Nicest thing about this car? I can haul ass and consistently get 50+ mpg. The car isn’t fast, but will surprise a good amount of other cars with its hybrid boost. Goes an extra 10+ mph for zippy passing. Feels lightweight, but secure on the road. Decent and fun handling and guilt free driving makes this car one of my favorite out of 10+ vehicles I’ve owned in 20 years. Superb car. Love it love it.

I get around 55-57 mpg. I drive 160 miles a day. About 98% highway. 62mph is the sweet spot on Cruise control. The engine turns off and uses the hybrid mode when it’s level ground or down hill. When not using cruise control you can use the electric motor alone with the engine off, up to 70 mph BUT you have to be progressive with the gas pedal. Dude how is your gas sub $1 per litre?? In NZ it's around the $2.40c a litre and the NZD is very close to the CAD. Man we get ripped off here for gas :(
In late 2020, US gas prices plummeted due to the lack of traveling people were doing. So they had plenty of fuel just sitting there not being sold and they dropped prices to try enticing what few people were traveling to get their gas over someone else's. Sadly, now that many people are back to traveling in 2021, those oil companies are price gouging again with gas prices averaging over $3.50/gal in most places. This isn't due to a shortage, just to greed from the companies trying to make up for the lack of sales in 2020.
I have driven my new 2022 Corolla Hybrid about 250 miles since i got it about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I am averaging 57.6 mpg. Love the fuel economy. As for the ride, I have the standard cloth seats which are more comfortable than my previous Honda Civic's. It drives well, the steering seems easier to me if that makes. Is there road noise, yes and know, its about average for a vehicle in this price class, of course a Lexus will have less. Handles bumps just fine. Overall I am happy with mu purchase so far.
Right now in California, the fuel prices where I live are around $3.32 a gallon. Filling this car up if it’s on E will probably cost around $24-26 USD.
Meanwhile in Europe, petrol costs twice what canadians pay. On a good day. It's at almost 2 euros / litre right now, basically, you could fill tank with wine in France and it'll be cheaper. Well, ok, it's 'only' 1.6 Euros / litre, but you get why EVs and hybrids are popular.
How are you getting these metric conversion rates don't they change based on different factors I would make the trip into Detroit then to fill up every day if you were close enough
What are you talking about? It’s just unit conversions. If you’re talking about fuel price, we’ll he is Canadian so he’s using the price at the time of the video. Today this car would cost $50 to fill
That's 9 months ago. Now gas is expensive for a half a tank everywhere. And where I live it's like 3.30 a gallon almost. What about the 2021 Toyota Corolla hybrid LE. Can you do a test run on that one for gas in the US on a half tank for gas so we can see. My husband thinks we can go the full 6 hundred and something miles it wont cost very much to fill up.
Kinda want one, kinda not. Love my Lexus IS with my v6 but boy compared to this car it’s a pig on gas. Costs me 13 cents a km. $80 a tank and I get just shy of 600km out of it on average. Premium fuel. Different caliber of car kind you, but I wish they brought the IS hybrid to Canada like the EU
Would love to see higher hiway speeds, 100-120km/h is pretty low as highway goes. Id like to see around 130-140 where the électric engine does not help and the car only runs on the ICE.

I am impressed. Wow. Prius economy without weird Prius looks
True, I own a Prius and I am not as fan of the Prius’ design. I prefer the look of the Corolla and Camry
Only if Toyota offered the Corolla or Camry in a Prime variant I'd be all over one.
Prius is weird because it’s all about aerodynamics
I actually don’t mind how the newest Prius looks. I saw one in person and I doubled back to look at it and was surprised and I saw it was a Prius
The new gen Prius doesn’t even look weird

Can anyone confirm these numbers in the real world. Can you really get 1000 kms for a single tank of gas? That's incredible.
