The sign that this is a great demo is that it's making me want to buy a Dig, a Voyager and a second Prophet 6!
Awesome pedal, but I'd say this is also the best Prophet 6 demo on RUclips.
Strymon - these videos sell pedals. Love your designs, aesthetic, and as a keyboard player, really appreciate the specialty videos. Please keep them coming, proud owner of Deco and el cap! Going to add this to my setup soon!
Thank you so much :D
So much of this video speaks to my ignorance with synths and programming, in particular.
Thank you so much for doing this demonstration.
It's really nice to hear the pedal with synthesizers for a change.
Peter Dyer is such a talented player.
I'm not much of piano man but I have to admit his sound at 8:00 is amazing.
+1 on CV inputs for the future!
This guy is so fucking talented
Simply amazing, spectacularly done!!!!!!
At 2:45... awesome..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Peter for your skill... you really know ho to use these Synthesizers...
Really beautiful patch @ 5:30
nice demo, I love using your pedals on my guitars and synths... really brings them to life.
Peter Dyer is so cool!
Fantastic video!
Every time you guys get Peter Dyer to do a demo I end up having to buy another pedal hahahahah. This is by far the most expensive youtube channel that I'm subscribed to :-)
I own and absolutely love the Timeline and recently started to really get into the dual delay machine in that one. Have you guys done any comparisons between that and the DIG? Curious to understand how they are similar or different.
Don DENKER Thanks for checking out our videos! :) We have not made an official comparison between the DIG and the TimeLine Dual delay, but the main differences between them are that there is more tweakability in the different ratios, modulation, and filter controls on the TimeLine. However, the Dig has the unique digital voicings for 24/96, ADM, and 12 bit delays, the ability to set the output configuration to ping pong between the left and right outputs when used in stereo, and the Golden Ratio tap division which provides delays that will never step on the repeats for getting a great ambient sound with long trails.
same here.
Waaaooo!!! Love Strymon products!!
Glorious!
sounds so nice, and top notch demos as usual. great to see it used with a modular system. please consider offering the modular community a solution for using control voltages via the expression input on this and other pedals so we don't have to kludge things together. this pedal in particular would shine with a clock input.
***** Thanks for checking out the video and for the feedback! :) I will pass this along to the team.
strymon great product and customer support. the only tough choice now is which strymon to get...
strymon An accessory in the Favorite Switch format with 1/4 and 3.5mm access jacks to the tap tempo would be great. Also...a high/low gate to enable/disable Favorite switch would seem relatively easy.
Cv control would be ace. Great demo!!
+strymon I like to see a modular in Strymon world also. I use my timeline all the time with my MOTM modular system. I'd love to see more CV access to some of your pedals. Clock input, rah rah. Or assignable CV input?
This is some hardcore marketing.. I mean.. I really wasn't into buying a delay pedal. But this thing sounds incredible.
Although it's potentially harder to hear the pedals when using them on synths as apposed to acoustic guitars please keep these synth videos coming! They're great.
Thank you! We will. We just did some new ones with Mobius that should be posted in the next month :)
Awesome!
should give this fine fellow a commission. great demo. sold!
If I didn't have one already I'd be buying one :) For me the best delay pedal ever
I love my Blue Sky - it's top quality, and it sounds like this is the next one I'll have to get. Great demo - from a synth lover.
Thank you :D
Damn this sounds amazing! I want a Dig so bad. I have a Volante and that sounds great, but this is just another flavor of delay!
Lovely demo, thanks. You make them all sound superb, it's hard to know which one to start with for my Pro 2!
+Cameron Pope Thank you! Look forward to hearing which one you go with. If you need any help feel free to reach out to us at support@strymon.net :)
Awesome! Hope to see some videos posted in the future ;D
1:47 Really cool sounding delay
loop
How do you choose between this and the el capitan? :(
2:15 Jaw dropping
I'm thinking I need the DiG for my synth setup. It just sounds so clean and clear. This guy..what can you say? He's just amazing. Thanks!
All of his demos are amazing!
Also, does anyone know why the "bypass" light turns on when bypass is off?
atk326 Glad you enjoyed the video! :) The Bypass light is actually designed to go on when the effect is on and off when the effect is off. Seems a little funny, but everyone gets it when using the pedals.
I Dig It!
+Elinin Ha!
I want these pedals so badly, but as a college student I have to choose between eating and making music, I think in the end I'll just choose music and starve, because I need these pedals.
Hi, We are flattered that you enjoy the Strymon pedals. Also keep an eye out in the next few weeks we will be doing a contest. It's always worth a try to enter :)
Saame haha
The answer is simple, eat the pedals! You could also play with food but that gets real messy.
Make one like this but for the Timeline
Cool! I'm a little glad this is a digital delay because I'm covered on that (I have the Modcan dual delay module). I still can't afford to get the DECO so I didn't need another magic box to lust over! ;~)
Follow up: I've since obtained both the DECO and the DIG!!!! :-)
@@JohnLRice I’m thinking of that exact combo, how do you like it? Which would you recommend getting first?
@@andyscott5277 I guess it depends on what instruments you want to run through the pedals and what sort of sound you are looking for? The DECO is more about overall tone/texture and probably shines more on cleaner instruments/sounds and the DIG is mostly about simple to complex delays, obviously. So far, I've gotten a lot more use out of the DIG (I love delays!) but the DECO is really cool too and I look forward to using it more in the future. (In particular for processing digital Mellotron sounds etc)
@@JohnLRice didn’t expect you to respond so quickly, thanks! I’ve got a Nord Electro 6D 73, and a Moog Grandmother. Big fan of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock/pop. Like that the Deco could give my music a "retro" feel, and can be applied to both keyboards and even vocals. Think the Deco/Dig combo would generate a classic 80’s New Wave sound. Eventually want chorus, delay and reverb, as my Moog only has the spring reverb, which is nice but limited. Overall, debating wether I should spend the money on high end pedals, or get a cheaper multi effects unit like the Zoom ms-70 cdr, though I’ve heard mixed reviews on its sound and build quality? Another thought is if I’m going the high end route, maybe I should get a Linesix multi effects unit? Would save money in the long run, as opposed to individual Strymon pedals, but I’m not really a fan of extensive menu diving. A lot of considerations. New to effects pedals, and synthesis in general, so it’s all a bit overwhelming, albeit exciting 😅
@@andyscott5277 It is SO hard to choose and also very addictive! ;-) Not to make your decision any harder 😁 but have you looked close at the Strymon El Capistan pedal? It is a feature rich tape delay emulator but also has a simple spring reverb emulation in it that sounds good. It would likely be really useful for getting the 60's/70's sounds you are after? Note: if you buy a used one just be aware that after a year or two they made a couple changes to the El Capistan that may or may not be important to you, 1) the later revision has stereo pass through and 2) the later revision has non-clicking electronically switched foot switches. If you get one and don't care for it the resale on them is pretty darn good considering how many are out there . . . if you buy a good used one you might even be able to resell it with little or no loss?
What is that song he's playing starting at 00:42? I can hear parts of the recording in my head but not enough to identify it. Thanks!
ebeep All of it was stuff that Peter made up on the spot for the vid! :)
Can you please tell me if this item is going to be available in the uk and on places like ebay etc. Thank you.
zark212 Hi, if you visit www.strymon.net/dealers/#international you can see who will be selling DIG in your area :) Thanks!
strymon Thank you Strymon that's awesome :)
okay keyboard synths i get, but i have no idea what this genius of an engineer is doing after 3:40... how do you even operate those robots...
That is the world of modular synths, my friend
Matt Damon playing keys. Nice!
Would love to use one with my Memorymoog+
1:14 Holy mother of god
Strymon records Peter Dyer and everyone loses their minds. Peter would sound this good with a mixer and fx send going to a 3 head walkman.
Does anybody know what box that is he's playing around 6:18 or so?

Frank Jurden +1 to Tyler Huskerson
Another +1 to Tyler Huskerson
did you use a delay pedal?
Hi Les, :) This is a demo for the DIG Dual Delay pedal.
Which synth at 3:38? Anyone knows?
Hi Luca, That is Peter's Modular rig, check the description at the bottom for the list of instruments in his rig :) Thanks so much!
Crickey. This would sound great with my moog and strat. He said trying to justify the lust.
:42 sounds like that Chin Smokers chord progression....they probably stole it from watching this
Matt Damon's brother right?
experimental to commercial :)
