I have both as well. The ID-52 has the best way to store frequencies and repeaters organized into folders called groups, with the ability to scan a specific group. I love and use this feature. The D75 does not seem to allow scanning of a specific group. Instead, it scans all memory groups (at least I have not found a way to scan a group with the D75) The D75's gps options are really great, shows distance to repeaters, and easy to mark positions. Two things I noticed. Please keep these videos coming!
@HamTechRadioScannerDrones you are a genius! I appreciate your other video on connecting RD-MS1A with the D75, I would not have found the option for the "Transceiver Model" within the "Application Settings" without you.
Don't get me wrong I am a hardcore icom fan. Back when I owned an airplane that was the full stack was ICOM. And I've owned the ID-51 and the ID-52A. That being said, I just got a hold of a THD 75 and was blown away. The radio is outstanding in every capacity. A review video is not even necessary. Just everything is stellar on that radio. Gig aparts had them on sale for $699 and I'd snagged one and I'm so happy I did.
Hi andreas. As a scanner, are either of these as good as a uniden scanner? Mainly for airband and marine, im looking at sensitivity and speed of scanning. Thanks.
So my question to you would be how do you change to DR mode like you can on the 52? Remember on the 52 you have the two at the top and the from on the bottom and you can click into both of those areas and change both of those areas the two areas shows all of your reflectors if you’re using the your call sign configuration. You can go from reflector to reflect her to reflector. The from you can change from hotspot to hotspot or to local analog or digital repeaters. Can you do that on the 75? There’s another great video. 73 De Ka9zrz
One sad note, Kenwood have an old Bluetooth implementation so no Bluetooth le and Comms only using the old serial profile not using PAN which means you cannot get software on iPhone only android and pc

If you could only have one of these radios which one would it be and why?
D75 has HF proper aprs and better bluetooth the 52 has nice big screen.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones thank you for the reply. Glad I found your channel.
Does the kenwood even have a band scope @ £789 ? Screen looks smaller and cheaper than the Icom.
No band scope but it has full HF
