In the dark side ending of Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Starkiller embraces his anger and power which leads him to becoming like Darth Vader. Emperor Darth Sidious repairs him and uses him as an assassin who he will throw away just like Vader. Pretty cool dark side ending cutscene.

What I like best about this ending is the fact that Palpatine doesn't even try to pretend he is Starkillers friend like he did with Vader. He doesnt care about him at all. He is now Palpatine's slave. Very accurate of how Palpatine would treat him.
Actually Lord Sidious cares for Vader in Legends . . . .to certain extent, he is a Sith and Vader is his Masterpiece. . . .he even states it was my fault, not Lord Vader's fault his betrayal.
Well he spent years sowing distrust and contempt into anakin slowly turning him to the dark side so in his mind he wanted to collect on his investment so he might as well treat him with some respect cuz he knows vader is next to unbeatable even in his current state. Unlike palpatines previous apprentices he doesnt have any replacements lined up
If starkiller didnt try to betray sidious he would have treated him way better. He kept going on about how he could have been his succesor and yada yada
@@0predaking0 Sorry I’m late but that’s actually surprisingly wholesome for Sith standards. I was always under the assumption much like in Disney cannon Palpatine could care less especially considering how much stronger Legends Palpatine is compared to what we have now.
@@somethingfunny2199 No he did somewhat care about Vader by saying he was his very first monster he created and his masterpiece. He talks about it in the book after ROTJ. He did however have replacements and he constantly tested Vader. Right before ANH he had 4 separate replacements that he had been making for 20 years that were forced to battle Vader to see who'd come out on top and if he was still worthy of being the apprentice.
His scream at the end is very haunting

That is actually terrifying to imagine. Watching your friends die knowing you could have stopped it, have a ship crush you only for you to be saved to be used as a slave against your will and told you will be thrown away once your usefulness has been used up.

The creators have talked about this ending saying it was supposed to be shit for Starkiller, because in Star wars the dark side is ultimately self destructive so that’s why you become a pawn to Sidious

@@sithlordzach8418 yah, a bit more information on His suit Is that it’s called a stalker suit, and it quite literally is a type of armor and prosthetics that are physically applied to the wearers body down to the bones except for the arms and head, but even on the arms, they usually have at least one arm is mostly prosthetic except for bits of flesh and tissue left to not decrease the wearers ability to use the force. The suit has everything darth Vader’s suit doesn’t, it isn’t slow or heavy, it can’t be removed, and it allows the user to keep as much to their potential power as possible, but unlike Vader’s armor, which was not necessary painful, but more of a major inconvenience like itching and uncomfortable bits of the suit, I can only imagine that the stalker suit Galen has was and always would torture Galen 24-7, and could never be removed. If it wasn’t for Galen being so powerful, I bet he would have died of pain, a lack of sleep (Which I believe would be a complete understatement), and physical Deterioration within a week.

@@DBZ96587 Well it still is painful but the cybernetics themselves are top notch. Which I think makes more sense given that he's a very skilled engineer/mechanic as well as now one of the most powerful people in the galaxy. He likes the pain to an extent though and uses it to draw closer to the dark side. If you think it's stupid just look at a TIE pilots helmet and life support system - it's way bulkier than Vader's suit despite having to do far less and only gets to a similar size by the time of the First Order, so going off of that Vader's suit is almost 20-30 years into the future

The scene disturbed me too. Starkiller's whole life if you think about it was ruined by that meeting with Vader as a small child. Poor kid never had a chance!

It also gives great reassurance and confidence which shapes your future decisions. Which dare I say makes you happier by default, depending on what you sacrificed to gain said power.

allbrosdjay TBH, Yoda was half right about that. The Dark Side can be very seductive and only those with a strong will can prevent themselves from being turned, like Luke when he was being tempted by Palpatine. And he probably would have turned if it wasn’t for his love for his father.

The real tragedy about this ending is that at the end of the dlc, Starkiller is able to pull Luke to the dark side and while that seems like a win for Starkiller he’s actually playing right into sidious’ hands and ultimately making the same mistakes Vader made with him by bringing sidious his own replacement and likely Sidious’ true successor

This guy is easily more terrifying than Vader. The way he sounds more like a monster than a person. Also the fact that he still has a lot of human features left which probably means he’s way more agile than Vader and could easily move faster than you

Darkest part of this? It's like Vader's reconstruction, but if Anakin was completely against it and forced to be Palpatine's slave. The sudden cut from regular Starkiller to completely messed up under that suit, Starkiller's scream at the end, that shit is haunting. Given all Palpatine says he's clearly going to have him totally brainwashed into service, and that scream sells the whole idea.
What do you think the needles are for? he's being fitted with chemicals and the like, could be memory blockers, combat drugs, anything else you can think of, he's a mockery of Vader. Deliberately.

For those who are MEGA star wars or Force unleashed fan. You know what's even more terrifying about this alternate ending is that after being made a sith stalker he becomes a sith stalker with only a few basic organs left. Like he literally becomes a really haunting image of what grievous and an assassin of the sith would look like of they were mashed together with only hate and fear. You can see what this looks like with one of the hidden outfits that you can get
Exactly. The cybernetic reconstruction skin is what I believe he looked like in the evil ending cutscene. He can't even talk during that scene, and later in the DLC he's looking much more...complete I guess? Plus there's that Jedi temple mission where you meet the evil version, and he looks like normal, just way more pale.

That outfit has nothing to do with what he looks like in the video. That other outfit is just a more extreme version.

Scary fact: the respiratory machine is forcing him to breath
In this ending Palpatine says that he’s going to be nothing more than a puppet and walks off to let the droids finish their work, but then in the first mission in this timeline, he refers to Stalker as ‘my apprentice’ almost begrudgingly. As if Galen’s potential and ruthlessness as a Sith was still impressive enough for Sidious to reconsider his position, it may also be why Stalker was eager to recruit Luke for himself as he knew that Luke would be perhaps the only person Sidious could find that would be seen as a viable replacement for Dark Side Galen.

I thought this was the legit canon ending and I was confused, I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I faced off against Palpy on my second run

For anyone who doesn’t know there’s a couple of DLCs that explore this alternate ending. Palpatine There’s one on Tatooine where you have to hunt down Luke Skywalker and fight obi-wan. Followed up by a later DLC where you lead the empire in an assault on Hoth.

I always love how he says “you had such potential” “you could’ve been my equal, my successor” when we all know the rule of 2 in the sith order for where there can never be 2 sith of equal power one for is always the master and the other the apprentice or in most cases who will betray the other first which is usually the master
The rule of two has to work in both the favor of the apprentice and the master, see it's architect, Darth Bane. on the other hand Palpatine exploits it by having the upper hand in terms of sheer knowledge and immersion in the Dark Side. not a single apprentice was ever capable of being or becoming his equal, barring Anakin before Mustafar. betrayal need not be the way to initiate a challenge to the master from the apprentice's point of view. and the Master has the luxury of always looking to see wether they could be training someone better and more suited to succeed them.
@@foulmoodcentral2830 and yet most dark side masters would either keep their apprentices on a leash by either implementing horrible safeguards upon their acolytes for they never truly trusting them with all their knowledge as they were mostly paranoid of losing everything to their usurper for the concept of selfishness or perhaps trust was a rarity for the Sith as I’ve seen anyway aside from the rare few that exhibited those traits towards their apprentices. Though the quest for power corrupts absolutely for most sith are drunk on their own power to the point it becomes their own shackles of fear as the sith isolate themselves as their swallowed by paranoia and skepticism which is ironic when looking at the sith code🤷🏼♂️

the Sith's aim had been to create a counter civilization that could challenge and conquer the Republic, challenge and conquer the Jedi. and for that they needed soldiers, arms, machines, warfleets and so on, and force sensitives.
but amongst the Sith themselves there was no incentive or reason to limit the abilities or potential of their apprentices unless it was expedient to do so, strife and adversity, chaos and rivalry all served as whetstones to hone them into becoming the best they could be, a Master can only stay the master if their claim and power is true and their position stays relevant. it is when they seclude themselves and start adding hindrances and limits to their pupil's teaching or aims that they get in the way, they therefore, have become truly weak, their claim to power is a false one. and in need of replacement. a worthy apprentice can practically smell this, knows this. and knows when it is time to act, or to wait.
Remember, the Master must always embody the power the apprentice so very much craves. otherwise both will fail the other.

The guy can pull a Star destroyer out of orbit but can't stop a tie fighter sized ship from crushing him 👏
It was right after a major fight, his will was broken after seeing his friends killed and being faced with his own failure. He was able to redirect the Star Destroyer because he was able to maintain his focus and direct all of it towards the Star Destroyer. When you stop to consider all that Anakin did during the Clone Wars and then is defeated by Obi-Wan so easily at the end of the battle, it's because Anakin's focus was gone. The same with Starkiller. He couldn't stop the small ship because his mind and spirit were broken.
I liked the Evil ending but I didn’t like how StarKiller just accepts a ship being tossed at him… like bruh you single handily brought down a Star Destroyer with the force.
I think it was more like he was able to influence were it crashed. And only with all his focus. When Sidious threw the ship at him he was shocked by how he had failed the rebels, unfocused.
@@177SCmaro the directors came put and said the ps2 version is the definitive experience and he brings down a star destroyer and easier than this game, so really he does have the power to do so.

I'm not sure that is, or was before the dark times, before Disney, canon. If it was, that would mean that Starkiller was arguably more powerful than Anakin/Vader and even rivaled the Emperor despite being so young.

This reminded me so much of the scene in the movies where Vader is being fitted into his suit for the first time. I never thought about it until recently, but the sheer agony of Vader and Starkiller's screams coupled with the nonchalant, soulless and downright eerie movements of the medical droids makes their scenes all the more horrifying, and that's without the implication of how with this process they've fully become the Emperor's puppet

I remember reading on another website that this was the first game where the Dark Side ending doesn’t involve you taking over the galaxy, or winning at all for that matter.

Palpatine saying that he will replace him when he finds someone else is a tactic that the sith used to motivate their apprentices to get better and become more powerful, but at the same time they also mean it. Like the time when Darth plagues was thinking about replacing palpatine with dooku because he saw his potential as a Jedi, and palpatine worked his ass off to prove that he was still a worthy apprentice
