is. I’ll talk more about it in my next lore video!
I personally don't understand why they would have AI voices do the announcing but not have them say your ign
you could make ur ign something suggestive or offensive like "nick ger" and if the announcers read it that would not be good for embark. probably need to fine tune it more before thing like this are implemented.
