He learnt the futility of war at a very young age. The war was fought to protect the British Empire’s delusions of grandeur and desire to dominate Europe, Russia and the Middle East. They are still going on with the same destructive cause today! It’s unbelievable. Stop waging war and let people live without constant interference! Stop trying to impose your view of the world and your political system on others! It just kills peoples and destroys countries and their wealth.

God Bless your Uncle. I spent 16 years working in Veterans’ Long Term Care. The Greatest Generation.❤️
Today is Veterans’ Day in the USA, and Remembrance Day in Canada and the UK. At 11-11-11 General John Pershing, Woodrow Wilson and the 116,000 American troops who died fighting fascism in WWI, will officially spin in their graves. The democracy they fought for has been handed to a dictatorial mad man, and his evil sycophants, who in turn will hand an independent Nation State, Ukraine, over to another mad man, Putin.
“Take up our quarrel with the foe. To you, from failing hands we throw the torch - be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep - though poppies grow in Flander’s fields.”
~ In Flanders’ Fields, by Canadian physician, Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, May 3, 1915.

Who are you talking about... The Royal family were very involved with the war movement during the war years and ever since.. how dare you insinuate anything else.
As for Starmer.. he should not be there at all.

I spend this week-end every year ,crying my eyes out, for the people who served in the War and for the young people with so much hope for the future and for my Countrymen who show such respect to the people who lost their life and the nations who were there to help, when it was so badly needed. I am 90 years of age and a wartime child.

I am the same. It's the Chelsea Pensioners who affect me the most. I am 87 and like you a wartime child. I was in the East End of London for the duration. To this day my blood runs cold if I hear the sound of an air raid siren in an old film🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

Well done , back on the more traditional lines to honour those who serve , have served and those who gave their all never to return to their loved ones all to protect our Country from those who would do us ill , it would be a great folly to forget and betray the legacy of these people WE must never let that happen . Last night was a magnificent display of gratitude by the British people something as a country and population we excel at .
