Haha Great one , those guys turned the corner and _PUNCHED IT !!_ I've never seen the process of afterburner light off like that . I remember reading " back when " about how the digital engine control on the upgraded F110-229(?) engines improved light off time pretty dramatically and now I've seen it .
I love the shot of the first on to takeoff, you see first a couple smallish, kind of blue colored flames at the bottom then the AB kicks in a couple stages -- great view as you see it all. The perspective for the other launches wasn't conducive to seeing the AB light up.
Get some really good bass speakers, lookup and play "SR-71 Night Takeoff", 1:37 sec, wild! The F-15's are equally impressive but the way the J-58's burners kick in instantly from the TEB shots is phenomenal!
Launch truck, 1998 or 1999, Red Flag Vegas, our Seymour Johnson AFB F-15E's had the -220 P&W engines but Lakenheath's E's had the upgraded -229 engines since their aircraft were newer than ours. I would estimate that the -229's were 30% louder than -220's, so yeah, the video does not do justice to the true power of 29,000 lbs. of thrust per engine. The friggin' walls on the launch truck were reverberating like I've never experienced!
@@bobsurgranny I recall "surges" which were typically exercises w/chem gear nearby. Or, when they all depart very quick turn for a deployment, at night when the air was cool and dense, the sound would set off all the car alarms in the dorm parking lots! Good times but I couldn't wait to get out, I get out and missed the air show everyday.
Love the sound and effects. Would loved to have worked on the F-15. Worked on the F-4D E, And G F-16 A&B and the C-130 B,E, H and Navy T, F, and J models
I’ve been trying to catch them takeoff in the morning here at Eglin, but there’s a lot of classified testing here, so there aren’t great places to plane spot.
@@bobsurgranny yeah, I did some plane spotting at Ellsworth AFB, watched some B-1s stationed there, some F-15s from Seymour Johnson, and F-16s from somewhere else. We heard some jet engines, so went to check it out, to our surprise we saw all those. It was at night too. Also saw them in the morning. There was a little pull-out by a road right next to the runway and taxiway, but soon with the delivery of the B-21 in the next few years, you won’t be able to take ANY pictures or videos.
That rumble makes me smile all day long, the eagles are some of the best!
💯 Me too!
They are my favorite since I was 5 years old. Nothing has changed
I love how the video clearly shows when the afterburner ignites the exhaust and extra fuel....so frickin cool!
Only 4 miles from Barnes AFRB I get to hear and see them all the time everyday
Nice!
Love that actuator sounds as power increase
Nice sound

Mam, that must be a kick in the ass when that thing goes. I would love to back seat ride in one of those
Why an F-15 make me feel happy all day.
They are amazing machines.

This is my favorite video i've seen yet! The afterburner takeoffs are just cool!
Well I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍
Has to be the closest thing to a carrier cat launch. So fast!
Dunnarf pile' that burner on quick this day
i wonder which gets airborne fastest from ground...15 or the 14?
@@trutymeproductionsPretty sure all things being equal the F-15 wins

as the power gets introduced at this spot, it makes your chest rattle and ears fizz. Good buzz 😉👍

Yeah it's great sitting in a motor with the doors shut feeling that rumble from within

A beautiful fighter Jet! My favorite, seen many times in Airshows 🎉
💯 top jet
It makes up for its lack of stealth with horsepower and gunpowder

God bless all the crews
Love Lakenheath ❤
💯 Always a fun day out there
Gotta love Flame Holders
Gorgeous Aircraft! ❤
Indeed
Loves me some good ol fashion afterburners
💯 Can't beat it
Intense and I love it.
Can't beat a fix of jet noise, especially the F15
I remember the F111s at Lakenheath
Bet that was mega having them there. I was born too late for all that 😴

Shame when that's the case and bases aren't spotter friendly. Don't give up!

Impressive afterburners at night on these F-15EStrike Eagles 😁😎
Sometimes they are as long as the aircraft itself 🔥😍
@@bobsurgranny ooo sounds epic just like a lightsaber ☺️
Nice rumble
💯 The best

MiG-29s got one over Kosovo and one over Iraq but American media won’t report it.
Something about a long afterburner flame screams offensive toxic masculinity. Not that it's a bad thing. 🍺🍺🍺
Even more jaw dropping is the extremely short acceleration to rotate. Almost as if launching from an aircraft carrier...
Certainly don't mess about
nice
