While I see no reason to censor cursing/swearing in these videos, it was very strange to hear the f-bomb from Linus. It's like I was pre-conditioned to believe that he never actually said the word, haha.
Also, so far the video is only 1080p (& lower) for me, which is what I normally watch at, but feels really low quality somehow. Odd.

You could just use chrome remote desktop. It launches with the computer before you log in, all you have to do is send the packets to wake up the PC, then start remote desktop, no need to be logged into the PC itself or anything. I use it quite often and it's great.

Hmmm yes use IPMI which is basically exclusive to server motherboards and loose things like SLI and Cross Fire, usb 3.1 , thunderbolt and other consumer options. Way to go Linus for giving us the most pointless video ever. I clicked on this hoping an asus or gigabyte or etc had put ipmi in one of there consumer boards.

On HP servers the IPMI is called iLO (Integrated Lights-Out) and on dell servers it's called iDRAC (Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller). It sure has saved my ass couple of times when servers in our colo crashed. Do remember that these usually come with huge security leaks and shouldn't really be used in production.

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY. I have always like the fact you keep you language clean, and you have your staff do the same.
IPMI Protocol should never be broadcasted publicly over the internet to be accessed remotely. The only way this should be done is through a hardware VPN gateway to prevent the external access and exploitation of your hardware from malicious individuals. DO NOT PORT FORWARD FOR PROTOCOLS SUCH AS IPMI. The technology used in IPMI is outdated and easily brute-forced by null packets to gain root access to the base hardware of servers. IPMI can be helpful, but I have also seen people openly declare it as a "leech" on their otherwise perfect server motherboard. Search "IPMI insecure" for more information on all of this jazz. Most if it is pretty eye opening.

Why not talk about vPro and AMT which would be more accessible for desktop, laptops and other client based computers VS IPMI which is more server oriented tech?
I've been using the Steam In-Home Streaming feature to remote desktop my main PC from my bedside laptop. Adding the CMD prompt to the game list and then logging into my laptop allows me to launch the CMD from the stream, then all I need to do is type "explorer" and it forces out of the prompt. Has great quality and response time if my connection is stable. And was much easier than finding a remote desktop program that is Linux and Windows compatible, since I already had steam on both, plus it's free.
It's nice to see Linus getting away from consumer grade Products and stepping into the commercial world.
