I've been watching you from the beginning of your original channel as I have a 1982 F-150, step-side, manual transmission with the 4.9L inline 6, 300cu inch. I have to say, you must have incredible fortitude to sell that truck. I had a 2-tone green/tan, with fiberglass camper shell to match, 1986 short-bed F-150, 4x4, 5.8L 351w that I bought in Anchorage, AK in 1992. It was great, I loved driving that baby, smooth as butter, and talk about power. A real "Country Boy's Cadillac"!! In 1996, I allowed myself to be tricked by a Toyota dealership in San Diego, Ca, and traded it in for a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner. Oh my goodness. Talk about the worst buyer's regret I have experienced in my life. I was so mad at myself for doing that. I grew up on a farm in upstate NY where every real "man, father and patriarch" has a truck. Now, as the man of my own house of 4, I didn't have a truck to even bring home the family Christmas tree. I would have dreams, that it was all a bad dream, then wake-up to know that it wasn't a bad dream, I've lost a huge chunk of my manliness by getting rid of my awesome Ford truck. I learned the very hard way, that the best truck or vehicle in the world is the one that you absolutely love driving. It gives you pleasure all the time and it makes you feel good, joyful and appreciative inside. After about 3 months, I couldn't take it anymore. I actually felt a constant deep sick sense of depression and regret! So I sold the damn 4-Runner to a California wimp/weenie. I bought my Uncle's 1987 F-250 with the 460 and matching camper shell, 4x2, long bed. I was happy again. It wasn't quite as nice as perfect as the 1986 from Alaska, but it was 100% better than the 4-Runner, at least to me. I now have the 1982 F-150 that I keep off of the salted roads in upstate NY. I also have a 1996 Dodge Ram, 4x4, trans cooler, tow package, 5.9L magnum V-8 with matching camper shell. I wish you luck with this new "to you" 1985 F-150 and hope you don't experience what I did because that sucked.
I promise I'll take the very best care of her, and you know damn well you'll be taking her for spins once we got all the new additions on her!! I'm excited for that new hood!
I started a similar journey with my 1986 2wd F250 diesel over 15 years ago (kept the 6.9 IDI in my case). I'm fortunate enough to still be driving it after all these years. You just don't see these trucks on the road anymore.
@@fullsenderman8291 Not to mention loyal. Even if it will never catch a modern diesel, it will get you wherever you need to go, without breaking itself, or the bank. A turbo wakes them up nicely, too.
Wow. Watched this truck off an on for the entirety of the build, I remember first seeing the truck as 2wd, and years later finding the Chanel again and seeing the truck as 4wd and was so impressed. That sideshow of all the pictures of the truck with Tuesday's gone in the background was emotional! End of an Era, on to the next. She'll be around for years to come without a doubt
That truck is how I found your channel way back when you were starting the 4bt swap. I've been watching ever since. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what's next!
Love this truck. Had some great times in this truck as well as when I drove it earlier this year to the Gambler. Gonna miss her, but she's going to a great guy. I hope I'm able to drive it again someday. Congratulations, Jordan, you got an awesome truck...
I can say I am extremely surprised to see you sold it. I remember following you not too long after you bought it and I really started watching when Adam got that F350. Sad to see it go. Y’all are a lot of the reason I bought my 86 6.9 F-250. Can’t wait to see what comes next !
Dammit, Jimmy! I wish you didn't have to sell the old truck! I've always been interested in buying it, but I didn't think you turn lose of her! Good luck with your future endeavors! I'll be watching.
Man i hope you don’t regret this decision like i did when i sold my red 98 12 value 5spd ram dually. I miss that truck everyday but it needed a full restoration cab and box and i didn’t have the funds at the time
I too feel a little sad that you are selling your old friend Betty, so many hours of love invested, over a decade of ownership. I hope you do not regret your decision later on.
Bahaha! I’ve been waiting for this comment. My foot is literally just touching the pedal. That clutch is 7 years old and still works like new. Take it easy.

Them 6.9s were some work horses

That truck is why I started watching your channel and hopefully she brings much joy to your friend

Been watching this build since 2014 maybe even 2013! Thanks for taking the time to show us all you’ve done. It’s been a great journey!
I saw you build this, and used it as a guide to put a 4b in my 1986 f250. Thank you.
Its an end of an Era for sure

Best of luck in the new job. The truck will be missed, but excited to see what’s next.
Well, it sounds like she'll be in good hands. I look forward to your next project.
Been following this story for a while now. Sorry to see it go, but glad it's going to a good home. Life goes on.
Damn. I couldn't stand the thought of letting my first build go!

You made me started liking the bullnose trucks 😢
I've been watching a long time. I remember you getting this truck, swapping out the 351w, lifting it, etc.
Dammit, Jimmy! I wish you didn't have to sell the old truck! I've always been interested in buying it, but I didn't think you turn lose of her! Good luck with your future endeavors! I'll be watching.
best of luck on the new job and all future endeavors Jimmy.
Nice tribute video

time for an om606 build
Another 4BT Cummins or maybe a Mercedes OM606 Turbo diesel?
I always wanted a 4bt in my 96 f250 sadly she was lost in a flood
Wasn't this for sale on craigslist for 20k a few years ago?
Anybody that drives with their left foot on the clutch like that shouldn’t drive a standard anyways it’s probably a good thing you’re selling it

I don't know if we have grown up with you or the truck
