I love how this is taken so much more seriously in the UK than in the US. Obviously, the UK suffered much more. In the US, Veteran's Day has become essentially a day off work--there are a few ceremonies at military locations but that's it. Memorial day is essentially the unofficial start of summer--day off, a few scattered remembrances at cemeteries. When we were in the UK, my daughter was politely and kindly given advance warning while at school that when the time came, EVERYTHING would stop while the moment of silence was observed--traffic stopped, even the trains stopped running. I was out later that day and a man on the street stopped me, concerned that I wasn't wearing a poppy and gave me one of his. He wouldn't let me pay him. He was just very insistent that I HAD TO wear a poppy. It was meaningful to see the entire population honor the heros.
Yes everything stops because everyone wants to pay their respects to those who fought and those who never came home, we never forget the sacrifice they made, God bless them, the poppy is a sign of respect we carry on and the money made is for the veterans, we wear them with pride, thank you for sharing your story
THANKYOU for your kind words and understanding of our ceremony of remembrance. For one day a year we honour those that sacrificed their lives, the ultimate price, so that we can live freely. (although we don't know for how much longer) We will never forget them. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
It depends. Most people in the UK honour the silence, but many more just carry on talking or using their phones through it. A lot of what happens in the UK now is show with no substance, almost that BEING SEEN doing the accepted thing is more important than caring about that thing. I worked for a company in London (an ad agency) that would buy a box of poppies every November and tell all of the staff they MUST wear one. Not because they were sincere about it's meaning, but because of their corporate image.

We have our own ceremonies, but of course they don't look like this because we're not British and don't put on displays as if we have a monarchy. It has no place here. Half those people standing there holding swords and the like have never even served a day in their lives.
Que bonito, me agrada el homenaje al recuerdo de quienes se lo merecen aunque ya no esten. Y que energias las del Rey Carlos, a pesar de su situacion de salud.
God bless all whom are in service to keep freedom alive. Many gave their lives... God bless the royal family. All families having those serving & departed.❤
GOD BLESS! Your king has the honor to remember and praise those that have died in conflicts (dating back to WWI). Unfortunately, our "president" has absolutely no loyalty to anyone that has died fighting for our country (USA) as he has shown himself a traitor to all who have died for us... God bless you all!
The British establishment doesn't care about our veterans either, they just show up once a year to lay a wreath and say a few insincere words written by someone else. That's why our veterans rely on charity and public donations.
I know King Charles wanted to be there and I understand but at times he was struggling he looks ill as we know but bless his heart for doing what he believes is job no matter what. LONG LIVE KING CH ARL ES
The men who are being remembered fought in his grandfather's name, and the men and women who fight now, fight in his. He must be there so long as he can be as the Sovereign, the King, and the Commander-in-Chief and even as someone who has done military service himself.
If that were the deciding rule then none of our mainstream political parties would be there, as they're all a disgrace to this country and it's people.

All the congratulations MAJESTY KING CHARLES III ❤️ London ❤️, huge support, lovely family Royale, god Bless 🙏 AMEN

🙏
. . . E 11 R . SO RESOLUTE WAS HIS TRUST THAT HE PLACE HIS CONFIDENCE IN THE POWER TO PERFORM IT UPON HIS ARRIVAL .
Beautiful 🌞🇺🇸🌞🇺🇸
Just such a beautiful tradition and ceremony as only the British can do. I wish the US had this!
We have our own ceremonies, but of course they don't look like this because we're not British and don't put on displays as if we have a monarchy. It has no place here. Half those people standing there holding swords and the like have never even served a day in their lives.
King Charles god save the king ❤❤❤❤
Lovely . I admire the pomp and circumstance. King Charles looks fabulous. ❤l

Que bonito, me agrada el homenaje al recuerdo de quienes se lo merecen aunque ya no esten. Y que energias las del Rey Carlos, a pesar de su situacion de salud.
Lest we Forget. ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️Long Live the King! ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧. 👑
God bless you all family ❤
God Save our King and lest we forget. I love the Christmas music at the end of the video. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
The half Seppo is trying to show his lack of education. That did not start out as Christmas music that is a hymnal.
God save our king
God bless all whom are in service to keep freedom alive. Many gave their lives... God bless the royal family. All families having those serving & departed.❤
GOD BLESS! Your king has the honor to remember and praise those that have died in conflicts (dating back to WWI). Unfortunately, our "president" has absolutely no loyalty to anyone that has died fighting for our country (USA) as he has shown himself a traitor to all who have died for us... God bless you all!
And God bless you,and don't give up the fight, ever!
The British establishment doesn't care about our veterans either, they just show up once a year to lay a wreath and say a few insincere words written by someone else. That's why our veterans rely on charity and public donations.
How disrespectful to have adverts in this viseo
Yes totally agreed with thar it's very. Disrespectful
Adverts are not in the video I have just watched - they must have been put in by whoever shared it.
Que emoción mirar q Kate est mejor de salud ella y principe Williams son el pilar y apoyo de el rey Carlos y la reina Camila
Catherine
Very nicely done.
Brilliant. In memory of my Uncle Dennis, 22 years old, killed in battle in North Africa in WW2.
👍🇬🇧🤝🙏
What a great ceremony. I am American. We buried my father 48 years ago on Veterans day. He was in the Air Force and spent 2 years at RAF Lakenheath.
I know King Charles wanted to be there and I understand but at times he was struggling he looks ill as we know but bless his heart for doing what he believes is job no matter what. LONG LIVE KING CH ARL ES
He is still unwell.
He still does his royal duties, cancer or no cancer. Just like his late mother the Queen.
The men who are being remembered fought in his grandfather's name, and the men and women who fight now, fight in his. He must be there so long as he can be as the Sovereign, the King, and the Commander-in-Chief and even as someone who has done military service himself.
Starmer shouldn’t be there. He is a traitor. Our fallen deserve more respect.
Well said 👏
He probably didn't want to be there but felt he had better make an effort.
Why is he a traitor?
If that were the deciding rule then none of our mainstream political parties would be there, as they're all a disgrace to this country and it's people.
