Well Dan all I'll say is I'm 68 and camping next weekend. None of us knows the future health wise but I use a gym eat reasonably well ( still love my curries and a beer) and have a young outlook on life. Great post mate . Happy camping and many more years of it .
Dan mate, we all make mistakes, it happens. And anyone who says they don’t, lies. No one is perfect, absolutely no one..! And I’m further than most from it. Another great vid, keep ‘em coming. I always look forward to your vids. 👍👍
That reservoir reminds me of a school day out on the north York moors in March and it was freezing, our school teacher stripped off dived in and swam all the way round the reservoir, the moment he dived in he earned all our respect and we gave him no more chew from then on.
Thanks for sharing your outing with us. Your vid’s are always a joy to watch - whether your hiking 8 miles over the English hills or just camping in your yard. Cheers!
Morning Dan….. your beach is at an elevation of 237 metres…… in Scotland we have Loch Morlich (near Aviemore ) at 300 metres, that must be Britain’s highest beach. Good review of the walk and tent 👍🏻🥾🏴🥃🏴
Great video Dan, great to see you out with your lad, nothing wrong using the same sleep system, I have the same air matt (thanks to you) and I love it. Stay safe mate. Hopefully Scott got his shed sorted. 😄
Hi. I actually went up on Saturday evening. Too much happening with the kids on Fridays. You'll have to introduce yourself at the next cricket training.

Saw the part with the "chocolate raisins and snickers bar" while eating some mushrooms. Spit the mushrooms halfway across the kitchen because I bursted out laughing 😂
Great video Dan. Brilliant views and a very appealing walk. Never mind what anyone says about how you boil your water etc..... Give yourself some slack. You were tired, needing food and drink. It is easy to look back after - or sit here watching and judging. It doesn't really matter how you do it. At least you are out, walking, camping and bringing us some great videos. Keep being you. That's how we like you and why we watch you. Keep smiling - good looking chap ;-) You said that's what all your future family will be saying when they watch your RUclipss LOL!! Love your sense of humour - and you have a really lovely smile. Thanks for sharing with us.
Hi Dan, great video! Love the fact that you have taken your son on the trip. I really like the new venue and the hike you've done, I will include it on my list of places to go! Your videos always make think of what a great mate you would be to have to go on camping trips with! You have such lucky friends! ATB! 👍🙂

glad your enjoying the cloud peak 2 bro. i got the same tent and it has been excellent in all conditions. withstood a proper storm in the lake district and all sorts 💪proper tent🙌 great video as always my guy 👊
It's a great tent, really good how the poles are clipped in and not pushed through a sleeve which can be a phaff. Go for the bivvy camp, looks a place. Good video, abit different but good.
Awesome video as always, but id love to see you go back and camp in that little demolished building near the start of the hike... looked like a cool wee spot to camp ⛺ Cant wait for the next video, always love watching them 😀

Another great video, and, yes, I was having my dinner when the chocolate raisins and snickers bar came up. That gave me a good laugh, and I kept on eating, lol. Also, I wouldn't do a bivi camp in that stone structure if I were you - it looks like a place where people would relieve themselves, if you know what I mean. :/ I'm not saying not to...just choose a corner wisely, lol.
Great video Dan. Mostly all of my wild camps is like this, few hours hiking with a pack on your back. Vegan Dan must have been exhausted carrying that load.

Hi Dan. Need more vids like this! Great vid. Nice tent looks pretty robust. I’ve just walked in from camping on Stapleton Tor on Dartmoor, so I know how you were feeling! It’s your age, mate!🤣😉. Stay well.
Nice to see you up in't moorlands pal. Stoodley pike has a beautiful view, had a camp up there myself, didn't go to plan, but that's wild camping for you. I have camped at Blackstone edge which is directly in the opposite direction, above littleborough, the views from there are just as amazing👌🏻. Glad to see your keeping it varied and just remember, a little hard graft pays off in the end with the fantastic views you are treated with when you wake, in the morning, ATB pal 👍🏻
Another good video dan. I've had the same tent for about 2 years and had it up the top of mhic martiun in glencoe last night. What was supposed to be a rather calm night turned out to be anything but, as all hell broke loose on the weather front. Winds were ferocious with heavy rain and although the tent was almost blown flat at one point, it performed brilliantly. Kept me safe and dry all night, not a true four season tent but a tough bugger all the same. All the best.
You were right to heat meal up from cold water you can save even more gas mate, put the meal pouch in the cold water, bring to the boil, switch gas off but leave the meal in water for 5 mins, then bring back to the boil, leave 5 more mins. You'll have hot meal and saved a load of gas only a few mins worth rathar than 10 and then use the water for your brew. Just make sure the pouch is clean, I always give them a quick wash in cold water or a soak to get rid of labels before I leave and keep them in a plastic bag like you have done there. Most camp meals and modern MRes have either no labels or easy peel ones for that purpose. ATB mate, hope to see more of these hike n camps.
Well done on your hike Dan, great video. Have you thought about hiking any of the Yorkshire Three Peaks? I've done Ingleborough. If you have kit that works and works well, why would you change it?
