I will be making this for my Easter dinner this year, Also, the root vegetable salad. I made that last year. Thank you for bringing some polish culture back into my life. Has been too long!
I didn't try your pascha this year but I did make your babka, with a couple additions (Grand Marnier in addition to the vanilla and the zest of one orange). The babka didn't rise like yours did, in fact I thought it was ruined and I made a second. I baked them both despite the lack of rise and they came out great! My aunt is staying with us and every day since Easter she has eaten and raved about it.
I am looking into my polish heritage and thought what better way than to start with the culinary aspect. Thank you for sharing this video, I am going to make this for my family this holiday season. I look forward to viewing the other video/recipes you shared :-)
I'd love to try your recipe sometime, thanks for sharing it. My mom used to make a wonderful pascha for Easter. Her recipe has been misplaced so I'm experimenting with others I found online, so far nothing compares to hers.
The yeast was new and worked well when I activated it so I assume it was good. I think you're right about the temperature being too low in the house. Next time I'll try a little more yeast as well.
did you change the yeast for the second try? usually it is the problem, when they get old they dont rise that well or your house was not warm enough :) i usually bump up the temperature for yeast baking! Usually when it doesn't rise the way i want for the second batch i add additional half a tsp just to make it stronger.
your son is so cute! this looks delicious except i definitely will be putting in Walnuts, Almonds, and pistachios... maybe decorate with dried candied fruits or dried...would it be appropirate to decorate outside with fresh fruits?
it would be a bit crumbly I think, because of the fruits but I have to admit I have never tried it this way :) it always feels more like kind of pudding dessert.
if it is about the temperature, try to keep the dough in the microwave or in the turned off oven with the lights on. let me know how the next time will look like :)
O matko! Prawdziwa pascha! Cudowny przepis!

My family is Carpatho-Rusyn, we make a sweet cheese similar to this for Easter, called Hrudka... You have a wonderful channel...!

Mm! I agree!
i can't see why not :) I need to prepare it with some nuts too but i am waiting for my daughter to get out of the choking hazard age :)
