Taking ALL of his story arcs in different media into consideration, I am comfortable with calling him an antagonist of Spiderman. I stand by not calling him a villain.

Had the MCU introduced Kraven instead, his serum could've been derived from the Wakandan heart-shaped herb (they never really said what it was in the comics... just "magical" herbs from the heart of Africa). Also, I have a feeling the MCU version would've been closer to the comics version. Looks like we're getting another flick like Morbius.
