Last year Carlos was nervous in the Final and dumped the first set 6-1 to Novak….then won a second set tie break which is no easy feat. This year Carlos will NOT be nervous and could win the opening set if he comes out guns blazing. I like Carlos in straight sets which I know is a bold prediction, but Musetti did not play great and still pushed Novak around at times. Carlos has way better defensive skills and is a step faster than Lorenzo which will play havoc to old man Djokovic. By the second set Novak will be touching his knee like it’s the cause of his poor performance.

Medvedev) and Olympics so badly, but it didn't work out both times. Don't get me wrong - one of the strongest pressure players ever, but badly wanting something hasn't always worked in his favour. Don't forget Novak hasn't won a title this year, or even beaten a Top 10 player. It all depends on how focused Carlos is, he hasn't played particularly well in the last few matches but got away with it. If he manages to stay in the match without taking those rest sets, like he usually does, he'll win. Novak is always on mentally, we'll see if his knee holds. He hasn't had tough opposition till now. Nole has virtually walked through to the final with minimal effort. With one exception, hardly any real epic competition, while the other draw was tougher. Does Djokovic need to end the points earlier in the rally? Is he fit enough to out-grind Alcaraz? What does he need to do differently, this time, to win the match. Some substance would really be helpful here. This is a very important match. Perhaps the biggest one that we've had all year.
