18 minutes of my face.... Enjoy! Let me know if there's something specific you wish I spent more time on.
Thank you Danny for all you do! 🙏🏻
You didn't say "I love you" this time.
COLOR GRADING PROCESS Danny! :)
😊Thank you so much. This helps me believe, once and for all, that film really can look amazing on a low budget with minimal gear. It just takes a good eye for creativity and planning. Many thanks! Any tips on how you're shooting your ISO, aperture, shutter speed, exposure, etc. for the dark scenes on the Sony FX3?
I think an entire video on your homemade SFX would be great 🤣
I just can't believe how quickly and consistently you're able to turn out this sort of quality! So impressive. I'd be down to watch a longer breakdown so don't worry about "this getting long". Roll with it. Make it 30min! :)
Hahaha thanks bro!!! I legit just can’t talk for that long I start running out of steam. I hate talking.
Yeah!
Man do I feel that...
I think I speak for everyone when I say we'd all probably watch even an hour long breakdown.
The lighting and set design/color is what impressed me the most about this, absolutely incredible! 👏
Haha thanks man!
Damn, Danny. With this amount of talent and with this super calm personality you can totally become a cult leader :)
Hahahah thank you
WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT TO USE MY MOUTH TO GET THE CINEMATIC “WHOOSH” SFX, THANK YOU DANNY
hhh I use my mouth too record by my iphone.
Only watched this because the final product was so...so...good! You really earn our attention to these breakdowns!
Break down the grade..... that would be equally interesting. It has a great filmic density.
Your positivity and of course quality of work is what brings us back again and again. You inspire us❤
This is probably the best video someone can watch when thinking about creating a film. This isn't about the Baseball Film, you gave a lot of good general tips that can elevate your project 100x.
🔥🔥🔥 I literally bought that same car rig a month ago and one of the ballheads broke on a test shot, had to exchange it for another one.
Mounted car shots look SO GOOD, almost makes the risk worth it lol
I paid slightly more for the older version of this rig. It doesnt have the ball joints. It's a bit more hassle to setup but feels a lot more rigid to me
Hahaha yeah dude I repeat I am NOT recommending this product…. But I will use it again
Some scary sh*t lol
@@DannyGevirtz what about running next to the car with gimbal? wouldnt be result same at this speed?
Every time. You inspire me *every* single time. So thankful for your presence on this platform, Danny.
This was exceptionally well done Danny. As someone who lived through some of those crappy moments playing baseball as a kid, I feel like you captured that mindset very well. It really took me back to those days. Thanks for the breakdown, it's always a treat to see your process.
Thanks Danny for this breakdown, your work is such an inspiration. You’re doing great and I can’t wait for your next projects 👏🏻
what made me love this video/channel the most was seeing how genuine you looked when telling Jared, "the goal is to work for yourself"
I've learned so much just watching the BTS and your breakdown. definitely more pumped to go create my own piece right now. I appreciate your advice about not working for other people. You are so right. I wasn't happy in creating the vision of other people. Just thank you!
Loved all the thought put into matching compositions and transitions especially. Really elevates it!
The film was absolutely incredible, and it is so cool to see the thought process and the process that went into creating this. Really awesome work
Watching this video makes me want to try this myself. You are able to demonstrate that with hard work, good planning, and creative thought, you can achieve so much. Superb film, and so good to hear your commentary. Thanks.
Loved this such a beautiful film shot from beginning to end!
So good Danny! Appreciated the long breakdown. Looks like some great use from those Nanlites! Excited to hear more about your production company that you are working on building up!
This hit home in a way and looks so beautiful. creative shots the entire way through too. Sound is amazing. Inspired!
I'm very tired of saying how much I admire and love your work, but bro, I can't help myself. Happy to see how much you are growing! Advice in the last bit is gold. Keep shining Danny!
Only discovered Danny’s channel this year and now it’s my fave thing to watch on RUclips 🙌🏻
10:35 Ok, this part makes me think differently, in a way a never thought. Thanks for this perspective Danny, makes me realize something different.
Just wanted to say you have a very Spielberg-esque lighting style and it's gorgeous. You're one of the best filmmakers when it comes to lighting and color grading dude. Love the breakdowns and total transparency on your process - super helpful.
Danny, thank you so much… I am an absolute beginner and need to create short heart touching clips for my art work. You’ve help me understand a lot more of what’s involved and ideas of how to do it. Overwhelming for sure, but I will start simple. Being a mom of a son, I really appreciate hearing your heart and seeing the passion you have in what you are doing. You have the gift of teaching, I can totally relate and understand the way describe your process in detail and intentions. You have inspired me to give it a go. I’ll keep watching. Thank you so very much. I do hope you accomplish all you dream. :) Best, Janise
Just watched the 3 videos and learned a lot. The film is amazing. Thank you for all these advices. Very inspiring.
I don't leave comments on RUclips but I really had to let you know that you and your channel are brilliant. Your words about working for yourself resonated so much
Very dope breakdown Danny. Looking forward to seeing future work!
I love this man! Such a good breakdown. thanks for allowing us into your process. It's inspiring me to get back into my filmmaking.
this is fire bro! thank you for sharing your thought process and everything else and all being humble about it too...
Amazing video man, your videos are always top tier and every bit of detail doesn't go unnoticed. So keen to see what you do next!
D! I finally got to watch this…so awesome man! Thank you so much for being family, we truly appreciate you!🤙🏽💯
thank YOU for posting all these videos. I am so excited every time I see a new upload!
Keep up the good work Danny.
We love you
Thank you Yan!!
Thanks for the breakdown Danny! The entire time I was thinking you must have had a big crew but nope, just tons of planning and tons of skill!
Please do make more vids like this i feel like I've learnt more in one sitting then I ever did back at uni, this new vid is soooo beautiful dude
Absolutely love it Danny. Thanks for breaking it down, it helps a lot!
Absolutely killed it mate !!
I watched your baseball film first, and it was awesome! Then this video came up next so of course I had to watch it... you my friend do a great job at explaining your story, and your techniques. And that in my opinion is most important part. Thank you for sharing. I learned a ton from this!
Dear danny. There is nothing mindblowing about it. You deserve all that positive feedback. You made it and you inspire many of us. I stopped watching these kind of channels, but yours has still a very nice feel good vibe to it. And this is something I am striving towards.
Keep up the good work and I will get there too.
You are a pure inspiration man, seriously! Been looking for some project like yours to make with a friend of mine! But It'll come, trust me!
I haven't gone on RUclips in a while and this popped up in my notifications and I was absolutely blown away! I am a videographer myself for a marketing and consulting firm! Amazing Job! Its nice to see the Sony FX3 have this type of quality! I own the Sony FX6
Also I actually loved the seed's scene. The kid is struggling with his identity as a ball player and he's frustrated with himself. I loved the discomfort resulting from seeing him spit on his reflection. It is a critical scene for connecting with his struggle and creating tension. Nice work!
Exactly! Thanks Ashley!!
FINALLY! Thank you so much for the breakdown Danny keep rockin🔥
Danny you're a wealth of information and a fountain of inspiration! Thanks so much for sharing that with us.
These are my favorite videos that you make: here's something awesome (shows you know what you're talking about), here's how I did it. Thanks for these! Super informative and helpful.
These breakdowns are super helpful and I’m diggin the chill vibe behind it! That was a cold piece Danny 😎👌🏾
Thank you!
You got me super motivated to make a skateboarding version of your baseball video! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Danny your approach to content is so good bro. And your spirit and energy is approachable. I wish you the best in all you do in life. I am inspired to try new things because of you. 🙏🏽✊🏾
Danny, I absolutely love your music choice for everything you do. It just avoids that typical "commercial/ royalty free" feel and I think it adds so much character and production value to the final product. I've been using Musicbed for a while now but would love to see a video of you breaking down your music selection process and how you find the more niche tracks as I know this is a struggle for so many of us!
Keep up the inspiring work! Miles
You're chill as they come. Keep crushing it bro , loved the short. INSPIRED!
Danny, KEEP THESE COMING!
I can not stress enough how rare this level of production / breakdown is to find on RUclips. Because of the nature of the platform, most creators tend to target solely beginning / aspiring creatives, possibly because it gets more views faster. Solely for context, I’ve been growing my freelance media company for the past 7 years and I recently DP/directed a couple of global commercial campaigns. Needless to say, thank you for touching on the higher level topics. You are touching on the things that truly matter, pre pro, budgets, etc. Cheers to finding your niche and creating a solid lane for yourself. I’m excited to see what you do with the channel.
Thank you so much brotha!!
I’m learning so much from you Danny, thank you so much
Loved the lighting breakdown!
Amazing work. Very inspiring! Congratulations Danny
Awesome Danny, loved it.
I'm going to make something like this like right now! Thats what you do, you're inspiring people around the world❤🙌
Thanks for that
Thank you so much for the awesome film and most of all the break down. We’re all learning from all those golden nuggets that you share with us! Thanks bro, salut from Amsterdam!
Amazing as always
I literally could watch your videos even if they last for hour or two 🔥 I really enjoy your content Danny. Keep it up and God bless 🙌
ahhh this is so valuable man, even the little gems on the composition with transitions and the "self-made" sound effects, the voloume depending on how far away, all so useful man, Thanks for sharing and creating this, will definitely be one that I'll be referring to in the future. Love it man
So glad to hear that my guy! Thank you!
Love. Lots of it. An overwhelming surplus of it.
I love these breakdowns so much, I learn so much from them! Good stuff Danny :)
So glad to hear that! Thank you!
Yes please make more things like this! I cannot express how inspired I am. And I'm not just saying that from a feeling perspective. Are you really inspired if it doesn't lead to action? So, i've got my Milanote board filled out, i've got my locations, and i've got my actress. I'm so excited and grateful for you spending the time to teach. Thanks Danny, you're a real one.
Amazing man! Go crush it!!
Beautiful! Can't wait to create something.
super cool man , great short nice all round story.
A Legend in the making 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Amazing Doc. Keep Going Danny.

Another great vid. Thanks Danny! I like your calm style of talking.
Wow 😳 Thank you from the bottom of my ❤️. You don’t have to reveal your workflow but you do. Your talent is absolutely beautiful. The only word to describe your art. Beautiful. It’s from your heart. Your a true kid at heart. I have a start up client I’ll be creating for soon and this video just sparked my creative brain 🧠. I have faith that I’ll do an incredible job because of you. God is working through you. Keep creating my brother. Much love from Austin, Tx.
Dang man thanks so much for this comment. Means the world. Best of luck!
You the definition of what you can do with a minimal amount of gear, years of experience, and a never ending passion. I hope you get that dream budget to make your dream project 🤞🏽

Hello, tell me. What filter did you use on the lens in the baseball video?
dude!!! absolutely brilliant video, and learned so much from this. Just what i needed to watch today
Thanks for sharing work process. Nice shortfilm!
I just wanted to say thank you. Recently, I have been struggling with complete burnout. I didn't think I'd ever leave a comment like this on youtube. But I feel like I have to do this because your videos are incredibly inspiring. When I watch you, I can see honesty and passion. I feel that the will to Create is coming back to me, thanks to the fact that I found your channel, so thanks :)

Danny, thank you for your creativity and the time of your life for us. I enjoy your work. I almost sold my new alpha 1. But now I wondered if it was necessary. Maybe we should leave her. I bought your awesome LUTs. Thanks again.

Danny is the man!!! Easily the dude who I get most excited about a new upload!

Thanks so much Mason!!
I'm about to shoot my first AD in like 8 years. It's a two man band, so the first person I looked up was Danny Gervits! Thank you so much for giving us hope. You are the GOAT on RUclips (for filmmakimg)
Thanks Danny!! Last tip is gold!!
Loved this! Really appreciated the lighting breakdowns. So cool to see how you got such high end results with simple but thougthful techniques. And indeed - Music is so important. Nowdays I'm not sure if I can even begin editing anything at all if I don't have the right music first haha
Creatively well done 👌🏽 These tools available now for pre production look very useful too
Had to get tribal on this one! Love it!
Inspiring work!
