Very cool OEM plus 1 build. I have a 2005 Carrera narrow body manual myself here in Australia. I have a question regarding the specs of your wheels - What is the width and ET of the CH-Rs on your 997. I'm running Lobster claws with 5mm spacers and am going to change my wheels. I see the CH-rs can be bought with different widths and ETs as well but I see from your video you bought them used and refurbished them. Would you have bought different specs off the shelf if you were buying these wheels new for your 997 build? ....so as to avoid using spacers? If so, what specs would you have considered. Sorry for the million questions but I am quite meticulous when modding my cars ! Thank you and keep it coming !
I am in the wheel business plus I have a 997.2. I agree with what you have done 100%. One thing though is that I see you are cool with spacers, I am surprised your friend didnt just keep these awesome BBS wheels and put 17mm spacers on to accommodate the turbo wide body. Both wide and narrow 997 use 11" wide wheels from factory! Lucky for you he didnt!
I love your content and taste. I have a 997.1 CS4. I just subscribed and look forward to your episodes! I am looking to get the same wheels but what you recommend for spaces because the rear end is larger. 20mm for the rear and 10mm spacers for the the front ?
Quick question I'm fairly new to the area and need to connect with some local mechanics in the Atlanta area. I have a 964 , 997.2 GTS along with a 2004 Boxster the Porsche experience in Hapeville was a big disappointment. Lots of money with poor service. Love your approach. Thanks, keep the videos coming.
Weissgold is such a great color, especially on a black or white car. What is the suspension set up again? I heard you mention PASM, but I have an 06 Aerokit C2S, and I definitely don’t have that stance. Aftermarket springs? Coilovers? I’ve been thinking about playing with the suspension, definitely will add spacers at some point. Will probably go Rennline as well. Any mounting/fitment/vibration issues with the powder coating and/or spacers? I had my stock Carrera Classics refinished when I bought the car and the excess material behind the center caps caused vibrations when I mounted the wheels. Had to sand it down so they fit better to eliminate the vibration.
What size tires if you don’t mind? I’m running 295/30R19 (rears) and I have a solid 2 finger gap. Yours looks dropped, almost slammed compared to mine and I’m on stock springs with Bilstein B6s.
Thanks for the feedback. Many people have the yellow and gold together but I agree it’s controversial. I think it will look good once I change the exterior color to the dark green I have planned.
@@976darkboy you might be right. these Porsche caps were aftermarket and came from the previous owner with aftermarket wheels so I can’t be sure on that
Thanks for the help, I'll look a bit further into it. I'm planning to get a set of CH-Rs for my .1 c2s but I wasnt 100% sure on them, thanks to you now I'm dead certain, so thank you!
Hi, sorry to ask again. Is your BBS wheels 19’?. I am going to purchase a set from the factory for my 997.2 C4S. I assume it will a different wheel that they will recommend for the C4S. This is what they recommend: Front: CH-R 109 9x19“ ET53 Rear: CH-R 111 11x19“ ET56 What spacers would you recommend on the factory recommended wheels? You input will be much appreciated
No worries. Yes, they are 19s. In terms of spacers, no way to really know but if those are factory offsets for the 4S I would try something between 10-15mm for front and back. Basically like 10, 12, 15mm progressively like I did in the video.
BTW those are replica Porsche caps. The "real" OEM caps are black on the face BUT grey on the back with a small white sticker. You might notice the colors to fade on those replica caps much faster than OEM. Great wheels though.
Correct somehow the replica caps have all the right part numbers on the back. The replica caps are a fine alternative tho and good for you that you painted them gold and not just keep the black caps. BTW your wheels make me reconsider my choice. For one reason or another I have always liked "stepped lip" aftermarket wheels on the 997 so thats what I am doing with my rotiform fuc wheels. @@nineelevensouth
@@jimgraves665 that’s a spectacular wheel. I love stepped lip wheels. Put BBS LMs on my E46 M3 build and looooved them. Wanted to do something different on this build.
@@nineelevensouth Thanks. My passenger side stance with the PASM seems to sit maybe .25 inches or so higher than driver side. If both sides were equal I would likely keep mine stock. Mulling over H&R springs, or sucking it up and pay more for adjustable coil overs. Yours looks fantastic
In love with Weiss gold. Looks so good 👏 tempted to go similar on mine. Enjoying the build 🙌
Doooo it
Love the touches to the car Andrew! Those wheels and the finish really give it an OEM + look. Spacers also give it a nice flush finish 👌🏾
Thanks man!
Andrew, the results are outstanding. You are certainly not faint hearted, ie repainting those center caps, but they look great too. Congrats.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching.
Allways a pleasure fender rolling your cars Andrew this car is coming out 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Car looks sweet, I've long thought these were some of the best wheels for the 997 ❤
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback
Great video. One correction on the wheel though. The BBS CH-R are flow-formed cast wheels. They are not forged.
looks fantastic. Thinking of also going gold. Currently have turbo rims.
Thanks! Hard to go wrong with gold.
Great choice in wheels Andrew. Coming along nicely.🔥🔥🔥

SUCH a great color
Love the Weissgold wheels but just not sure about that forward rake stance!
that is one nicely specc'd 997 from factory, great find. The rims looks amazing. I just don't get the hype behind HRE wheels

Those look great. I considered that color but decided to go dark. If you're selling the black wheels, I'm interested 👍🏾
Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. Already sold the black ones

Def hit up my guys at Autohaus Social. The whole team there is amazing.
What’s your thoughts on the the BBS FI. Looks very OEM+ to me and very GT3. Maybe even a bit more then the CH-R, no?

Stock PASM height. Nothing aftermarket. No mounting issues or vibrations.

Love the weiss gold. IMO the yellow brake calipers don’t match. The yellow distracts from the very nice wheels.

I like that you are making it your own. That is wat counts @@nineelevensouth
Yellow calipers clash with wheel color. I would change wheels back to silver.
Do the original porsche centre caps fit directly onto the bbs wheels without any mods? Thanks!
Yes
