John DiMaggio, who plays Bender on Futurama alongside Billy West, has said that West has the ability to act against himself in the same scene... Normally if an actor plays multiple characters, they make them do one first with the director reading for another and then they play it back so they can act the other character. It's not that they are not good, but acting against yourself sometimes causes overlap. DiMaggio says that West can do it for 3 pages straight and even interrupt himself. Crazy
Billy West is one of a dying breed. It's great to see old school voice acting still surviving in America. Nowadays classic voice actors are replaced far too often with Hollywood actors in an effort by major studios to rake in audiences. This guy is talent at its best.
I got to meet Billy West at a convention last month. He was the nicest guy ever. He even posed for a picture with me, and told me to tell everyone that we were an item. So, hey, you guys. Billy West and I are an item now.
The only thing they ever laugh at is themselves, whenever they do some stupid shit that litterally no one in the world find funny as they say with their nasally dumb voices "OMG Emily you're such a crack head".
The great Billy West!! I'm sad that he doesn't talk about the years he was on the Howard Stern Show. Those were the best years of Howard. Billy just skips over it. He did tremendous, amazing work on that show. Something "bad" must have happened between them. I know Howard didn't show Billy much respect back then because Billy wasn't a recognized big name yet. I'm glad Billy went on to tremendous recognition. He deserves it.
Everybody had a pay dispute with Stern. Stern was a cheap.....”individual”. He was surrounded by really funny, talented people. As well as Quivers. Billy and Jackie Martling made that show during the heyday.
Yeah, it's really a bummer when celebrities feel burdened or pigeon-holed by their popularity. It depresses fans who want to express their gratitude for bringing them joy. The fact that Billy West really seems to enjoy not only making his fans happy but recreating those elements of entertainment we all love is a refreshing change of pace. I wish more people in the industry were as cool as Billy West.
I was watching Doug last night and of course he's Doug and Roger, but I didn't realize that he voiced all of the additional adult voices in his normal voice... Like Skeeter's dad, the coach, etc... Crazy
@83phatman I never got that impression. The first time I seen Futurama was actually the premier in March of '99 and loved it ever since. Too bad the new episodes are restricted to the US or people with high speed internet. DVDs better come to Canada :)
They have very specific lines and voices they're allowed to use for public appearances/interviews It's a copyright thing, I think. As far as the anecdotes go, it's probably just easier to reuse the same one.
It's so awesome his actual voice sounds like an older smarter Fry.
lars fillmore ;)
I know!
He made it to where the voice of Fry was his actual speaking voice from when he was 25 that way no one would replace him.
Well rather Fry was meant to be his younger, dumber self.

dying breed? no, not at all. he's a pioneer of the new string of entertainers.
@@NeonDruid13 lol I made this comment 12 years ago bro
@@cathconnelly yeah, i noticed that after i said it... oh well i guess. we all make fools of ourselves sometimes, eh?
@Staghorn The Druid no worries man 😂
Its a shame because voice actors should be in the advertising and not just when they're Hollywood stars pulled from film acting.
6:20 Fry, 6:56: Farnsworth, 7:50 Zoidberg, 8:14 Brannigan
THANK YOU!!!
Absolute legend
Billy youre the GOAT!!! Thank U!!!!
This guy was my childhood
I absolutely ADORE Futurama. The cleverest entertainment around. You can't possibly get all the levels of humor just watching it once.
I got to meet Billy West at a convention last month. He was the nicest guy ever. He even posed for a picture with me, and told me to tell everyone that we were an item.
So, hey, you guys. Billy West and I are an item now.
I was so happy the guy brought up Shaggy. It’s nice to hear Billy do it again since Zombie Island (which came out in 1998)
I love how he looks so classy and somewhat like he would have a deeper voice and when he speaks he still sounds like he's in his young 20's
i love the way the anchor says "Zapp-uh-hyuk"
The true man of a thousand voices!
Sorry. Mel Blanc stills receive that honor.
Devin Studios True!
He did Doug and Roger?!
I now have a new favorite person.
oh man that Bill O'Reilly joke was gold!!!
I hate the fake laughter of the woman, but the guys are genuinely enjoying Billy West.
chuggachuggawoowoo Women don’t get good comedy. I guess they make themselves laugh n
The only thing they ever laugh at is themselves, whenever they do some stupid shit that litterally no one in the world find funny as they say with their nasally dumb voices "OMG Emily you're such a crack head".
I wasn't paying attention to it until I read your comment lol and as a gal I agree with you. Billy West is awesome it's sad she was faking it.

Howard got billy with John k as a surprise guest. The interview itself was incredibly uncomfortable.
Howard used to talk to Billy like he was some talentless jagoff. Infuriated me.
Billy has a pay dispute with management and felt like he wasn’t given the rate and respect that he felt that he deserved and left the show.
Everybody had a pay dispute with Stern. Stern was a cheap.....”individual”. He was surrounded by really funny, talented people. As well as Quivers. Billy and Jackie Martling made that show during the heyday.
I agree. Billy West deserves better.

I love Billy West so very much.
I haven't watched this clip in probably 2 years, but it's so awesome. Billy West is such an amazing talent!!!
Damn this guy is a legend
my favorite voice actor
Wow... I'm recently watching Futurama so I was curious to see who voiced Fry and I am amazed at how many different voices he does in the show!
Have you watched the whole series yet?
+Afonso Lucas Yes. Loved it!
Mayleen V Alright Alright Alright! :)
If voice acting or media studies interest you at all, do yourself a favor and watch the dvd commentaries.
@@mayleenv Right, There's more now.
It's awesome that he seems to have a ton of fun doing the voices. Some people really hate being asked to do it, but he has a blast with it. So cool.
"It's funny because it's sad." Best description of Robin Williams stand up routine ever! LMAO!
He's just 100% the center of attention on the show and no one else can do anything but laugh.
He holds an amazing gift!
DUDE!!!!!! whenever i hear his voices on futurama IM GONNA FREAK OUT!! HES AMAZING!! I thought he only did Fry~!! AHHHH!!
he's got the craziest energy, so infectious
You are amazing Mr. West!
I enjoy watching their energy as Billy plays them all like fiddles.
What does that even mean?
One day I hope to be even HALF the voice actor Billy West is!
This was awesome. I needed this
Red Eye's best interview yet!
Billy is awesome. What an incredible talent!!
I was watching Doug last night and of course he's Doug and Roger, but I didn't realize that he voiced all of the additional adult voices in his normal voice... Like Skeeter's dad, the coach, etc... Crazy
I love his voice, I could listen to it all day :)
his best role was still the Jackie Puppet
My favorite roles of his are: Ren, Stimpy, Doug, Fry, Farnsworth, Roger klotz and the red M&M
What about Roger Klotz
@@ivanhernandez9579 I edited my comment
@@JaegarLourdesHeathman oh okay
Larry Fine at Woodstock from Howard Stern still cracks me up
How could anyone dislike this...this guy is a genius...
I agree. Billy seems to love doing the voices and meeting with fans.
man he sounds just like fry in normal voice
He's awesome. Thank you!!
This clip made my day, I wish Redeye would have Billy West back on there (or maybe he was on there in recent memory and I missed him).
Love Billy West👾!
this is one of my favorite voice actors :D
So great. ☝
Billy is awesome!
Look up his voices on the "Big Mattress" AM FM radio show on WBCN in the 70's
That knock knock joke was amazing
I just love his farnsworth. I hope he gets to do it for the next 5-10 years!
He also did Rancid Rabbit on CatDog and Principal Razinski on Teenage Robot. It's funny he was about to mention that he took over Ren but was cut off
omg i just favorited this without realizing
I'll get to meet Billy West at Comic Con in Anehiem today.
Thank you!
So awesome!
He was part of the Howard Stern Show back in the 90s. His Marge Schott Impression is hilarious
As someone who's listened extensively to the commentaries, the funniest voice West does is David X. Cohen. Painfully accurate.
Wow so so good!
The breakdown of the Popeye voice is so good
He has to be the best person ever
wholly cow the Bill O'Reilly joke at the end was priceless. So true.
@83phatman I never got that impression. The first time I seen Futurama was actually the premier in March of '99 and loved it ever since. Too bad the new episodes are restricted to the US or people with high speed internet. DVDs better come to Canada :)
I am glad someone on the spectrum like him succeeded!
He even said he stared in awe when Billy did the scene when Hubert, Fry, and Zoidberg all had a conversation together.
MY SCIENCE TEACHER LOOKS AND SOUNDS JUST LIKE HIM OMFG
Rob Paulsen is also spectacular, its hard to select just one. >
That Bill O'Reily impersonation really hit my funny chord :D
Billy West, a god among men.
Billy West is beyond awesome!!! :-D
THANK YOU!!!
I love Billy West
His speaking voice is basically Lars Filmore
The lovely Jill Dobson, former Miss Michigan in the 2000 Miss USA pageant. :-)
This man voiced my childhood
Haha! Billy West is the man! He's also the red M&M in the commercials.
Oh, so it's thaat kind of party!
One of my favorite Billy West voices is in Ren n Stimpy when they see something and shriek in excitement
Marge schott, the Jackie puppet, Raymond Burr, and cardinal O'Connor
oh wait...he says that in this interview! haha, I hadn't gotten to that part yet.
Billy West is a Legend
He is one of the most talented voice actors I've ever seen.
Billy West needs to appear on more talk shows more often, like The Ellen Show. Just a suggestion
The host seems like he's about to pass out from laughing so much! He loves it!.
This guy is so talented.
His bark is funny as hell
Unfortunately, I haven't seen Billy West on Red Eye since then. But I also wish they would have him on again sometime!!
Man that was awesome seeing him doing Brannigan
Billy West Is Awesome
He has an awesome interview with John DiMaggio on Kevin Pollack's show, great stories.
Billy actually sounds like Phillip J. Fry
hearing his speak about fry and his own voice🎉
It just occurred to me, Fry's voice kinda sounds like Marty McFly.
God I love futurama and billy west is the man!!!
His normal voice sounds more like Fry lol
I love his voices! Just epic!
The golden years of Howard Stern 1990-2000.
His Carson and m McMahon are amazing
In a lot of voice actors I notice they have 2 or 3 voices or anecdotes by memory to tel people
They have very specific lines and voices they're allowed to use for public appearances/interviews
It's a copyright thing, I think.
As far as the anecdotes go, it's probably just easier to reuse the same one.
A lot of them have specific lines they go when they're recalling the character's voice and personality. It helps them to get there quicker.
It's weird seeing Billy West with Greg Gutfeld on Fox News in 2022.
So funny my eyes watered!
this guy probably has perfect pitch. It would explain how good he is at impersonations.
Billy doing BOR is freaking hilarious.
Is 6.45 his DXC?
the joke at the end omfg perfect
