You know, I never really thought about it but I suppose tea lights that we use in votive candle holders are called “tea lights” because they were originally intended for tea pot warmers. My goodness I'm amazed at the selection and prices you are so lucky to be able to shop there. I especially love the dishes that look like Franciscan Desert Rose which I inherited from my mom. There were so many beautiful treasures and thank you for taking us along with you on your shopping trip.

Oh, my goodness!!!! So many beautiful and affordable treasures. I love the honey oak cabinet that sold for 225Eur - someone is happy to have found that. Thank you for taking us along to this treasure trove. The snow is beautiful but I forgot that you are from Texas and understand your concern for driving. Happy New Year!

Totally agree with an inventory list! I've taken pictures of my Lladro figures and Gerold Figuren and keep them on my cell phone so that when I'm out and about I can refer to them. Even so, I have doubled up on a Lladro angel! Oh well! What great and affordable treasures you found today! S.

New subscriber here Lady Mary Beth. (I am now subscribed to you and My Take on Home and Garden. You two have the best videos!). I enjoyed this video so much. What amazing prices and it must be so enjoyable and fun to shop in such a nice store and not have to break the bank. It reminded me of when I visited my sister in Germany years ago when I was in high school - my sister and her husband who was stationed in the army lived there for a couple years. I bought my mother some Christmas china in a nice gift shop while we were in Bavaria. I also bought her a really nice beer stein - I have since inherited these items. We use the German Christmas china every Christmas dinner. Probably my favorite place we visited while I was there was the Neuschwanstein Castle.

I’m a north German. We drink tea, most of the day. We use a Stövchen to keep the tea hot . But most families today have a different style then our grandparents and parents , when it comes to the meals. Breakfast isn’t very important ( we mostly use plates and no Frühstücks Brett, it’s not that useful , I use them as a cutting board) isn’t the main meal or even a warm meal anymore. It’s very similar to Britain or the US, because nowadays most women are working to. We have a warm meal in the evening ( dinner) . But it depends on what area , age group, social environment you are . Love your videos, you always find such beautiful and neat things! In my hometown is only one social store and nearly no second-hand stores. Maybe one antique dealer. But they all have their prices up to redicoulusness🤷🏽♀️ doesn’t keep me from getting a bargain from time to time 😂

Guten Tag. Ich habe ein weiteres deutsches Secondhandladen Video von dir genossen! When I was a student in Germany in ‘93, I purchased a Fürstenberg tea set in the Anna Carina mold or shape. The pattern or , muster’ is , Charlotte’ . During your tour of the shop, I didn’t see my pattern. Will have to have you look out for more pieces for me, especially the Stövchen!

Wild Rose is a gorgeous pattern but I wish it was not made from faience. Although the material is more durable than used in Burgenland and Rusticana for example it does get old spot marks and chips fairly easily. I also see quality difference between Villeroy & Boch pre-1960's and after. Much better quality after 1960
Good observation. They make a lot of Vitro Porzellan now, which is a stronger vitrified porcelain.

I started collecting rechauds after I learned about them from you, in one of your earlier videos. I have 5 or 6 at this point. They're practical and attractive. And when you set a tea table, it just seems more legit or credible to have a rechaud that matches your China. I have a pair that match my Rosenthal Monbijou pattern (the pure white version of the Classic Rose pattern you mentioned). So glad to learn so much from you!

I recently found a Waterford/Jasper Conran Desk Clock. It’s absolutely beautiful. Took a punt on it for £5. 1 new battery and it worked like a charm. I’m very happy. I thought of you when I found it, knowing you would be chuffed for me.

what a store😮i didn‘t know that we have such stores in germany. but not here in bavaria or do you know of one? i‘m born and raised in nürnberg and you get your bratwürste on a round pewter dish and when you order more than 8or 10 (they are small) they come on a heartshaped pewter dish. i have one . i thrift for midcentury pieces, but also crystal and old dishes, thers so much more „soul“ in these things. thanks for your videos, i can learn so much!

Perfectly safe for porcelain. I use a glass warmer as well. Be sure to not leave an empty vessel, or it can scorch the inside of the teapot. Must have liquid inside.
