Hai sis im taslim from India...just love ur recipes and had tried coconut chicken satay, sweet corn fritters, thai green curry..it was reallly awesome my kids loved it...Thank u so much...keep rocking
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost my password. I love any tricks you can give me
I remember eating these as a kid, but I never knew that they were made out of Sweet Potatoes. This was absolutely addictive and so delicious. Thank you for tapping into my childhood.
I get a Thai language lesson plus a cooking lesson at the same time.. Love this channel... And going to Thailand in Oct, cant wait.. Xoxoxo best cook ever!!! Asian food is my fav
I used the orange sweet potato and yes it was too moist so I can only add 1 tbsp of coconut milk and have to add extra flour. Anyway still turn up yummylicious. Thanks, Pai.
I got these white fleshed sweet potatoes at my local asian market and I have never had that type before. They were a suprise. A lot more sticky which was texturally pleasing. I suspect this is what you want to use for this. Orange fleshed yams are definitely completely different: more fibery as well as more moist.
wow this looks delicious! where I am from in Canada we have potato donuts to but they are quite different. we use normal white potato and not sweet potato and, there's no coconut milk in it but we pour maple syrup on them (we pour maple syrup on everything so this is not a surprise lol) and normally we make them more during winter or early spring when it is still cold outside. I really want to try this recipe and see how different it tastes!
I love this recipe..i was thinking about using a purple yam potato, and after cooking them rolled them in some cinnamon sugar while hot..hoping it turns put great..gonna make some for breakfast in the morning/ coffee. Being a diabetic this would be a great snack when I'm craving something sweet..and just replace the regular sugar with splenda..Thanks for the recipe and video 👍👍👍.
Wooow!! That taste really good!! Sweet potato flavour taste so good!! That taste so crispy and delicious deep fried doughnuts!! Great recipe!! See U anytime!!
I made this yesterday and I’m not sure they turned out right. I used the purple sweet potatoes but the dough was too moist so I ended up using two more tbsp of tapioca starch and flour, but barely any coconut milk. I’m going to try and make them again and see how it turns out!
Woww! This is quite similar to Malaysia's Kuih Keria. Except kuih keria is coated with palm sugar and ughhh makes it so so good! Melt some palm sugar with a little bit of sugar and a touch of water and just coat it evenly until the sugar crystalized around the doughnuts!
Looks amazing! I’ve been looking for a recipe for this for years. I had these 7-8 years ago in Bangkok, sweet but they also had some black pepper? Anyone seen these with pepper?

oh my! you posted this video of my favourite "finger food" (next to kanom krok) on my birthday (april 20th) ! !!!THIS IS A SIGN!!! =D i need to make these following your recipe 'asap' *__* yummy!!!! thanks for sharing!!! i miss thailand.
There's a similar recipe in India, but it uses rice flour instead of wheat. And the dough is stuffed with sweet coconut and palm sugar mixture. Then, it's fried. Really amazing taste! I love this version too. You're an amazing cook and such a natural, no-drama, adorable presenter 😍
Can you do a video on Thai pancake with banana wrapped inside with nutella drizzle on top. I was just at Thailand in April and my sister and i ate it almost. everyday.
I love your content! You're so informative, you basically answer all the questions i have in mind. Your video quality is so nice too😍keep doing what you're doing!!💙
Do you know if it is the same recipe, apart from the sweet potatoes? I ate these "orange sweet potatoe doughnuts" last year in Singapore and would like to recreate them.
Icefeldt it’s a relatively simpler version of this recipe. It’s just mashed sweet potato, plain flour and a pinch of salt mixed together and fried into a donut shape. In another pan, heat up sugar and water till it liquifies. Once the sweet potato donuts are fried up, dunk them into the pan with sugar. Mix it ard, till the sugar crystalize, coating the entire piece. It’s called kueh keria in Singapore. Hope this helps! =)
Pailin, great recipe it looks like Okinawa doughnuts ( undagi). Definitely got to try and make this recipe. I would like to request you to make Chinese sponge cake. It is fluffy and lots of hole within I think it is steamed. It’s very good and have an interesting texture.
Wow these look so good and so easy to make!!! But I have a question: if I cook the potatoes in the oven or microwave, won't they have less moisture than if I steam them? You said the drier the potatoes the better, since that means you can add more coconut milk and get more coconut flavor in the doughnuts, which got me thinking if using the microwave or oven could be a better solution. Steaming makes the potatoes more moist, no?
I think I’ll give this recipe a try because I’ve tried to make these many many times already but always failed😓 I think it’s because I’ve used the orange sweet potato and just like u said it was way to moist so i added more and more tapioca starch and they basically tasted like fried boba pearls 😂😂 Fingers crossing that it will work because i love them so much😍😍

I have a question. Can I use purple yam or yams instead? Cassava? I have a hard to get hold of those sweet potato you showed. I only have the orange sweet potato here. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this... I'm just about more than 2 weeks in my new employer and the 2 kids have different tastes in food..even the parents... you're really a big help to me since I am the one who cook for them... Thank u so much... I just want to ask something..is their a replacement for wheat!?coz my madam wants gluten free.. please answer...😍😍
Pai! Love your videos :) do you think maybe you can make a video/blog post for your Vancouver fans about where you like to shop or eat specifically in Vancouver? It's a bit niche but would love to know ;)
But every time I buy these in Thailand they are orange inside as well, so I always thought you used the orange sweet potatoes. Maybe they mixed the orange ones into the mixture?
Sawadee ka! We coat those balls with sesame seeds here! And make them a lil bigger! I’ll try your recipe next time . We make them with sweet potato ,rice flour and glutinous rice flour.

Jin Feldman tapioca flour :)

Wow kool.. The purple one u talk about .. is that like our Kumara?.. In NZ?..
Hi Pai, I love your channel. Can you make something with cassava root (manioc)? They are very popular and cheap here in Brazil.

Wht we can use instead the tapioca starch
In Singapore and Malaysia we use the the orange variety as well to make into little donuts and coat it with a sugar glaze. Super addictive!
Do you know if it is the same recipe, apart from the sweet potatoes?

That looks really good. I’m wondering since I can’t consume all of them at once.
Would air fryer be good for reheating something like this for later?
Worth a try. Or you could just keep the rolled dough in the fridge and fry them when you're gonna eat them.
I assume they would taste even better with glaze or frosting. Or how about a drizzle of chocolate while we are at that.
