Billy West is gold. The guy interviewing him has the charisma of a dead kitten. I’d have been laughing uncontrollably, this guy just sits there emotionless barely saying a peep…ay dios mio
I'm sure many are comparing this to the howard stern show and after seeing it, I really have to take west's side. he never claimed to be the creator, he simply told how he did the voices and yes, he didn't originate the voice of ren but he didn't say anything that implied he did, he just further spoked about how the voice is done. Some say he should've at least said how john k came up with the concept, but lets be honest, if we were in his shoes and asked how we did the voices, john k wouldn't come to our mind and the only reason you are all bringing it up in the first place is because john k got butt-hurt after west returned when he got fired and viewed this in that way. I'm sure even if west did tell about john first doing the voice he would have felt, "yeah, and now you're getting interviewed and I'm no one"
Yeah. He's not taking credit for the voice of Ren. He's merely analyzing it. Because Billy West isn't the man with the humongous mancrush on Kirk Douglas.
I agree in this video; however, in an interview with Jay Leno, Jay says “how did you come up with the characters voices?” And billy answers the same way without correcting him
He's not taking credit for creating the voice, he's merely analyzing it. Because in case you didn't know, Billy West isn't the one with the humongous mancrush on Kirk Douglas. Also, you know how West said that Ren, being a Chihuahua, has an obligatory South-of-the-Border accent? Kricfalusi said how people think there's Mexican, but it's not supposed to be. And with snippets like this, ruclips.net/video/lk6IIEfKngA/видео.html, it's not hard to believe.
While John did create the show, Billy was the original voice for Ren in the beginning when both he and John started together. After the first audition, John decided he would voice Ren and Billy would do Stimpy.
Oh, I'm sure he's well-aware of his crimes. So much so that as early as 2012, John has been sort of an off-limits topic for him, even if his fellow VA's were to bring it up.
Damn though. Watching his interview here after watching the Howard Stern interview he did with John K, You can tell that the way Billy West phrases everything about Ren's voice is practically in 3rd person, never saying he created the voice, yet not denying it either. I love Billy West, but he should've at least mentioned the fact that John K did indeed create the voice for Ren (at at least, the concept)
John K did it to himself. Billy West had a choice between leaving with John, or doing both characters. Billy didn't tell John K to commit career suicide.
He lives inside these characters. It’s so inspiring
This guy is so talented. I find myself watching these videos over and over again.
He is the voice of my youth.
I love watching him do the voices
Me too! He's also one of my idols!
The legend! He’s on cameo, did a Back to school video for my kids as Fry.
Even his impromptu Robin laugh was on point.
The room did him cold leavin him hanging on that last joke 😅
3:00 Howard Stern in a nutshell, love the show, but that's basically what he does.
Billy West could actually play Larry today in a parody if he was able too
I wish Billy would make a return to the Stern show. Man, he was great on it back in the day.
yeah without him I feel like that show sucks
I have the Stimpy stuffed animal Billy was holding
Like the actual one in his hands? Did he visit you in the hospital or something?
Me too
I'm so pissed RUclips just deleted the funniest BW doing Cardinal O'Connor on Howard Stern before I could make a copy of it.
Looks like the interviewer here is Carlos Amezcua, co-anchor on KTLA Morning News. Interesting to look back into history just for fun..
Incredible.

So roger klotz was the honeynut cheerios be at one point😂
Thanks for posting
WHERE'S THE REST, Man? Billy West is the Best-est.
My sister used to have those dolls!
Brings back good memories.
I'm surprised they didn't edit out his jokes for TV. Holy cow!

@@jackeggleson4102 that's a fair point, however, I would have to see the interview to judge fairly
Most likely this is 1995 while the OJ trial was going on. Also the final year for Ren and Stimpy.
@@CallumDavage1 Naw, the OJ trial was 94'-95'. Can't be a football reference cause he was long retired.
@@CallumDavage1 The clip is from a '94 marked episode, so make of that what you will.
LOVE Ren!!
Same Ren is my favorite character
i need that shirt
And that hat lol

Great Larry impersonation. Wish it were longer.
Talent. 🏆
I swear he is the Mel Blanc of this time period.
HONEY NUT BEE voiced by BILLY WEST-new facT! I am allergic to HONEY NUTS. Pull string toys are too old. WHY CAN't WE HAVE BATTERIES IN the 90s?
Rens like and Alcoholic dad.... PERFECT discription
God that Ren toy is so nightmarish
I wish he would have credited John K. as the original voice for Ren (as well as creator). Love Billy though
They hadn't a good relationship while working together, so you can't blame him for that.
While John did create the show, Billy was the original voice for Ren in the beginning when both he and John started together. After the first audition, John decided he would voice Ren and Billy would do Stimpy.
He’s flexing that drip with the ren and stimpy merch
wow. These must have been Billy's hard partying days. He looks wrecked ..in fact, he looks a little like Benjy does from the Stern show :)
Marge Schott was the best!
Billy West’s Howard imitation sounds like a pervy Alan Alda...
Today I realized that this is the guy that voices Fry😌😆🙌🏾💪🏾
He is one of the funniest guys ever !
Who is the Asser interviewing him?
He looks older here than in the present day.
Boy oh boy the crowd was painful. Was there even one?
2:48 - your just here to trick me?!!!
He looks like Mac Demaro
Epic.....
He should've done Marge Schott instead of that stupid bee.
cool hat
3:17 nice Leno lol
i like the Jay
John k invented it
2:03 to 2:10 🤣🤣🤣
He's great' but I think I slightly prefer john k's ren voice.
0:33
he really had a shit stern impression lol
I can kinda hear it
I like Billy West and John K disgusts me, but he should have at least given John some verbal lip service.
Oh, I'm sure he's well-aware of his crimes. So much so that as early as 2012, John has been sort of an off-limits topic for him, even if his fellow VA's were to bring it up.
I believe he sold out
lets not forget John K..... billy, i love your voice acting but you should've mentioned John K.
Why would he do that while still doing the show for Nickelodeon, who fired John?
He wasn't the Creator or Original Ren and Stimpy just to make that clear..
Damn though. Watching his interview here after watching the Howard Stern interview he did with John K, You can tell that the way Billy West phrases everything about Ren's voice is practically in 3rd person, never saying he created the voice, yet not denying it either. john k created the whole damn show and this guy pretty much takes all the credit...backstabbing judas
John started the whole damn problem. No one wants to mention his name.
John K did it to himself. Billy West had a choice between leaving with John, or doing both characters. Billy didn't tell John K to commit career suicide.
John K was fired because he is a sexual deviant. They paid hush money to the victim & fired that sick bastard.
