This was easily one of the most helpful videos I’ve watched so far!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video, I can only imagine how busy you are. I’m planning on taking the GRE the third week of August 😊. I was initially introduced to the PA profession by my mother’s pain management doctor, he took the time to sit down and speak to me about the pros and cons. He also allowed me to shadow the PA’s and NP’s at his practice, the whole staff was dedicated to providing the best health care experience possible (which is what I strive to do). That was about two years ago and ever since then, I’ve been watching your videos. You’re awesome for allowing us to follow you on your journey, thanks James !

Hi James! I’m scheduled to take the GRE THIS JULY!! I’m so nervous! This might sound super self absorbed but someone who has inspired me is myself, 10 years from now. Thinking about what my life could be like, the lives I could be impacting, and the fact that the future is so unknown is motivating and inspiring. A big quote that has stuck with me and that I refer too when I’m doubting myself and abilities is “if you don’t believe in yourself, why would anyone else?” That quote really keeps me going and forces me to keep pushing forward and have confidence.
Also I just want to say, I’ve been following you from what seems to be the beginning and I just want to say thank you for being someone I can look up too in regards to this PA journey.

Thank you so much for making this video, I was looking some insight on how to crush this exam and your video was super helpful! As intimidating as it is, I think I just need to set up a plan, get started and... *breathe*... You are truly inspiring and so so so helpful! Please keep the videos coming! I plan to take the GRE this coming September so I have around five months to study. My neighbor, who is a surgical PA, has influenced me the most because he allowed me to shadow him for a week and showed such compassion each and every day. He showed me what is was like to be a PA and he taught me how to absolutely love medicine. He walked into work each day loving every moment of it and ever since I have had the drive and grit to essentially become just that. A PA that loves his job, and has a deep passion for medicine.

What’s up James. I’m taking the GRE in August. I graduate undergrad in May and from there I’m spending the rest of my time studying for the GRE. I took it once and was disappointed in my score, I know it doesn’t reflect my abilities. Anyway, I wasn’t inspired by a single person but my motivation came after I dropped out of college for 4 years. During that time hit a huge rough patch but I overcame became an EMT and began to dig deeper into the medical field. I learned what a PA was and feel that it is my calling. Then after following a bunch of PAs on IG and shadowing I see how great, caring, and kind hearted they all are. I get more inspired everyday by watching videos and listening to pod casts and honestly man your videos are a huge motivator. Keep doing what you’re doing cause you’re inspiring many of us and you’re an honest representation of the PA profession and I hope I can do the same one day too.

Omg I’ve been waiting for this!! I plan to take the GRE this summer (within the next 3 months or so). The person who has inspired me the most to become a PA was a PA I shadowed for being so supportive and giving me resources/tips anywhere from the applications to actually in classroom tips. I have also been very inspired by you. The first video I ever watched of yours was the low GPA, but everything you have put out on Instagram and here on RUclips has been so very helpful! Freshman year of high school my sister was diagnosed with leukemia and we spent a lot of time in the hospital with her. Thankfully she is cured now. Then I learned about PA and through youtube channels like yours I was sure that I wanted to do PA instead of another medical profession. Thank you!

Wow! Thank you so much James for your videos and helpful insta content! I've been following your journey for a while now and I am so amazed at how, despite your busy lifestyle, you continue to put out helpful videos, tips, and motivation for us pre-PAs! I plan on taking my GRE this summer sometime during June and would really benefit from any helpful book or resource! Ultimately, there are a lot of people who have inspired my journey to wanting to become a PA but I honestly think that the person who has inspired me the most to become a PA is the current pediatric PA who I have shadowed for the past year. The way she is so proud of her profession and is always excited and enthusiastic to care for her patients really motivates me. I really look up to her in the way that she is constantly wanting to ensure that every patient feels safe and comfortable with every check up and that is a big reason of why I want to take on this difficult journey!

Hi James, I’m taking the GRE in July. I would say that you have inspired me most to start on this journey to becoming a PA. I originally thought I would be a doctor (it’s what all my friends planned to do so it was one of the few options I really knew about), so I majored in biology with the full belief that I would go to med school. But then I came across your videos, and they educated me on what it is to be a PA. You showed me that there were other opportunities in healthcare besides just being a doctor. (And your PA vs NP video really helped me decide on PA). You’ve inspired me to pave my own path and I am thankful!

Hi James! Thank you for doing this video and giveaway!! I plan on taking the GRE in (hopefully) the next 2 months. A few people who inspired me to be on the path I'm on are the PAs I work with in the ED currently as a scribe. Hey James! I'm planning on taking the GRE in later in the Fall this year. I was inspired by a coworker I met at my second job I ever got when I was in high school. I knew she went to my high school and was 4 or 5 years older than me. However, when I met her I found out she went to the same college I was planning on going to. She told me about the PA profession and I just remember being so inspired. Soon after I met her that summer I remember her telling me about an interview she got for a PA program and how nervous she was. Later on she ended up getting accepted and from seeing her excitement I knew it was the path I was going to take as well. I can't wait to experience that feeling she felt when she told me she got accepted!

I plan on taking the GRE in two years but it's never too early to get studying! I'm not just saying this but you and Lorae Schafer inspired me on this journey. I was set on going into medicine since middle school but as I finished my second year of college, I realized I wanted a job with somewhat flexible hours, shorter schooling, and could have the opportunity to switch between specialties (since I'm very indecisive). I came across your channel and Lorae's Instagram and since then, I've been learning everything there is to know about PA and the excitement you two give off makes me even more excited for what the future holds. I plan on taking the GRE this summer! The people who inspire me are my parents. They are immigrants who were unable to finish middle school due to poverty. They came to the USA in order to give me the opportunity to have an education. I chose to become a PA because of health issues my family have gone through while struggling with insurances that they were not able to afford. I want to make that positive impact in low income neighborhoods and help them as much as I can. And this is all thanks to my parents for doing their best to keep me in school and never giving up on me.

After seeing your video where you talked about your time at UCSD and did a post bacc, it inspired me to try harder in school (I also go to UCSD! the thumbnail was the academic history and that caught my eye lol) and to utilize all the resources I have around me. You were also the first medical related Instagram that I followed, and now I follow a ton and love following their health care journey! Ive been pre PA since my first year, and during my second year I got confused with PA/dental/med, but now I’m in my third year, planning on taking my GRE during 2019-2020 school year so apply to PA school :-)

🤞🏼🤞🏼Im taking the GRE JUNE 1ST! So pray for ya girl please 🤞🏼🤞🏼 on the other hand, as cheesy as it may sound... My grandma has been my biggest inspiration. I’m her very first granddaughter to graduate from college and to pursue a career as a P.A. She had a dream of her own to become one. Unfortunately, she didn’t have a chance to follow her dreams because she was believed to be a “a stay at home mom” and couldn’t become something more because she was a “woman”. She tells me that even though she couldn’t achieve her dreams, she’s proud to see me pursue mine. I’m not only pursuing my dreams to become a P.A. But I want to dedicate my achievements to her.

Hi James, I’m planning on taking my GRE in July! Thanks for this video it answers many questions I had! Someone who has inspired me into the PA profession was myself and my parents. I came to accept I wasn’t pursing the profession of my dreams due to pressure and doubt in my own self in thinking I couldn’t study medicine. I am a first generation college graduate so that also had an impact on me but one day I said enough. I was going to stop having fear, doubt and telling me myself I couldn’t do something. I came back to school Spring semester to change my pathway and degree to pursue the profession that has always called my name. My parents have been 100% supportive more than I could ever ask for! They inspire me to face my fears, break labels but most importantly believe in myself.

Hi! I just recently started watching your videos and they’ve been so helpful for me as a Pre-PA student. 😊 I’ll be taking the GRE in June. And someone who has inspired me is my doctor. He’s encouraged me to go into the medical field and ever since then I’ve fallen in love with medicine and it has led me to the PA profession.

I loved this video I was in need of this content. So I'm going to be taking the GRE IN October of 2019. I'm super excited to be able to take this test now that I have the right outlets to study from. I chose health care because when I was a kid I used to visit the doctors and while I was in visiting one day I seen how my doctor was helping his other patients and making them feel more than just a number. I loved what I seen and from that day forth I knew I had to join this field. Now 4 years working in the medical field I have chosen I want to be a professional and have set out on my adventure. With a little bit of luck and confidence and support from my family and friends around me I'm going to make it happen. I plan to be in PA next year.

I’m trying to pump myself up about this since I’m trying to get into a MOT program after having graduated 10yrs ago 😱😅. Career change, here I come!! 💪😆 Thanks again for sharing this video and all it’s content!! 😁👍

I plan to take it before I start this next fall semester so in August! I plan to study all throughout the summer so I really really hope and pray I win this giveaway!! I feel like I didn’t really get inspired by one person specifically. I just truly think this profession is the epitome of perfection! Thank you for all your advice🙏🏻 it really helps so much!

Thank you for such an informative video! I really appreciate how you focused on strategies rather than the content - because let's be real, being familiar with the structure of standardized tests is at least half the battle. Fun fact, research have shown that standardized test scores correlates with socioeconomic status and is significantly less about the content!
With that said, I'm planning to take the GRE in August/ September and would greatly appreciate any materials/ information regarding the test to help me obtain a higher score. A person who inspired me most on my PA journey is a PA I met in the ED during an internship. He was super passionate about his career and was a strong patient advocate. He was also extremely considerate and looked out for patients, coworkers, and students alike. While my role was to be a fly on the wall, he always looked out for me and my peers and even offered us shadowing opportunities! His enthusiasm for his career path encouraged me to switch career paths and flip my entire undergraduate career upside down. Hands down one of the most inspiring mentor's I've met (even if he's unaware of this haha)!

I’ve been working in medical field for 4 years as a Med Tech, and I always love everything that is related to science. Not until I have a chance to shadow a dialysis PA, he really inspires to PA career.
Just find out about your giveaway video today. Hopefully, I’m not too late. Thank you for giving those books away ☺️ and thank you for your useful tips as always.

I am moving into my last year of undergrad and I am so nervous about the GRE. This video answered a lot of questions that I had so thank you! I’m planning to take my GRE in 2020 after I graduate but I want to start studying this summer! I was inspired by the MEDLIFE movement to go into a healthcare career. They showed me how much I could do as a PA and how much of a difference I could make all over the World! I can’t wait to begin the journey of becoming a PA! Thanks for the video and the opportunity to get this material to begin studying!

Hey James!! Love that you're doing a giveaway! My grandparents inspired me to pursue PA school as they were head nurse and a top radiologist in China. Their schooling and success was incredibly rare during that time and I saw their heart and passion towards their careers...just as you are developing your heart right now!! I plan to take the GRE next spring

I saw your videos during my freshmen year (2016~2017) and it really helped me plan and get pumped about being a pre-PA. I was a pre-nursing major and after doing online research decided PA was for me! I want to do ER and Primary in the future 😍
I plan on taking my first GRE toward the end of this summer and have been borrowing GRE books from the library to start the prep. It would be awesome to have my own books to study with though! 😍😍

    Hi James 👋
Thank you for your advice. Truly appreciate it! I love the idea of writing the flash cards out using a one word definition. I plan on taking the GRE exam at the end of June or beginning of July. My friend Kayla (PA-C) introduced me to the PA profession and since then my desire to become a PA continues to grow stronger. Savanna from PA Platform continues to inspire me as well as many others now including you. I'm so glad I discovered your RUclips channel. Knowing myself, I'll binge watch most of your videos this weekend. 😄
Thanks in advance for all future advice,
    Vlasta

I am taking the GRE at the end of August so all of these materials would be SUPER helpful. My brother is actually the one who has inspired me to pursue PA school. He is an engineer and although he is not on the PA career path, he has been the one to encourage me to pursue my career even when I felt like I wasn’t good enough. Very thankful for him!! Thank you for all your videos as well! They are super encouraging (:

Amazing advice, highly recommend Magoosh as an addition for people who are auditory or visual learners because its all videos and online practice exams/quizzes! Taking my GRE and the end of this month (may push it a little further into May - TBD) and its STRESSFUL but manageable with full time job/volunteering/etc. One of my biggest inspirations: my best friend Kendall, even tho she is planning to go to Medical School - we are going through the exact same paths right now with a gap year, applications, our entry test (GRE/MCAT), work, etc. but her positivity and motivation is an inspiration that keeps me level headed and reminded of why i love this career path in the first place. When your best friend goes into healthcare with you and she understands all your healthcare memes & pick up lines, shes a keeper :)

And since then, I have watched people on RUclips including yourself that have also inspired me. I love your videos and you definitely keep me motivated.

I just wanted to let you know because I am so thankful for your channel and I will be applying next cycle!

Someone who inspired me to go into the PA profession is my younger brother who has Down’s syndrome. He is very smart and always happy. He has inspired me to advocate, listen to and help people who come from under represented backgrounds that may not have a voice.

Hey James, pretty useful the video, watching from Mexico. The person who inspired me was my brother, he studied a masters in the states two years ago, and 5 years ago he had a very basic English, that was quite inspiring for me. I'm planning to do the same and take the GRE in September. Hope you upload more videos about GRE, useful and inspiring.

Hi James, I plan on taking the GRE this summer. I am truly inspired by yourself and other PAs who share their stories/advice on social media. I feel encouraged when I see others who were able to achieve the same dream I have.
One recommendation I have for others taking the GRE is to utilize the free GRE events hosted by Kaplan! These free events are held in a virtual classroom. The Kaplan teachers review & teach concepts as well as strategies in both quantitative and verbal reasoning. Once again the best thing is it's FREE!

My roommate from my first semester of my Freshman year of college actually introduced me to the PA profession. She's the reason I decided to research it and ultimately based my undergraduate career on pursuing it. Also, watching your videos has been so inspirational to me because you are so relateable and amazing! Thank you for all your content!!

Thank you so much for just having this giveaway and for your advice! I am planning on taking the GRE in the Fall of this year. Someone who has inspired me is Adanna the PA (for the same reason that you have as well). Most PA schools are very white and female and there is nothing inherently wrong about that, but it's harder to imagine yourself in that field without minority representation. Seeing both of you being successful in this field has been really helpful in encouraging me to continue along this journey as a black woman. Besides that, I guess I have found inspiration to continue to work towards PA school in myself and knowing that this is a goal I want to accomplish. Looking at it in terms of trying to make my future self proud, has been a big motivator for myself especially when I have times of self-doubt and even imposter syndrome in certain spaces. Thanks again for putting this type of content out there.

I plan to take the GRE again in the first week of August, on a Saturday. I want to get a better score to increase my options for gradschool. Thank you for doing this giveaway. I learned the hard way how important (and expensive) the GRE is and am glad someone will be benefiting from these study materials. I’m inspired by the kids I work with and their families that work every day to overcome barriers in communication due to living with Autism.
