Michael Jordan vs Dominique Wilkins - Revenge For The Blowout | The Unrelenting Defender

- Michael Jordan was the greatest scorer of all time in NBA basketball history. Also, Michael Jordan controlled the game & disrupted another team's offense, with his defense, like no other player before or after. This game right here is a great example of that. Michael had an unbelievable night with his scoring, and MJ hit some insane shots in this basketball game! Michael also disrupted over a dozen Atlanta Hawks plays with his disruptive high energy defense. The Atlanta Hawks had blown the Bulls out by 28 points in the last game, back in December. In that 28 point blowout loss, Jordan put up 41 points on 60% shooting, but his teammates absolutely no-showed. Many athletes in Jordan's position would have showed up expecting to lose, considering the previous blowout. Michael Jordan was all over the court on defense, and offensively, it was one highlight after the other. Sometimes you'll hear the claim "____ ____ can defend the 1-5." There have been a number of defenders with that type of versatility over the years, and they are special players. Michael Jordan didn't just "defend the 1-5", Michael Jordan terrorized the 1-5. And here's the true icing on the cake, Michael Jordan was playing with an injured shooting hand/thumb. Didn't matter, because Michael Jordan showed up with the same mindset that he always did... WIN!

Michael Jordan's intensity and focus on defense is out of this world.
He was practically omnipresent in this game.
And he led the team in attack.
So far there has never been anything like this guy.
Bruh I’m thinking the same thing dude is a monster on defense challenging every single person that takes a shot!!!! Wow!!!
you are right and there will never be anything like this guy
This is when the NBA was must see basketball games 🏀 And I still love watching these early games then today games!
the crowd was much louder than today because almost everybody didn't pay attention. chatting, texting, and calling with their gadgets cause missing action.
Plus is was Dom vs Jordan nobody wanted to miss a slam dunk
Chicago Stadium was like a cracker box compared to the immense United Center. That made a difference.
Maybe the crowd as LOUDER because the gameplay was better?
Older stadiums held more noise, it wasnt called the "Madhouse on Madison" for nothing. Today's crowd is more on their phones and not paying attention to the live games.
When basketball was basketball Michael Jordan g o a t
I was in Jr.High and the Star.Come home do home work and go to the Court and we play until Dark ,come home take shower eat watch college game of week ACC and Big East was the Monster Conference back in the Early and mid - eighties talk on phone with girls and girl friend. @@mauricehorton6041Nice story good job sir. I saw Micheal Jordan play in '88 in the Buzz Peterson Classic during summer @ the Asheville Civic Center in Asheville, NC.
You know you watching an old Jordan game when you hear “Jordan to Corzine”
15 steals in 2 games! Michael Jordan the GOAT.
MJ is just everywhere! Don’t know where he gets that energy but he is relentless and tireless! Scoring, stealing, rebounding, and blocking! If he doesn’t have to score most of the time and have teammates that can shoot, he can add in the assists too. No wonder he gets all these commercials because everyone just wants to be like Mike!
Love the Matches between Nique's Hawks n Jordan's Bulls back n da 80's n 90's
So Kobe can’t hold a candle to MJ. This guy was hitting fade away jumpers and clearly the best player in 86, 87…
Bird and Magic were a little better until this season 1986-87. Jordan would closed down on those two the next season.
see how good the players were back in the day, every possession was a do-or-die to the hoop!
ATHLETES WERE BETTER THEN,MORE INTENSE AND HUNGRIER COME FROM REAL HUMBLE HOMES ,NOT SAYING THEY DONT NOW ,BUT MORE BACK THEN TO MAKE BETTER LIFE FOR THEIR FAMILY NOW ! COACHES WERE BETTER TOO! OLD SCHOOL COACHES, ONLY A FEW STILL.LEFT NOW ,SOOOO SAD
2 GREAT NORTH CAROLINA BOYS BACK THEN ..MICHEAL ( AIR) JORDAN and DOMINIC ( HUMAN HIGH LIGHT FILM) LANEY HIGH.WILMINGTON ,N.C. JORDAN ...WASHINGTON ' PAM PACK' N.C.WiLKiNS🏀✌🏿😎
Jordan had so much energy 😊
Forgot how stacked that Hawks team was. Damn.
Totally agree
Based on modern pundits they were all plumbers. 😂😂😂😂
Mike had that lil diddy bop in his walk definitely walked like a ball player
The defense by 23 at 28:11 is elite to the highest level
5 WORDS-
BOTH ENDS OF THE FLOOR
Jordan was unbelievably great on both sides of the ball his whole career
Tell that to Le flops fan , go watch the last flop
@@jamoa3395😆 🤣 😂 i
Air Jordan VS the Human Highlight Film!👏👏
I love how one of the first plays of the game is a legit flagrant foul against MJ
Listen this is only1 game i know. But an obective person cannot watch this an then. And come away feeling like any of todays players could do anything with this guy. MJ was just a complete savage on both ends.
The sheer SPEED agility and adaptivity of Jordan is far beyond anything ever seen from any other player! 27:20 - Michael Jordan change of direction catch & drive weaving through traffic hangtime jumper off the glass
Love the announcers, Johnny Red Kerr, he was a Bull through and through and had a genuine enthusiasm for the game!
Man nearly takes Jordan’s eye, brush it off and keep going, the rules of the day.
Word
Nique and Mike have always loved to battle each other.

We will certainly be revisiting this rivalry, soon!
Thanks so much man! I love to see this rivalry! Jordan was so determined to win. I love seeing his younger days in the 80s. MJ is everywhere on D!
Do you have the previous game vs ALT, where MJ had 41 points? (In my opinion MJ prime was in the 87-89 seasons, when he SEEMS most determined and dominant on DEFENSE. Plus he had unlimited ENERGY and hops. But thats just my opinion.)
Johnny Red Kerr was so Cheesy back in the day! Blitz Sports Network, thank you for leaving that first part in. I was born in MS in 1979 if it wasn't for this video, I probably would have never seen this in my life. I became a Bulls fan in 1989 and the only time I got to see the game back then was in the Playoffs, mainly the Finals. With the advancement in satellites, I was able to watch the games on WGN. I could watch the Bull's regular season games from the Second 3 peat. Thank you
Jordan had about 6 blocks and 5 steals. He was terrorizing offenses.
bulls vz hawkx, evry nba seazon this waz tha best game, wheneva nique and mike play’d it definitely waz tha best damn version of sum real showtime
doc river was better than austin!
Absolutely not even close
notice the wave game...
Ahhhh Yes 💯 Old School B-Ball 86-'87 Season, I was staying with my Mom off & on in Chicago while Attending UCLA & I remember Jim & Red Calling the games on Sportsvision, then Later was Wayne Larabie was calling the games with Red & over on CLTV Tom Dore was calling with Red. Itvwas so Awwwwseme seeing M.J. on a Regular Basis & Yes it was way different in the crowd talking & texting, rather than just concentrating on the game. Oh & back when there was only 2 Refreees working the Games🏀🏀👏👏
1:21 nice edit 😂
That Black Cat Again.
Everyone is here for revenge.
No braids, no crazy unkept hair, no stretch leg tights, no rainbow color shoes, no extra attention like today but just regular uniforms and sweat bands and bunch of men being normal playing the game
no tattoos
10:14 😮 (ja watch this )
If u wanna know what year these Bullls games are on utube all u gotta do is look @ Jordans shoes
2:03 best singing of We Been Jammin' ever
idk but if you ask me who's the best between Jordan and Bryant,i would go to Jordan......both are good if not better in offense but MJ's has good defensive skills than Kobe.
Facts
😂It's not even close.
This version of #23 Michael Air Jordan would average 50+ points in today's NBA
Did Threatt just casually kick Koncak😂 @18:23? Then the laugh from the bench @18:33 🤣🤣.
Like an announcer once said... "if there wasn't a concussion, then it wasn't a foul!" This is DEFINITELY NOT today's NBA.😂
Now I can't unsee this🤣🤣🤣
6 blocks...7 steals...mj played defense like his life depended on it...
It's crazy how young folks couldn't phantom Jordan playing in the league WITHOUT his own shoe. This was when you had to earn all your sh@t and not just have it given to you from assumptions like today's players.
23:03...crazy ups
I counted 5 steals at half time ..for mj alone
year? tss
Geez Mike is everywhere on D.
