I think there’s a difference between sense of humor and somebody who is a comedian telling jokes. Being able to find humor in a tense situation or when something goes wrong or when plans get messed up is definitely a plus, that exhausting comedian trying to dominate the conversation is tiring. A funny, witty, witty lighthearted comeback is welcome on a date.
Exactly. Wit is welcome at any time in my book. And the odd thing is that when somebody makes me laugh with a clever witty comment, my first inclination is to say “I love you!“. Lol.
1 integrity. 2 Spiritual beliefs/ being a Christian. 3 Being on a somewhat social/ economic level. Or at least the same motivations/ goals. This is all great thought provoking stuff. At 65. My hopes are different from at ages of my youth. Thank you.
Humor should end up making the other person feel more comfortable and willing to communicate. Laughing can really improve time together- at least in my opinion. My top 3 - Kindness - intelligence - transparency Nice video 😊
Laughing improves everything! Including life expectancy! I’m convinced it’s going to take my hyena of a mother to 100! 🤎 Transparency! Hmmmm… interesting.
Not in any sort of order, but intelligence (not always about academic education), compassion, unpretentiousness (and side note, yes on the humor, honesty, passion about life or something they're involved with like the arts).
@@CoffeewithCareyYep indeed. Was married for 14 yrs to a most pretentious yet self-conscious man who thought he was God's gift to the world and to women.
1. Good leadership 2. Happy in his own skin 3. Accepting (of both himself and others) A gsoh is nice but many other things feel more important to me. Gsoh is icing on the cake, like being reasonably handsome - nice to have but not really important. 😊
@@CoffeewithCarey A man who can inspire others to follow. I don't mean in a cult like way. But if he is coaching lads in football, there is something about him that inspires them to listen, to work hard. Same thing at work. Same thing in a relationship. I need to respect a man's view of the world. I'll run things if necessary but what I really want is for him to run things and to do it well. I'm probably a little 1950's in my view! 😊
Thanks for posing this question Carey. I tune in and out of other channels, but never miss an episode of yours. Well, maybe one on applying makeup 😄 As is often repeated on the only men's channel on dating that I subcribe to: Fit, Feminine and Friendly. This is what most men want. Not sarcastic or sassy. And absolutely not masculine. I do not want to date myself 😉
Thank you kindly and I appreciate you keeping up on my new episodes. And yes, I agree with your second paragraph wholeheartedly. That’s what I hear often from my male clients.
@@CoffeewithCarey that's very true! Maybe for a next video you could guide us on how to be more femenine, not for the clothes we wear or the makeup we have on, but on our personality, behaviours. Always looking forward for watching your videos. Well, it also could be a nice refresher if you talk about femenine clothes lol
@@marciabejarano3856 thanks for having checked out some of my fashion or beauty videos hidden in my history. ☺️ I can assure you that I am not the person you would ever want posting about a feminine personality or behavior. That is not in my wheelhouse. I’m sure there are other people on the Internet if that’s something you are looking to focus on. I’m sure that if one is just being themselves, there’s no reason to change any aspect of your behavior or personality, for the sake of finding a partner! Just because that is something that some men will say, does not mean we have to be anything other than our authentic selves!
At 71 I am a guy who would like a woman who is a Christian, or at least someone who is honest. Some one who is NOT volatile or always complaining. Some one who is not high maintenance. Someone willing to compromise, and share some of my activities.
Fantastic that you know what you are looking for and hopefully you’ve built in some flexibility, so that you will find somebody to share life with. Assuming that’s what you want.

Integrity #1, interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Communication, kindness and definitely a sense of humour
All three are difficult to teach, so they need to be there!
Humor should end up making the other person feel more comfortable and willing to communicate. Laughing can really improve time together- at least in my opinion.

Smiles and hugs are free!
aesthetic, life energy, trustable
Aesthetic?
@@CoffeewithCarey yes
Kindness, Manners, Ability to communicate
