Girl, you are so hard on yourself. I love how you try new things. Remember that this all fun and we like watching for you. You don’t need to stress about making mistakes or weird sound. Because if you didn’t mentioned it I wouldn’t know about it

I understand starting fresh. I will start fresh when my husband is home. He had Covid in July 2021. He has been in a rehab facility since August. He almost died. He’s doing better and hopefully will be coming home soon. I think once he does I will start over in my journal to celebrate a new start for our family.

I hope you know how inspiring you are to others. Dealing with grief is never easy, there is no time limit. I love your videos. They help me realize that it’s ok, I’m ok, and that I’m not alone….
    For that I thank you!

It's so soothing to watch you work with the music...I didn't have someone pass away in 2021, but I did have a failed business, and in a small town everyone knows. It really did make 2021 a year I don't really want to remember. I'm still trying to get my self-esteem back after having to close my doors. Here's to a better 2022!!

I love the spread and enjoy watching you sketch. My late husband was an artist also, (not professionally) so this brought back many memories. I also know about grief. I was 42 years old when my husband died from colon cancer, and I thought my life was over. Grief affects every aspect of your life. So go easy on yourself. You have a lot going on. Remodaling alone is a nightmare. Don't worry about the noise during your videos. It's much worse for you than your viewers. I certainly don't mind it and doubt your other followers do either. Starting a new journal was probably best. I still have my journal from when my husband passed away, and even though it has been 17 years, every now and then I get the urge to read some of it. That never ends well! And the mistake with the pages, goodness girl do not beat yourself up about that. You're doing good just to think with all you have going on. I appreciate that you share your mistakes. It reminds me I'm not the only one making blunders. Just keep giving us these great videos.

You and your joy, inspiration, and pain are all so real that it makes me smile through tears. As a mother of 3 young adults, I can't help think of the saying; parents are not meant to put their children to rest. I wish I could take just a modicum of your sadness to ease your spirit if even for just one day. Keep coming to us through your visionary videos, I enjoy them and you so very much.

I am so glad you are starting a brand new journal & I think you chose the best one❣️ Because I lost my daughter 3 years ago, & have been where you are, I would encourage you to take those black pages & put quotes & pictures & things that celebrate who your son was. It is a very cathartic & healing thing to do. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻😘

Awww, sweet Wallace just wanted to make an appearance! Lol! I love the idea of a memory journal. I'm so bad at tracking what happens. I'm trying to get better at doing it in my planner so that I'll have information to transfer to a journal. I'm getting there. You're such an inspiration! Thank you, Mary Ellen!

I completely agree with going into a new notebook. You can set the other aside or box it if it hurts too much just looking at it. Lost my step-son when he was 17. I keep saying one of these days I'll go through the pictures, sort and clean out. 26 years later, 'some day' hasn't happened yet. Day at time. Hours and minutes at a time when you can't handle day at a time. Be gentle with yourself.

Oh no, as soon as you said you were going to transfer the pages, I was thinking oh no some of them are gonna be lost! So glad you let yourself change the notebook. Perhaps when/if you are ever ready you could use the rainbow one to put memories and photos of him in. I understand the black pages so well and they convey what words cannot. The doggo one is so you! So relaxing to watch you doing this one. Please continue to give yourself whatever you need 💕

Yay for Wallace pitching in today! lol! I think a fresh journal is a great idea. And you should never feel bad for not being pre-wired for math and such. You are pre-wired for artistic talents which tend to not do as well with the more math and science based areas. I'm wired up for the math and science based areas and I'm not artistic and I'm good with that. You should be proud of those talents you have as they make you unique.

I had a similar problem with a journal a few years ago. I started an entirely new one mid-year. It helped. I have since taken the old journal out and flipped through it and faced the memories, but have been able to pack it away again with a big sigh. It is a part of my life so I will keep it. Changing journals was a good idea for me.

Before I started HP in 2018, I used to do Bullentin Journaling. I miss it ,- loved getting creative in it. The only thing I did not like was when I messed up and trying to remove the pages without losing others was hard. I wished I could just get plain dot gritted in HP to make my own .

Sometimes I uses it for memory keeping.

If you ever need tipin tricks let me know. It’s a gorgeous spread. I’m all for changing journals when needed for mental health or seasons of life. No rule we have to complete one. I know it’s so hard when your year has so many ups with daughters getting married and graduating and you getting engaged but the grief of losing a child surpasses that and it’s completely ok to give yourself a fresh journal to inspire you to use it more because that’s most important because that is self care.

*hugs* Grief isn't straightforward. If the 2021 book makes you sad, then one of the best self care things you can do is start a 2022 book. Maybe just do a "Some time later ..." page or something to cover the gap.
Please remember to show yourself compassion and, if you are comfortable with it, maybe you can find a virtual grief group so that you have a safe space and support during this difficult time....
