#Mangupower Mango is a traditional dish, original and typical of some Caribbean countries such as the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. In Costa Rica it is called angú. [1] The mangú is basically a puree of green bananas (or ripe in its version of sweet mangú), and it is made by salting bananas and then crushing them until a puree is obtained. The mofongo is an Afro-Antillean dish that has clear fufu roots (different vegetables with starch) from West Africa. It was introduced into the Caribbean by Africans living in the Spanish colonies of the New World such as Puerto Rico (Mofongo), Cuba (banana fufu) and the Dominican Republic (mofongo). Fufú is made up of a starchy root of crushed boiled vegetables and bananas, and mixed with water, butter or milk until it has a dough consistency.

Have family who live there around Fordham and I don't know how to explain it, but it's always a great vibe when I'm there, walking down the Concourse, etc. Whenever I tell my friends I want to live in the bronx, they think I'm crazy. But I always feel so good when I'm in the BX.
I LOVE THE BX!!! 😍😍❤️❤️I'm from Nashville TN and the BX gave me nothing but love when I came to visit! My hubby is from Castle Hill 🇵🇷 I'm surprised you guys didn't stop by Cross Bronx pizzeria and get a slice 😋😋🍕🍕
There is pizzeria Castle Hill and Bruckner where a slice of pizza is so huge,,one 8s not enough for me haha
I grew up in the Bronx and lived in many places . and finally some one as spoken Positive about the Bronx. I loved the video and shawn Dunn was wonderful help and knows his places of eats. Thank you guys.
Thank You Traveling Clatt.
I’m from Queens but I’m always in the Bronx. The Bronx is full of hidden gems. From Hunts Point to Riverdale. The culture is one of a kind and I love it.
Idk about finding any "Gems" on Hunts Point xD unless you're in to that kind of stuff hahah
@@NySuperFly989 see you thinking hookers and drugs. There's a few spots worth checking there. I personally love Barretto park. That park has awesome views of the city, it's on Viele Avenue. If you go there before school is out it's actually very peaceful. Hence "hidden gems"
@@lucasmossman3820 you haven't fully explored hunts point. Yeah we all know how gutter it gets there, but in my previous comment i stated a place to go there. ALSO if any one like dirty water dogs (how appropriate) Across the street from Chase there's a dude that sells the best dirty water hot dogs in the city! He makes his own chilli and it's really good, if you like spicy.
@@NySuperFly989 Angel, for me is the other way around. I'm from The Bronx, But i'm always in QB the Place 2B. love the BX but Queens Has an awesome night life............

I’m from Da BRONX and have been living in Japan for some years now. I just visited the Bronx this summer and man I miss being there. So many buildings and other things have changed but that BRONX feeling was the same. Da BRONX is one of those places you leave come back and feel like you never really left. I mean the first day back which was a Friday was a little off for me as there were so many people out and about. But by the next morning I was out and got right into the life as if I had never left.
The Italian guy is awesome! He's needs his own show.
Beef patties, steak Shish kabob, NY style pizza, the bagels, Dominican food, Chinese food, the smell of coffee something about NY coffee....I miss NY so much now living in LA, and the Bronx still has that NY feel from the early 2000s .....
Great presentation! You guys did a great job with showing certain parts of the "Boogy Down" Bronx!
I live in the Bronx and I live in the Pelham Parkway. I love going to Little Italy to go to the market. I also get my cheese from La Casa De Mozzarella. Glad someone saw the amazing culture and love behind the crime here.
Yeah it's such an awesome place
TheTravelingClatt haha I forgot to add full moon is my go to place after some shopping in little italy
Lived off Pelham Parkway for two years - one of the best places on earth (minus the 5 train). If you like mozz, try Battaglia's on Eastchester Rd!!
Eating TopRamen they skipped too many places. They didn't even go to city island
Eating TopRamen , my dad was the president the Pelham Parkway little league, gorgeous buildings
Can’t forget the bacon egg and cheese
In da Bronx?
Naaa, it’s baconeggandcheese😭
And chopped cheese
@@TheTravelingClatt yes the main breakfast sandwich of da Bronx from the bodega lol.

This video is sooo well made. Love your enthusiasm about NYC!!! I'm from Brooklyn and sometimes I feel like locals become jaded and don't even realize how much good stuff there is in NYC
The Bronx has so much potential and could easily be the best borough to live in if a few things changed. Thanks for showing some of the great things in the Bronx. As someone who lives here, I wish more people would realize the Bronx isn’t that bad.
Yes, but hope it doesn't turn into what Harlem is looking like.

Really enjoy this vlog and I'm glad you went to the Bronx, it does has a bad reputation, but like any place there is good and bad areas, as long as you ain't looking for trouble, you will be fine
I think so as well!
😂😂😂Cuz if you show up looking for trouble I guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed.....😏

Brother.. i really needed this video today .. the beauty of reality among the people..the humanity shines.. it was amazing when shawn says " dont be afraid , dig in " sharing his food as if you were brothers. How humble the community is Through out day even when they are working. The Bronx really does seem like a hidden gem. Recently was emotionally and spiritually broken from work , but this video gave me comfort..thanks brother.
Thanks for bringing back a lot of good memories. I’ve been living in Asia the past 10 years but being from New York, these are the things that I miss.

I like the Bronx because of the zoo, Yankee Stadium, and the botanical garden. Tour the forgotten borough, Staten Island. Stop at every station on the SIR. The Impractical Jokers are from Staten Island
Coming soon
I’m from Brooklyn and the first time I took the SIRR I was surprised to see you can board for free at most all of the stops.
I always see your comments at the "Only In Japan" channel. Hahaha
I’m was born and raised in Staten Island I promise you there nothing good going out here there nothing to tour nun of that Staten Island is ass
Alli no mas. Viva Cuba. I love the South Bronx.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m from the Bronx and there are some beautiful places here especially the food and people
I wanna thank you guys for this video and making me realize how special the Bronx really is. I’ve live here all my life and never took the time to visit most of these important spots in the Bronx so because of you guys I will make is my business to go show some love and respect to these locations.
I'm seeing this a year later, but was intrigued and happy I clicked onto your channel. Excellent tour! The Italian gentleman making cheese was so entertaining and interesting. Appreciate the host and his subscriber, you did an excellent job gentleman of showing us around the Bronx! As a non-native of New York, I still thoroughly enjoyed it
Bronx ..the home of great talents. This was great tour! Hehe so cute, the way you two were dancing like back in high school, enjoying and appreciating the food, places and kindness of the business owners. Look like a great time, thanks for taking us along. Bronx always reminds me of KRS1, and D-Nice, Fat joe , Big Pun and the boricua / Morena anthem. Cedar Playground reminded me of self destruction video though not sure it was shot there but somehow it reminded me of it. Boogie Down Bronx alot of great history and greats!!
Used to live in The Bronx. In the area called Riverdale. Loved it. The street food is INCREDIBLE. Looks like you had a great time.
It's awesome!
Riverdale is the most upscale area of the Bronx, which includes Fieldston Road and Wave Hill.
@@joelweiner4798 Right! And they left it out.
Riverdale is more like Westchester. Lived there and now in Pelham Gardens. It’s where all the contractors live but near Westchester Avenue/Fordham. The 12 bus rocks! We eat at Mike’s about twice a month. The sandwiches are out of this world. And when you are a regular, in the stores on Arthur Avenue, they load you up.
That uptown Bronx which is way different from the lower Bronx which is about 80% Latino.
That Italian restaurant owner cool
As hell im definitely going to check that place out!
Becareful he's a wise guy, but a good guy love his food, i'll check him out one day.
I always felt safe in Da Bronx, felt like others had my back. I still remember how our neighbors looked after each other. There are bad places in most cities, just be aware of your surrounding
Very nice. Thanks for capturing the spirit of the Bronx I once knew!
Always a great watch my friend! keep being amazing and once again thank you for the great interview with us
Thanks my friend!

Not for nothing but that jamaican beef patty spot is the shit. Ya missing the cocoa bread tho

Awesome video. Born in Harlem raised in the Bronx. This video brought back some great memories. I have nothing but love my Borough.
Except for your choice in the title, I really loved this vlog. You showed all the places most people don't know about. I love Arthur Ave, I love Cannolis, you forgot to feature the many bakeries! Love this!
How you understand the reasoning for the title!.
@@TheTravelingClatt it's actually not the most DANGEROUS borough, infamous yes, but hardly dangerous. It really depends on which part, each borough has a dangerous part. honestly the biggest place I've known that has to do with Fordham Rd is Fordham Plaza. you can get some good street food, ton of places to get hats and other cool stuff. I've always loved living in the bronx and really sucks it had a terrible reputation because of the 70s and 80s.

#Mangupower
Mango is a traditional dish, original and typical of some Caribbean countries such as the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

U forgot the 70s
